This place is good but inconsistent. For beers, the wife got something with orange flavor and it was flat. I got the amber beer (ambree) and it was ok but did not have much body, and it was kind of flat. I also tried the stout and it was excellent. We both were hungry from traveling and walking all day so we got burgers )15.50 euro each). She got the BBQ burger and I got the Blue burger. Both were cooked perfectly as we requested--medium--and were juicy and flavorful. We both really enjoyed our burgers! The sweet potato fries were also very tasty and very crispy. My cole slaw was not to my liking, had no sauce and was just celery, carrots, and cabbage. The wife's mac n' cheese was a disaster and nothing short of disgusting. Do not, under any circumstances, order the mac n' cheese. It is nothing like you can ever imagine. On the strength of the burger, fries, and stout I could go 3.5 stars. It's a fun place to hang out and prices are in line with burgers in Paris. Why beef costs so much I do not know. If I am back in Paris and have a craving for something American, I would return here. read more

This is one of 5 English style microbreweries of the Frogpubs chain. This one is located in Saint-Germain and is often full with students and expats. If you're ok with strong smell of beer and English guys puking in the toilets, then it can be fun. More seriously speaking, it's not a bad place. They produce their own beers (6 different kinds) and serve a quite decent pub grub. The atmosphere is very lively and it's easy to get to know new people. There also are frogpubs in Les Halles (rue Saint-Denis), Bercy village, the 16th and the 13th districts. Nothing more to add! read more

Not your typical french bar, but it can be a really fun spot to visit. It's not cheap, but they have a pretty large selection of beers and mixed drinks, and tasty sweet potato fries. My friends were particularly fond of the piña coladas, which are unlike any I've tried before. Great location, friendly staff, and they speak English for the most part. The few times I've been here, I've always met other interesting travelers (especially Australians). If you're an American feeling a bit homesick, it's a good spot to go with your friends to remind you of a favorite dive bar back home. read more

I went to The Frog & Princess several times with friends most of the time at night on Friday and Saturday. The first thing to know about The Frog & Princess is that the establishment does not offer any parking. Therefore, you will have to find street parking or to use the public transportation. I would definitely recommend the latter. The bar itself is very busy and with a very nice atmosphere with a lot of noise. The drinks in the bar are quite expensive, but nothing crazy, particularly for Paris. A good thing to know is that the waiters all speak English, which makes it a very tourist friendly place. The best thing about this place is that it is located in Rue Princesse, which becomes a huge party street on Friday and Saturday nights, since a lot of younger people come out to drink at the bars in this street and just hang out outside. Overall, my experience at The Frog & Princess was very good, and I would recommend this place if you don't feel like going to a club in Paris. I had come here with some friends in late 2013 and was extremely underwhelmed and felt no urge to return. Fast-forward to 2016 and I'm back in Paris on the night of the Super Bowl and this was the closest place that I knew would be playing the game. We only stayed through the first half of the second quarter as it was almost 2 am but the staff was friendly, the beer was good(though a little pricey-probably because they brew their own) and there was ample standing room for us to watch(though no tables available). When we were leaving, we noticed a sign advertising their American BBQ. This piqued our interest as 1. We love BBQ, 2. We were in Paris, and 3. Southern BBQ in Paris isn't common in the least. We vowed to try it at some point but we were unsure when. I'm not sure when they overhauled the menu but it was completely different from when I visited 3 years ago. They even have tacos. We came back the next night. Both my friend and I were craving BBQ and simply couldn't resist. We sat at the bar and ordered the platter(34 euros for 2 people). Service was pretty quick and while the food looked great, the platter was on the small side. Outside of a couple dishes being cold, all 9 of them were above-average/good at WORST. Really impressed us and we devoured absolutely everything. My favorites were the sweet-potato fries, the wings and the brisket sliders. Would definitely return if I'm craving BBQ in Paris. Not the greatest place to grab a drink(not the worst either), but if you're looking for BBQ, this is the place to go. read more

Nope, the beer isn't cheap, and to be honest, I've never been there at night. It is, however, a place to get Anglo food where the staff speaks English, they serve food that contains spice (rare in Paris), and the servers, bartenders and managers have been nothing but courteous and pleasant to us. The food is okay, though a friend recently went and said they cropped their menu down to mostly burgers, though they theoretically still have their brunch menu (which is what we go for anyway). Is it spectacular? Maybe not, but it's pretty darn good.the real draw is it's a nice place to go when your English speaking brain is tired of trying to remember all the French words you've been trying to cram in, and you just want a burger, or brunch, a pint, and friendly service. Place is very cool, they have different types of tables and couches, great lighting for drinking, Bose sound, and the best is their food. We had the crispy southern fried bbq chicken. Hands down the best we have tried. Order the ONION RINGS! the crowd tonight is mixed ages, although more college aged. The only downfall to this place is a bad puke smell that lingers around. If you're an American... don't bother coming here. They discriminate against us. I came out with some friends because it was one of the girl's birthday. Everything seemed fine when we walked in and sat down to order. However, the seats that three of our girls sat in were taken and the guys that came back tried to kick them off. Apparently, the bar tender said they could get a smoke while he watched their seat, but... we were there a good 5-7 minutes deciding what to get and the bartender didn't say a word to us. Anyways... the guys were being douches and got their seats back, while trying to make a move on them and touched the inner thigh of one of the girls. We got heated up and arguments got started. Another bartender was asking behind us to see our IDs to see if we were over 21. The legal drinking age is not 21 in France... He explained further that it was a private property and they reserved the right to make their own rules, otherwise we could leave... So they basically wanted us out because we were Americans that wouldn't put up with their jack-ass patrons' harassment and douchebag behavior. Some of the girls went out first and when they tried to get back in to tell us to leave, the bouncer denied them and handled one of the girls. That set her off and they left after some other guys in the alleyway tried to hit on them. Another bartender that was trying to get us to order was actually the only nice person there, as he spoke English to us and tried to work with us. I apologized to him for taking his time, but the establishment as a whole has been the worst bar we've been to while in Paris. read more

Went here last Saturday night with friends. Three words: BEST NIGHT EVER. The drinks were fantastic and reasonably priced compared to others in the area. In a great and easily accessible location, this bar has both a great vibe for talking and space for dancing. More chill than a full dance club but definitely more lively than your average bar. This has become my friends and my new favorite place to meet new people both international and local and we will definitely be returning very soon. read more

THE BARMAN WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY! DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE! Last week, I ordered 2 beers twice. Both times I paid with a 50 euros note. The first time this low life bar person gave me back 26 euros instead of 36 euros and the second time he was even more arrogant and my change was 24 euros. I am 100% sure he is stealing money from the bar too, not just from the customers. I am not poor and didn't care about the 10-20 euros he took because it was really really funny watching him go up and down the bar when he was about to give me my change. Anyway, I am going to report him to the head office because his arrogant behavior is not acceptable or fair to the rest of the customers. I see now that I should have stuck with beer instead of joining my friends and ordering a margarita (although it was really good). The atmosphere was also really nice. I did have a problem with the waitstaff who threatened to throw me out when I tried to grab a glass off the counter, since no one would get one for me.
