Tried giving this place multiple chances thinking it was just a one-time thing with their service, but unfortunately seems like it's the way they operate. This place has so much potential with elevating their service and sense of urgency to keep all customers happy. Food is great, can definitely give Starbucks a run for their money if they set their pace a little faster and was more structured. In an alternate future, this Paris Baguette would be the reason I'd visit The Pike Outlets more often. In this future, my visits to The Pike Outlets will remain sporadic. I had just enough points for a free pastry, donut, or cookie, but a majority of my points would have expired in about a week. I was planning to get dinner elsewhere nearby at The Pike Outlets, so I figured I'd try this Paris Baguette, which recently opened earlier this year on the east side of the shopping center, adjacent to Pine Ave. Almost all of my visits to a Paris Baguette have been in a city that starts with the letter 'C', so it was nice to see them open a location in Long Beach, even if it'd be a little farther from me. Hey, I rhymed and I didn't even mean to! lol When I came in, I noticed the display cases of baked goods were smaller, so they didn't have as wide of a selection as I hoped. As an example, I was looking for the Korean BBQ Pizzetta, which would be my go-to for a free pastry, but they unfortunately didn't have it! I'm thinking this bakery just doesn't bake it because I didn't even see such a sign inside their display case! And the display cases weren't even complete! What do I mean by this? I noticed they didn't even have price tags on some of the pastries, which really hindered my ability to decide. Without knowing how much these pastries cost or even what the names were, I could not select a tag-less pastry as my free pastry knowing it could be one of the cheapest ones. I did ask an employee, Ricardo, a question about which baked goods would count as a pastry. I've been told in a condescending manner (at a different location), that a bread was not considered a pastry, and I was also told verbally that a tart would not count as a pastry. Ricardo actually did mention the Lemon Blueberry Tart would count, and it caught my eye because it was the last one left in the bakeshop. There was also one last Chocolate Supreme Croissant left, but I would have much preferred the Lemon Blueberry Tart since it was $2.55 more than the Chocolate Supreme Croissant. When I went up to the register to scan my rewards code, I was told the tart didn't count as a pastry, contrary to what Ricardo said. I had to go back and select a different pastry. I did consider the Strawberry Croissant, which was actually a little more expensive than the Chocolate Supreme Croissant, but since there was that one lonely supreme croissant left, I had to go for it. Sorry not sorry! lol :D I went back up to pay, and Ricardo was behind the register this time. He had trouble ringing me up for the Chocolate Supreme Croissant, which should have been free. I legit thought that because I scanned it on the Lemon Blueberry Tart previously, it wouldn't work for this one. Even her female co-worker struggled to redeem my reward, so they had to call another employee, Brian I believe. Brian must have been the manager on duty because he seemed to be training Ricardo on some basics, like tarts not counting as pastries and to remember to offer the customer a box/bag with his/her order. My order was small enough that I was only given a bag. I liked the coagulated chocolate coating on the top of the croissant, but I wish they had encompassed more of the croissant. There was chocolate filling inside, but it didn't seem like there was that much. Otherwise, the croissant tasted just as expected, and I liked how the edges were baked to a nice crisp. They also do validate parking if you park at the Pike Outlets parking structure, which would allow you to park there for free for two hours. Don't forget to ask upon paying for your goods! I was torn between 2 and 3 stars for this Paris Baguette. If some other customer had taken the last Chocolate Supreme Croissant while I was trying to get the Lemon Blueberry Tart, I would have given 2 stars, but since I was able to score that last one, I'll give it a third. However, next time I'm craving Paris Baguette, I'm more likely to return to one of the 'C' cities instead. read more

I stumbled across this wonderfu frenchl pasterie shop on my morning rides. Beautifully kept shop with some delicious treat in a glass box..I've gotten really accustomed to the cheddar n chicken sausage patty, and real egg breakfast sandwich. Best part is the toasted croissant bread flaked with sea salt and sesame seeds toasted on top. Toasted golden brown..the simple things are so good. I'm gonna be very honest, I'm a coffee snob..had the cold brew and hot coffee, it wasn't rich enough lacking flavor. I'm sure that can be easily adjusted. What I like: Their pastries are soft and chewy, and the cakes look beautiful and taste even better. What I don't like: Prices are steep at $4-$5 for items that aren't very filling, but service is generous. I ordered a birthday cake, which I highly recommend. I love me some Paris baguettes but then again, there's some locations that's just whatever. This particular was a first time for me. Didn't even know that they had one here till we were walking by. I popped in maybe an hour after seeing it for something sweets. It didn't help the fact that this past weekend there was a cheer or dance competition happening across the street at the convention center. Hence it was slow. There's a nice little patio seating along the front when you walk in. It's a decent size location with a few tables inside. It was still early in the afternoon and majority of the glass counter were emptied. There was barely anything on the shelves and whatever was there, nothing really looked appealing. They did have a few savory items left. Cakes counter still had some sweets. Ended up just picking up their twist donuts as that was really the only thing that looked decent. Then there was the wait, it took forever. I finally reach the counter just to pay. There was only one cashier which I don't want to sound rude or mean, but she was slow. By the time I reached the cake counter, there was a line towards the door. And still only one person ringing up and packing the items up. Then it comes to the taste test. The first bite of the donut, it was stale and very chewy. That can't happen so fast if it was freshly made that morning. I don't know if they carry it on for the next day or so but both of the twist were stale. Not just us that noticed it, a table next to us said the same thing with what they ordered. I've been to loads of the other locations and each visit, everything was fresh and great. This location, probably be the first and last time. It's prime spot as it's part of the pike but if they're continuing to sell stale pastries, it's probably not worth it. read more

Happy to finally have a decent dessert place that's open late in a Downtown Long Beach. Came here to pickup some patties for my team since they've been working so hard on deadlines. It's your typical Paris Baguette so you know what you're getting and the consistency of their products. This particular spot carries that well, so there are no surprises. Friendly staff. Very excited to have a Paris Baguette in Long Beach! I usually frequent one in Cerritos. Baked goods are very fresh! This new location is a replica of the others with self-service items and other items (cakes, sandwiches, coffees) that you order at the counter. I was surprised to see a nice selection of whole cakes along with slices in the cases. Service waa great with friendly staff. I pre-ordered a cake online to be picked up. The process was very easy. I ordered the Cappuccino Cake. It looked just like the photo online! The taste was so good! We all loved the cake! They did a beautiful job and personalizing it with a birthday wish! If you like coffee flavored sweets, definitely a great one to try out. Over the years, I have had many different flavors, and now this one is my personal favorite! The cake was very fresh and moist! The cake was packaged very well for toting back to the car. Parking is a bit of a challenge in this area. The Pike has the Aquarium close by along with a lot of stores to shop. The convention center is close by. There is a parking structure and some street parking. Much closer to street park if you are going to be in and out quickly. There isn't any "green" short-term parking close by, a bit of a hike with a cake. Hoping management reads this review and petitions the city for a short-term space(s) close by. I am sure this set up is mostly for foot traffic. I definitely will return when in the area to shop, quick bites, but for Whole Cake, need to stick with Cerritos location. Paris Baguette opened this new location in Long Beach, on Pine Ave, close to the water. The place was busy on a Sunday morning, there's some seating inside, cute bistro tables and chairs. Too bad they don't have any seating outside, it was such a nice, sunny day! The shop has always a good, solid selection of pastries, you pick them up, go and pay. We wanted some savory pastries and grabbed their Quiche Lorraine version which was very tasty and the hash brown bread with ham and cheese, always a nice, indulging treat. I asked the staff member who helped us to heat them up. He was nice to do so, but I had to work hard to get his attention (he was talking to another staff member) that we didn't need them packed since we were gonna eat them there. More attention to the customer would be appreciated! Since it was a hot day, we shared a strawberry smoothie, very well blended! Really cool spot in Long Beach not too far from the convention center, very young and hip staff treating guest as they walk in. Coffee and drinks were really nice and good options to choose from. Breakfast items were super good. The Korean iced coffee was a huge plus with how great the balance was with sweet and strength. It's conveniently located right across from the convention center, so it's in a good walkable area, however parking can be difficult. The restaurant is beautiful and clean, and quite large with plenty of seating if you choose to eat inside. Clean bathrooms. I'm so glad that they're in Long Beach. Such a great spot to visit because the variety of pastries is great and you can also grab a sandwich or soda if you're hungry. You're definitely not getting the quality of desserts ingredients that you would get in Europe so the fact that it's called Paris is a bit misleading, but I think Paris baguette is known for being an Asian style type of bakery. Finally made it here to check out the new location of PB in DTLB. I am so happy there they opened a location here, since I've been working in for over 15 years and have tried every single thing in downtown for lunch, that is still tolerable by walking... So, this location is on Pine, next to or around Islands if you need point of reference. It's facing the torturing sun during most of the day so the shop is pretty bright and hot, outside... Inside.. I think they tried to make it as efficient as possible by putting as many tables so people can sit indoor but, the layout is too small for an efficient way for customers to maneuver the pastries while not walking into sitting patrons. If you've been to a PB, you know the drill... Lots of pastries, you take a tray and grab what you want. Pastries are consistent and I love their cakes. One thing I hope they will improve is the efficient of the staff... not sure if they are still training but they are so slow! The one who helped me, took forever to look up each 3 items I had on my hand, and asked me 3 times what I wanted for my drinks... she was also very slow with typing items onto her computer screen...I'm not trying to be impatient but there is always a long line and though they have 2 cashier registers, only one was working both times I went, and each time, the one at the cashier was super slow... so painstakingly slow that I do not want to come back... They also mixed up hot and cold drinks and you would have to wait for them to remake... Also, I got a matcha and, it was not good at all..... They use a premixed power matcha that already has milk in it or something, and very sweet... if you are a matcha enthusiast you will know what I'm talking about if you get matcha here. This is a late post review. I was invited to their soft opening. For my Long Beach friends and when you're in the area go support Paris Baguette at The Pike located on street level next to the theater and an Irish pub. This area will build up good business with time once the summer Olympics come to LB. There are beautiful whole cakes and slices. I'm over a fan of the Matcha and ice coffee that I am of the pastries. Yes, they have a lot of them, but they all seem like they taste the same. I will say that their gluten-free selections are pretty good and don't fall apart and turn to dust as soon as you bite into them. They're opened at The Pike, it's quite a far walk from the parking garage but they do validate your parking. Inside, it was a nice and clean ambiance with Paris inspired flooring and furniture. Good selection of pastries to choose from, you just grab a tray and grab what you want. The pastries and cakes are kind of pricey though. I chose their ham and cheese croissant and blueberry cream cheese pastry. Both tasted good and fresh. Overall, I prefer 85 degrees more as it's more affordable but will come here if I don't want to make the drive. read more

Came on a early Monday morning. Was happy to see the pastry set ups looked alot like 85 degree bakery. So many options, they all looked delicious. I purchased 4 different pastries and the twisted donut, and croissant tasted a day old.I was hoping they baked fresh thst morning but we also had the flat pizzas warm which was good. Stopped by around 8am on a Friday and picked up a salted bread, two cookies, and an iced latte. The salted bread tasted good after reheating, and the iced latte was nice too, especially if you prefer your coffee on the milkier side. Unfortunately, the cookies were disappointing. They were quite dry and seemed overbaked. If you're into soft, chewy cookies, these probably aren't for you. They just opened. We were walking the Pike Outlets early morning after our workout at EoS and decided to pop in. The place is very clean and new (of course), and the staff was very friendly. The pastries looked very delightful, but I'm not really a pastry guy. I like a more savory breakfast sandwich...egg, ham, cheese, etc... Unfortunately I'm not a fan of this business model. You'll need to get a tray and tongs and pick out your item to take to the cashier ( imagine everyone coming in and picking through all the danishes to find the right one!). Even at a doughnut shop you point out what you want and they get it for you? The breakfast sandwich I was looking for? They are made ahead of time and pre- packaged sitting on the shelf. This is a 7/11 style business. I think they might get you some coffee without you having to make your own I didn't buy my sandwich, but imagine they'd want a 20% tip at cash out.
