I've been seeing Louis at this salon for years and won't go anywhere else. He has always taken care of me and been patient if I change my mind. Plus, he's open to trying crazy designs. I often switch between long and short nails, and, as you can see from my images, he's great at both. I wouldn't go anywhere else. This is my favorite salon and my when my parents come visit, we all go together for some self care. I always make an appointment a few days in advance for acrylics with him and I will usually just go with anyone for a pedicure because they're all good. read more

The nail tech made me bleed on multiple fingers, and the nails still came out being one of the worst acrylic sets I've ever gotten. 2 days later almost all are chipped, the paint job is a joke, the shape is weird, and some art lifting. My friend came with me and got the same. All of hers are uneven, and also chipping/lifting. I think the owner caught on to how bad it was, because he let her go for free. But somehow I was stuck paying $40 for this. They have pictures of Mark Wahlberg on the wall, apparently some movie was filmed here. Not sure who they know to get him to ever come. read more

Louis is the best nail artist in Boston... he's a perfectionist , does the best shaping, and whenever I ask him for a design he exceeds my expectations. I found him a year and a half ago and have never seen anyone else since. The salon is also big with a lot of space and seats and they make it so easy to make an appointment. I went to this place just last Saturday. I have been several times before. This was my first time there since Covid. It was always " okay" in the past. They are always very busy, and the place itself is very clean. My past experiences are just that they rush so fast for pedicures. I always do deluxe there because of this. I want my feet to be cared for throughly when getting a pedi. Scrubbed, filed, massaged, the works. Otherwise you are in and out of chair in 20 min! Anyway, my issue is with the owner. A guy that is always present answering phone, checking temps ( yay), overall running the show. I called him over to ask the difference between jelly pedi and deluxe. Again it had been a year since I was there. He said " don't look at website. Website wrong for prices" Um, okay I always paid $35-40 for deluxe previously. I already had feet soaking when I was looking at menu to decide. So he tells me - no jelly only deluxe. I said okay. Deluxe now $65!!! $25 more than before and listed on website. I could totally understand a 5-$10 increase since Covid but $25??? And to not even change it online or notify you when you make appt for deluxe pedi as I did ( and he answers phone) So I did deluxe and whatever. Susan was great. Took her time and happy w/result. I then go to pay ( again "him") I take out my card, as usual. He leans over and whispers " you pay cash please" so I paid cash instead. I left there feeling agitated, not w/Susan.. But w/male owner. This is my second time back and I should've listened to my gut and not return. I haven't done a full set in years the owner told me $60 for a full set I assumed because of covid prices went up. I went on their website and saw that it's $35. I wasn't clear that I would've gotten gel with my set but I mean come on give me the option I felt that was very sneaky. I'm unsatisfied with my pedicure my nails have different shapes. My finger nails are ok both middle fingers are crooked. I paid nearly $100 for mani and pedi towards the end the technician did not use lotion or massage my hands basically I didn't get my money's worth. I know his back was hurting and genuinely felt bad so I thought to myself maybe I was his last client and he just wants to get out, but I was wrong when I left someone else sat down. Always wanted to try this place out because it's so pretty on the outside. Got a gift certificate and here I am! I made an appointment which was the easy part. The hard part is getting them to notice you when you come during busy hour. I came after work time which is 5ish and so everyone and their mom is there (literally)! Parking was tough, they have a lot but it was full so I had to park on the street. And it's a busy street. Even though I made an appointment, I still had to wait an additional 15 minutes. This place is huge and has so many chairs but it was literally a full house. The lady who did my mani pedi was nice but apparently I chose nail polish that wasn't like regular nail polish but it was an extra $2 change on top of the service so I was like whatever. No I did not see any signs about that. I don't know I just felt like a small fish in a big pond and didn't really enjoy it. It wasn't relaxing at all, just stressful. The new site of Paris Nails is something else! Located in Oak Sq, across from the Y. The place is huge, lots of mani pedi stations. The decor is gorgeous. State of the art equipment. Came here around 5:30 on a week day - the place was a lot bigger than I expected! I was seated quickly as though they had a few customers, it was fairly empty for its size. My technician wasn't the friendliest, but he was quick, shaped my nails exactly how I wanted and did a good job overall on my acrylic set. It's been a few days and they're still in great shape, hoping they last! The one thing I really didn't like about my experience is that they had green strobe lights going the whole time I was there, which made me kind of dizzy and uncomfortable. I went here for the first time and was honestly appalled at how poorly I was treated by my nail tech. Everyone else including the owner seemed nice so I'll still give 2 stars instead of one but disgusted with how I was treated ESPECIALLY since it cost $100 to get my nails done (it was $85 and i still left a $15 tip. But i should have walked out after the way she spoke to me I realize now). I came in with ying yang nails and asked for the same design and shape and length. Well my nail tech cut them too short and it did not have a coffin shape. instead it was square because of how short it was. I HATE square nails and AS SHE WAS SHAPING THEM asked her to please round them out since they were so short, they no longer were the shape i wanted. You would have thought I asked her to completely start over. She was clearly annoyed, huffing and puffing and absolutely did not round them out. I literally offered to shape them myself, that's how awful she was being. She rudely told me to "go pick out your color." Again, I paid $100 for a set of nails that I didn't even like and to be treated that way. When I got home I had to file my nails MYSELF to get the shape I wanted. Truly such a waste of money and time to be treated that way. IF I ever go back because there's so many other nail techs, I will be sure to avoid her. I just got back from the nail salon; I picked a color and they put it on. The staff was really sweet. Kim did my hands, not feet. There is so much color variety, so no more stress and anxiety! You should definitely get your nails done here; I promise you'll leave with beautiful nails and a cheer. I just went for the first time earlier today and I will definitely be back to Paris Nails! The price is pretty reasonable ($12 for a manicure) and the staff is so attentive. My manicurist was very detail-oriented and gave a great hand massage! On top of that, she made great conversation. The actual place was really well-decorated and clean. They even had music videos playing in the background for constant entertainment. If you live in the Brighton area and your cuticles are looking rough, go to Paris Nails! As I mentioned in my previous review, I've been going to Paris Nails for a long time, years! Every two weeks religiously! I moved away from the area, but I would still drive an hour just to get my nails done. I eventually stopped going because it was too long of a commute just for nails. I didn't stop going because I had an issue or anything. My mom and grandma however, continued to go but eventually stopped also because its far for us. In December 2017, I sent a text to Elaine (yes, that's how close we were that we would text each other) to make an appointment for my grandma because we were in the area and I was off from work. I also asked her if she would do my nails, and she told me that she no longer does nails. OK! A few days before taking my grandma to her mani/pedi, I spoke to a friend of mine, (who I referred to Paris Nails), and she mentioned that she still gets her nails done by Elaine. INTERESTING!! So I'm thinking to myself why would she tell me she no longer does nails?! We are at Paris Nails, my grandma is waiting to get her pedi done by Cindy. While we wait, Elaine comes out and completely ignores me, doesn't greet us or anything. Which is so disrespectful! I asked Cindy what's wrong with Elaine and she told me, she's sick. So you don't say hi?? I also asked Cindy why she doesn't do nails anymore and she looked at me like I was crazy and told me she does! Okay, so it's me then. Elaine doesn't want to do my nails. I don't know why I wanted to leave my money there, but after the conversation with Cindy, I asked John, if he can do my nails, unless he doesn't have time. He instantly said yes, I can do your nails. Then a minute later, after talking to Elaine, he told me he can't because taking off SNS would take long. It takes the same amount of time to take SNS off as gel. So, I'm thinking okay! they are refusing to do MY NAILS! I was very upset sitting and waiting for my grandma. I was upset because for so many years we've been going there and sending our friends and family over. It seems like, because I don't get my nails done there, I don't give her any business, so she acts like I can ignore you and I don't have to take care of you. I've been a loyal customer for years and Elaine should understand that it's far for us to commute. I really didn't want to leave this review but that is not how you treat a loyal customer who simply doesn't want to sit in the car for an hour and sometimes longer than that with traffic. I sent her a text telling her how I feel, and I got no response. It seems like when they opened their second salon, they forgot about their loyal customers who were there from day one. 1/30/18 - I'm glad the owner Elaine finds this review FUNNY! I have gone here several times over the past two years to treat myself. Lately it's been horrible and today was my last time that I will allow myself to waste money in this place. I got a mani pedi and left with smudged toenail and bumpy nails that weren't even filed even. When she was doing my manicure she didn't even take off all the old polish, so I had asked her to do so since you could clearly see there was a good amount left on my nails. She acted as if that was a burden to her (like what??) and after that the attitude changed. I was rushed out of there. Don't waste your money here!! Big ups to John at this salon- I can't stop staring at my nails. I got a full acrylic set with gel polish about 3 weeks ago at this spot and needless to say it was over due when I came in to get a refill Sunday evening. I came in at 4:30 which keep in mind they closed at 6:00 PM so I was excepting it to be rushed. I was pleasantly wrong in my assumptions. John did an amazing job, seriously. He spent a lot of time leveling the surface of my nails and correcting the thick bulkiness that was the prior set- He knew exactly what he was doing and was quick yet so precise. I'm already crying for when these babies start to grow out but I'm sure they're still going to look amazing- they literally look like my real nails in their width and thickness (or lack of it). read more

I went here today for the first time. I just moved to Brighton from Brookline and haven't had my nails done professionally in months. I decided to give the $35 mani/pedi a try. First, the pedicure: The girl had used almost cool water and I asked for it to be hotter. Later, she almost burnt me rinsing my legs. She rolled up my leggings so high and tight it was uncomfortable; I had already rolled them up so I wasn't sure why she needed to do it more. I was already short on patience because she hurt me using the orange stick, practically jabbing the cuticles---I said "Ow!". She also hardly shaped the nails. Moving onto the mani--I expected it to go well but she kept getting upset that my pinky finger went up when she painted my ring finger, which happens when you pull down on it, it was a reflex I couldnt control. She hardly talked to me or made eye contact the entire time. Luckily a friend was with me to keep me company. HERE is what was REALLY upsetting: I sat under the dryers for 10 min and was ready to leave. I asked the man at the counter to check my hands and feet and he said my nails were dry. I slipped on my shoes (Sperry topsiders, so I didn't need to use my hands). Then I noticed a problem with one of my nails on the edge. When I asked to have it fixed, the manager man told me I messed it up putting on my shoes, and even my friend noticed I hadn't done anything. Of course the woman that did my nails was nowhere to be found and so he asked another man to come fix it...and it looked worse than before but at this point I was exhausted. I had been suffering from terrible allergies all day and this was the last straw. We waited until that nail had 10 more minutes (we timed it) under the dryer and left. Later, trying to undo the obscenely tight leggings, my thumb nail got scratched...despite being under the light for 20 minutes. You can see photos attached. Honestly, I'd heard okay things about this place and it was clean with a lot of nail color selection but I found the nail technician rough and the staff rude. The photo on the right shared from Instagram is what I said I was looking for. A coworker of mine had this exact color done here. The photo on the right is what I was given after being assured that it would be a purple. As you can see, we're looking at red. The man rushed through and found the video on his phone more interesting than making a decent tip off doing my nails. My nails did not properly dry as the light was set at the wrong timer and this issue was not realized until half way through. Didn't matter though, he rushed and threw a slab of polish on and called it a day. In addition, he had the fan turned on high the entire time blaring in my face. I was ignored when asked to turn it off and had to remove it myself. Thoroughly disappointed with the service I received especially for paying so much for a poorly done manicure. It's been 1 week since I've gotten a powder dip manicure. I've been keeping up with it religiously for almost 2 years ( in may) typically my powder dip manicure lasts up to 3 weeks. No breaks, no chips... 3 weeks or at least a solid 2 before the grow out. That's why I switched from gel to powder so it wouldn't chip. This had to be the worst powder dip Manicure I've ever gotten. Based off my pics you can see the top layer of powder is legit coming off. Now I don't use my hands a lot here or excessively wash them... total waste of $60. I won't be back here. There are so many other great salons through Brighton. Fyi- They are $10 more then anywhere else in Brighton. $40 for a powder dip manicure WITHOUT doing he cuticles... if you want cuticles done it's $10 extra bringing it to $50. Legit rip. Worst dip manicure/service I've ever had. I came based off a recommendation of a friend and went to Louis. I have been getting dip consistently for over 2 years and have never had them chip in sometimes 6 weeks with them on. First, they didn't even lotion or massage when done, which is very odd. Worst of all, within a WEEK after this dip manicure, 3 nails have chipped and therefore broke. I spent so much time growing out my nails and was extremely frustrated. I messaged them on Instagram explaining it all and they asKed for me to come back in so they could fix it. When I got there, I had Louis who was so completely rude to me and acting if I was crazy coming back in. I asked for him to shape my nails into a round shape (because the broken nails warranted so) and he told me I would need to pay for that! I don't recommend getting the Gel Manicure at this salon. I used to get it done regularly here but I don't know what they changed. Whether it is a cheaper top coat or cheaper lights etc. but it turns any light shade manicures a different color. The first time it happened was in January 2020 I had just had OPI Alpine White applied and noticed my nails were yellow in the sunlight. I went right back they did them again and they were still yellow. I went to another nail sail this past year but decided that by now they should have fixed the issue. Had 2 gel manicures done with darker colors but this 3rd time had a light lilac color by Essie applied. Same thing all over again. They must still be using the cheap stuff. read more

I was a little nervous coming here as I spent the night before looking at some pretty awful reviews complaining about the quality of service, attitude of staff, and overall cleanliness of the facility. I decided to still give the place a shot anyways. Walking in the place looked beautiful and very clean. Me and a couple of friends had an appointment for 5pm and walked in and were immediately taken. We picked out our color and went to go sit down. Let me tell you the man who did my nails was SO immaculate and meticulous. He made sure everything looked perfect and he was so nice. He spent a long time on my nails which was SO nice because I didn't feel as he was rushing. I am very happy with the way my manicure came out. My friends and I all got tips put on our nails and a dip manicure and the total came out to $60 which isn't bad considering in Boston I can pay over $100 for sub par manicures. If you're trying to decide whether to go based on the reviews I say give it a shot and try to have a positive outlook! Everyone has a different experience and 9 times out of 10 only the bad ones get reviews! I will be returning in a couple of weeks to get my nails done again. read more

I used to come here for a long time since it was cheap and easy to get service. However, the service has slipped dramatically. I felt extremely rushed and the utensils used during manicures are dirty. I developed a huge infection under my nail after dip treatment. I later went to another nail salon to remove the dip and they said it was a bad fungal/bacterial infection which ended up needing ER care and antibiotic treatment... never going back here again . read more

Went to this place. The lady Bella who was assigned to do my nails told me that instead of an acrylic refill I should get a dip. And kept repeating that continuously. She said it was a healthier option for the nails. While removing my existing acrylic, she cut off all my tips and told me that if I wanted longer nails I had to pay $30 extra. I told her that I don't want anything to get done right now. So she started being extremely rude towards me. Paid for the acrylic removal and while leaving told the owner that I am never coming here. Part 1 (first time I went in): This place is overpriced and the guy Luis who does "nail art" is an absolute PRICK. I have been there twice due to the fact that I couldn't make it to my normal person outside of Boston. First time I said I had long acrylics and would require nail art, meaning the apt needed to be longer than one hour. They took me 35 min late, finally sat me down and I was told the picture (keep in mind my own pic of nails I've gotten done in the past) was fake and not done with gel LOL, (which it was). Anyways he worked on me for about 30 min before getting so openly angry he took his next client even though I was taken 30 min late and shooed me off to his sister to finish. Paid 130$ ,then within 2 days of being in Vegas (not drinking) 3 had broken off. I was livid. Didn't make a post about it then because I figured I'd never go back. Part 2 (second time I went in): Currently my car is broken down and they are the only close to decent place near me. Went in today and he was SO INCREDIBLY RUDE ONCE AGAIN I had to hold myself back from saying something. Got there early and told them I wanted nail art. He told me I didn't have time to pick a color and said LOOK AT WALL AND DECIDE NOW. So I just went with a sparkle gel that was "10$ more" because he was being so rude and pushy I didn't trust him to do any more in depth nail art again. He said "I don't know how to paint rainbow colors". On top of all of this stupid BS, my nail color is completely uneven. He made me bleed from whacking my cuticles so many times with the tool. I had to have him fix the uneven nails about 4 times. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. Unless they know you and that you tip well or you want basic (shorter) acryclics done, they want you in and out within that hour. He doesn't want to do nail art for 2 hours when he could make more by getting more people in and out the door. Good place for a quick gel or short acrylic job or pedi, but the owners ONLY care about money there and Luis has the attitude as if he hates his job and customers. They charged me $5 additional for coffin, even though my nails were already coffin, and they look more square than they did before. I asked to go shorter and they made none of my nails the same length. They then charged me again for a tip that looks like it was glued on from CVS. After an hour, I noticed every one of my nail beds needed a cuticle clean up. I called and asked if I could come for them to fix and maybe some of the shape of the others and they said that cuticle would be an additional $10. Will not be going back as I would rather not pay $75 for a plain powder manicure. read more

My friend's manicurist was pretty rude. The BC girls there are absolute PIGS. So, I previously wrote a good review and have been coming here for awhile, I don't know what happen but the service seems to have gone down. It's almost like they don't really want return customers. So, I noticed after a while of coming here that they'd rush me. While it only sort of bugged me previously, I figured it doesn't matter, since they do a good job and that's what matters. But over the last three times I've gone, it's just gotten worse. Not only rushing, but also pulling at my cuticles with no oil or anything. They have many color choices and all the new styles in but seem not to know how to actually apply them properly. I got burned by the UV light under the table, they seemed unbothered by this, even laughing. I also noticed that over the last few times, my nails started to chip and peel right away. The saving grace of this place is Ben, he does a fantastic job. But other than that, meh. As someone who prefers to go to the same place each time and tips well, I'd rather go where my nails won't smell like burnt plastic and laughed at. read more

I love this place. My gel manicure is lasting since 9/28/17 (picture below). I do a lot with my hands at work and I'm shocked it's still intact because normally my manicures don't last long.
