It was impossible to get servers attention as they were poorly staffed (managements fault not the servers obviously) and once i was finally able to order my pizza it came 15 minutes after I was able to flag a waiter down an hour later to check on it. After along hard day touring the city on bike, we made a final pit stop to have dinner and a few drinks. Stumbled onto this place on our way back to our unit. It was already packed as they had happy hour. We managed to get seating in the patio area which is next to a public courtyard so it was an added bonus to people watch. It was 86 degrees with 78% humidity so a nice cold beer was in order. We ordered escargot along with Beef Bourgignon, Magret de Canard (duck), Croque Madam, and Belle Italliene (salad). Got my order wrong, twice. Probably would've gotten it wrong a third time if I wasn't so hungry. I asked for a margarita pizza, ravioli comes out. Mistakes happens it's fine, I ask for a margarita pizza a second time after telling them that was not my order. I wait and a pizza that is definitely not margarita comes out. This restaurant is next door to Pompidou and reasonably priced. The food is 3-4 stars. Where it falls to two stars is the service (one of four never got a meal and then after two requests for our bill over a fifteen minute period, had to get up and start leaving before the waiter finally brought our bill). The restaurant seating area is too large for the staff to effectively service. Another reason for two stars is practically every table on the terrace had someone smoking at all times throughout our meal and conversation time afterwards. It completely ruined my meal to the point I had to step away before I got sick (the man literally had the cigarette at our table). Since I don't speak French and am in a foreign country with a whole bunch of people trying to kill us with their second hand smoke; I didn't feel comfortable raising a stink (literally). Don't know what to say if you can't find SOMETHING to enjoy. Your server is probably a polyglot. My main gripe is having to sit next to smokers while I'm eating. But this is something non-smokers will have to endure throughout Europe. read more

Prime location next to the sculpture fountain at the square and near the modern art museum but food is so so. Has a croque Monsieur which was not impressive at all. Either was the French onion soup or frittes! Fries were soggy and had no flavor. Service was ok considering we were blubbering Americans but not super. It was happy hour so I ordered a beer which was poured really foamy and my hubby got a cocktail which tasted sort of odd... Ahhh sidewalk cafes in Paris. My friend who's studying here is a fan of this little establishment, nearby the modern art museum, so we stopped in for an early dinner. As a cheese-a-holic, I had to sample the "assortiment de fromages" (technically a dessert I think, but for me a dinner :). It was four types of cheese - one similar to brie with a stronger flavor, one similar to gruyere, goat cheese and a bleu. Came with a few grapes and fresh bread. Also had a glass of chardonnay. Friends had a salad of sorts with a melted goat cheese on bread accompaniment, and they LOVED it. I think it was 62 Euros for the four of us - a similar meal in America would be around $20 each with tip, so this seemed just right. They also had an extensive list of cocktails, but they all seemed so American...I couldn't bring myself to order one, lol. Pina colada, cosmo, mojito (technically Cuban, not American I suppose), etc. We sat in chairs facing the street, watching the crowds walk by. Very pleasant experience, all in all. read more

Français ci-dessous. Unfortunately, we received poor service. It took about 20 minutes for me to receive my drink. A margarita. It was actually ice water with lime and it was disgusting, but I don't send items back so I held my breath and drank it. After waiting over 40 minutes after ordering, our server tells us that we both ordered salmon, but there is only one salmon left. My friend changed his order because we'd been waiting so long and were hungry. The menu has very limited options for seafood (there are two items on the menu). Our food finally comes, and I'm satisfied with my salmon. My friend does not like his fish after a couple bites and sends it back. He received 3 pieces of fish and sent three pieces of fish back as well as the rice carrot mixture which he didn't eat. When the bill arrived, we were charged for both meals but my wine order was removed. The wine cost about half the price of the meal and the wine was good. When we asked our server why he removed the wine and not the meal, he replied that he gave us the wine free because we didn't like the meal. What type of sense does that make???? I understand if the meal was half way eaten or mostly eaten, but it wasn't. The entire meal except a piece of the fish was returned. In the end, they took off the food and my friend left hungry. Malheureusement, nous avons reçu service médiocre. Il a fallu environ 20 minutes pour moi pour recevoir mon boire. Un Margarita. Il a été fait l'eau glacée de Chaux et il a été dégoûtant, mais je ne pas envoyer des articles de retour si je tenue mon souffle et bu il. Notre nourriture enfin est livré, et je suis satisfait avec mon saumon. Mon ami ne pas comme son poisson après un couple morsures et envoie retour. Il a reçu 3 pièces de poissons et envoyé trois pièces de poissons retour ainsi que le riz carotte mélange dont il n'a pas manger. Lorsque le projet de loi est arrivé, nous avons été inculpé pour les deux repas, mais mon vin commande a été enlevé. Le vin coût la moitié des prix de la farine et le vin était bon. Lorsque nous avons demandé à notre serveur la raison pour laquelle il a retiré le vin et non les repas, répondit-il qu'il nous a donné le vin gratuit parce que nous ne comme les repas. Quel type de sens ne qui font ???? Je comprends si le repas était mi-chemin mangé ou la plupart du temps mangé, mais il n'a pas été. So I ordered the Carpaccio de Boeuf when I didn't even know what it was (except the fact that it's beef)... sort of regretted it because I'm not much of a red meat eater. However, this was a beautifully laid out platter of very thinly sliced raw beef with uncooked mushrooms, arugula, artichoke stem, and sundried tomatoes that's pretty typical of French cuisine. It was seriously a lot of food and I really didn't know how to eat it (nor was there anyone who could explain to me how to in English). It was good but definitely more for sharing because I started to feel the familiar paralysis of a food coma halfway through the platter (lol). My coworkers got open top sandwiches that looked really good with an over-easy egg to top it off which I was very jealous of... but the fries were not that great and stale. Probably won't be coming back but this place is conveniently situation in the quad so you can watch street performances and kids chasing each other around while you eat. read more

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by Paris Beaubourg! We were hungry and just wanted to stop walking and eat something. It turns out the food, ambiance, and service all exceeded our expectations. I started with escargot, cooked with butter, garlic and parsley, and they were absolutely delicious. The texture was excellent, the seasoning was delicious, and the flavor of the meat itself had a nice wonderful earthiness. For my main course, I had a salad with the all stars of French meats on it - duck confit, cured ham, and foie gras. It also had some delicious green beans and potatoes mixed in. It was truly delightful. My wife is a vegetarian and she really enjoyed her pizza. We also got a fair number of drinks, and they were great, exactly what we wanted, and served relatively promptly. While Paris Beaubourg probably isn't a "special occasion" place for anyone, for anyone looking for a great French meal, it's a great spot. read more

So I generally eat anything but couldn't finish either the appetizer nor the main course at this place, and neither could my colleagues who were eating with me. The charcuterie plate included a pate that looked days old and tasted stale. The bread basket included something that looked like the end of a corn dog with no dog, indicating the bread had been recycled from elsewhere. The osso bucco was over cooked, dry and very difficult to cut. Two of us chose it and neither could finish it. The steak my other colleague had was gristly and badly cooked. Needless to say we didn't have dessert The table cloth underneath the paper topper was also dirty - some previous guests had clearly been using it to wipe their fingers. My wife and I were out for a walk and stopped in for an early dinner. Our server was Erwam, and he was an absolute delight. He answered all of our questions and even made some great recommendations.
