I was looking to purchase a Thai constellation monstera for my partner and came across this nursery…read moreonline. They had a spring sale going on so I was able to get 20% off on a plant that usually goes for $100+. The website states they process within 48 hours but it was shipped in 5 days. The condition of the plant was not good when it arrived, as the only leaf was already almost falling off out of the package. When I requested for a return and a refund, they were going to charge a $11 restocking fee. It wasn't until I wrote a strongly worded email, that I was able to get a full refund after returning the damaged monstera. The whole interaction was 1/5, but I'll bump it up to a 2/5 because I was able to get my money back. I've seen better maintained plants at my local farmers market so I plan on going there instead. Would not recommend.

The outside succulent displays are accessible by wheelchair but the greenhouse is not. The walkways for the greenhouse are very narrow, and some areas are very tight even if you shuffle walk sideways. Staff are walking around and available to answer questions about plant names or pricing. Not all plants have prices listed. Several staff members also speak Spanish. The plant prices are really reasonable, and some of the rare tropical plants are shockingly low priced for what they are (Monstera Thai Constellation, PPP, PWP). For many plants, they carry small pot offerings which are really affordable for plant collectors. As a plantaholic who spends some time every single day looking up plants, I am not easily impressed by store variety offerings, but there were tropical and succulent plant varieties that wowed me here. And I normally wouldn't buy some of them, but the pricing was comparable to big box stores or sometimes better.

As my family continues to build out our Tropical Garden, we happen to hit up a lot of Nurseries…read more Always looking for hard to find plants specifically Plumeria varieties - one nursery in particular has been on our radar for a couple of months now. Jungle Jack's!! The name alone makes you wanna go. The only difficulty was their hours, as most days they close at 2pm. Luckily we had the perfect opportunity with it being the Valentine Day weekend, I wanted to get my wife something special and we took the whole family up to Jungle Jack's. While it was a little out of the way the drive was certainly worth it, nice to see all parts of San Diego. When we arrived we found some parking and started to walk around. The nursery itself is massive - tons of space with a huge assortment of plants along with a metric ton of Plumeria. My personal favorite aspects were the theme - they didn't shy away from the Jungle aspect of the name. Ended up sitting in some pretty cool Elephant chairs where I met the adorable dog aka: Cowboy. We found everything we were looking for and the staff were not only knowledgable but super friendly. Was such a treat to go out there - our family felt very welcomed. We certainly made some big purchases that day - it felt like it was well worth the investment. Not only with the quality of the plants, but wanting to support the store. Gotta love supporting local businesses. If you are looking for some Plumeria this is certainly a nursery to check out.

I've now gone there three times in the last two months but I think I spoke to the owner the last time he was loading up a truck for Texas one of the nicest guys I've ever met super helpful and super knowledgeable. I'll probably be coming back within the next two weeks again, truly a gem of a place.

Unfortunately, we lived in Encinitas so the climate didn't allow the avocado to thrive but she loved getting Asian/Hawaiian plants, and fruits from this nursery. The scene that will greet you is a dirt path and two-sided parking spaces. Try them, very wooded and dense, like you are in the forest, which I loved since I am from back East and we have huge trees and green wooded areas. The staff are very knowledgeable and the value is great. If your plant doesn't grow, call them, and they guide you or replace the plant. I love this place. If I had a house, I would be here for my roses and fruit plants.

There's a fruit tasting table and I remember the first time I came in and tasted some fruit I'd never even heard of before. If you're a foodie or if you enjoy rare or tropical fruit or even if you're a fan of botanical gardens, this place is amazing It's a mom and pop place (actually just a pop place cause I think the owner Steve who started it still runs it by himself). The sign said they have been here since the 80s. Anyway because it's a small nursery and open 7 days a week, it's a good idea to call if you're planning to make a long journey to visit just to make sure they haven't stepped out. It's usually fine but I see people on other reviews have come in from far away without calling and it's just a good idea to call if it's a mom and pop nursery and you have a long drive. My favorite fruit was white sapote, cherimoya, the bazillions of types of guavas they have, ice cream bean was delicious, and I never knew palms have delicious fruit (what????). I come about twice a year from San Diego and as San Diego nurseries go, this place is in a league of its own. I even just like walking around in there to relax cause it's almost like a fruit botanical garden. And some of the small stuff is very affordable Highly recommend if you have a few hours free to explore this place. It's a great nursery -- kinda like the Garden of Eden!
