Parche has such a lively atmosphere. The space is full of color and personality and the decor really brings out Colombian culture. There's upbeat music playing in the background which adds to the fun vibe without being too loud. It just feels like a good time as soon as you walk in. We tried a few different dishes and were seriously impressed with some of the flavors. - Tumaco Ceviche: fish was super fresh + buttery soft paired with a coconut-lime sauce that was nutty and refreshing. The dish comes with plantain chips on the side which it always nice to have something crunchy that contrasts the texture of the fish! - Chorizo Corn Dog: A fun twist on a classic. Nice crunch when you bite in, and the flavor was on point. It came with thick yuca fries that had a perfectly crispy exterior. Super good! - Chicharrón y Yuca: This one was just okay for me... not a must-order. The dish is on the heavier, oilier side, and a couple of the pork belly pieces were mostly fat and skin without much meat. Servers were friendly and welcoming. They checked up on us twice during the meal to make sure we were enjoying our food. 1/5 Extremely disappointing experience at Parche. I had a 9:00 PM reservation and received a call from the manager right at 9:00 PM. During that conversation, I told him I was on my way. His response was clear: he told me they would keep the kitchen open for us. Based on that assurance, I continued driving to the restaurant. Then, when I was approximately five minutes away, the same manager called back and informed me that the kitchen was now closed and that they would not be serving us. What frustrates me most is that this entire situation was completely avoidable. If the kitchen was about to close, he should have either told me not to come or given me a firm cutoff time. Instead, he confirmed that I was on my way and assured me they would keep the kitchen open. Had he simply been honest about the actual situation, I could have chosen from countless other restaurants whose kitchens were still open and enjoyed my evening without issue. During our conversation, the manager repeatedly tried to justify what happened by pointing to fine print in the reservation policy and by saying he had attempted to contact me at 8:48 PM. But none of that addressed the actual issue. At 9:00 PM, we spoke directly. I told him I was on my way, and he told me they would keep the kitchen open. That was the representation I relied on. If the kitchen could not remain open, he should have told me that at that moment rather than assuring me everything was fine and then calling back minutes later to cancel. To make matters worse, the manager later claimed that I had told him I was only five minutes away, which is simply not true. I never gave him a five-minute arrival estimate. Yet that inaccurate statement somehow became part of the explanation for why they decided to close the kitchen. I even asked why they couldn't simply take my order over the phone and have the food ready when I arrived. First, I was told that the food would be prepared too quickly and would be cold by the time we got there. When I questioned that explanation, the reasoning changed and I was then told they couldn't count on me to pay. The explanations seemed to change depending on the conversation, which only made the situation more frustrating. Adding to that, the manager repeatedly referred to me as "friend" throughout the conversation while refusing to honor the commitment he had made minutes earlier. Under normal circumstances that wouldn't bother me, but in this situation it came across as dismissive and insincere. I would have preferred accountability and a genuine apology. The proposed solutions were equally disappointing. At one point, the manager assumed I had taken an Uber and offered to reimburse an Uber fare. Besides being an incorrect assumption, it completely missed the point. The issue was never transportation costs. The issue was that we relied on his assurance that the kitchen would remain open, only to have that commitment withdrawn while we were already on the way. My two friends and I had planned on having a nice dinner together. Instead, we spent the evening scrambling to find somewhere else to eat. After being turned away elsewhere because of kitchen closures, we ultimately ended up eating at BJ's around 10:30 PM. I drove up from Los Angeles for the evening, and thanks to how this was handled, I essentially spent six hours on the road only to end up eating at BJ's. Had the manager simply been straightforward with me from the beginning, I could have made different plans and enjoyed dinner at any number of other restaurants still serving food. The only meaningful solution offered was a vague promise of a discount if I came back another time. After having a reservation effectively canceled while I was already en route based on the manager's own assurances, that did not feel like a serious attempt to make things right. Frankly, after this experience, it was difficult to understand why I would ever consider returning. The entire interaction left me questioning why I would ever return to Parche or consider visiting any affiliated restaurants. Mistakes happen, but what separates a good restaurant from a bad experience is how management handles them. In this case, there was no ownership, no accountability, and no acceptable resolution. If you're going to accept reservations and assure guests that the kitchen will remain open, you should honor that commitment. Unfortunately, that did not happen here. What should have been a nice dinner with friends turned into a frustrating and unnecessary ordeal. Instead of enjoying the evening we had planned, we spent it scrambling from restaurant to restaurant looking for somewhere still serving food. In the end, the night was only barely salvaged, and certainly not because of anything Parche did to make the situation right. I went here for lunch with my mother and it was fantastic. I am Colombian myself and I can say this place was the real deal. I ordered the chicharron with Yuca and the arepa which had shredded carne inside and came with vegetables on the side. Overall, everything was a 11/10. My husband and I went to Parche for lunch this past Saturday as he had heard that it was Colombian cuisine and he wanted to check it out. The service was excellent, the young lady that helped us figure out the menu was very nice and efficient. I ordered the arepas de choclo and when they came I was confused because they looked like pancakes, however once you dig in, they are arepas. BUT, more like little pillows of goodness. You have to experience them to understand. We ordered 2 sides of Yuca frita because we just went to town with the 1st order. My husband had Posta Negra Sando and he loved. For drinks we both had Fuera de Serie and those were yummy. We are both looking forward to going back and trying other of their superb and creative dishes. Came on a Friday evening for dinner with a coworker. Public transit is your best bet for transportation but street parking wasn't too terrible at that hour for some reason. I had made reservations on Resy a few days prior for 7:30, but we still had to wait around 10 minutes after arriving on time to be seated. Decor is decidedly Latin and very welcoming, but service was a little standoffish. Es Por Te: rum, matcha, lime, strawberry-powdered espuma. I did not care for how medicinally sweet this tasted - to be honest, it almost gave me a cough lol. The fun stopped after the novelty of the foam. Patacones: the plantain was fried well and unsurprisingly filling, but the three accompaniments made each bite feel lighter. Favorites were the tropical salsa and onion marmalade. Pesca Samaria: great entree and worth the 15 minute additional wait. Not only was the corvina meat perfectly flaky and moist, its skin maintained a great crunch. i'm also fairly sure I fell in love with how coconut was represented in the dish, from how it imparted so much flavor to the rice to its almost vanilla-like profile in the beurre blanc with the fish. From the bar tender serving up carefully poured drinks, the natural language of some locals and waiters, the vibe of the Latin sounds and people enjoying the space and resto... I loved every bit of what was going on here. Pork belly was amazing, ceviche was fresh and gave me a nice break inbetween that and the last beef dish. As it was its first time in the menu I spoke with the chef for feedback and it was good, just wished a little thinner cut on the beef and a bit more or the citrus for my taste. We got a couple drinks, a few small bites, and main dish to share. The patacones (fried plantains) were great. Good texture and flavor and the spreads/dips were great. The papaya salsa had a good balance of flavor and light and bright flavor. The onion marmalade was nicely sweet and the other sauce/spread like like a salsa. The Santa Marta ceviche was beautiful and loved the plantain chips that came with it. The texture and crisp of the chips was perfect and addicting. Came here with a group of eight for a birthday dinner. While the service was genuinely great -- our waitress was super nice, attentive, and everyone working there was friendly -- the food experience was disappointing. To be clear, this was not about trying to spend less money. We're more than happy to spend what's needed to make sure everyone is well fed. That was never the issue. The issue was that we followed the waitress's recommendations exactly -- three large dishes, a few of medium dishes, and a 5-6 of small plates -- and I even asked before ordering if it would be enough food for the table. We were told yes. It absolutely was not. We ordered two Mojarra Frita, which are listed as large dishes, and even then each person got maybe two to three bites of fish. For the rest of the dishes, most people got one bite, if that. For a restaurant that promotes shared plates, it was honestly confusing -- where was the food? Timing also became an issue. We arrived at 5:00 pm and had tickets to a concert at 8:00 pm at the Paramount, which is literally a block away. We didn't anticipate that it would take nearly three hours for all the food to come out. Between the pacing and the portion sizes, we were left rushed and hungry. To be fair, the ceviche was very good, and the chicharrón and Mojarra Frita were tasty flavor-wise, but portion size and timing completely overshadowed the positives. The rest of the food was just okay and not particularly memorable. The drinks were strong, which was probably the highlight of the night. Overall, the staff and service were excellent, but the food portions and pacing made this a disappointing experience -- especially for a group dinner at this price point. My colleagues and I (a total of five) decided to go out to Parche for dinner after a long day's worth of meetings. We ordered all of the small shared plates (9 items in total) and two of the large plates (rib-eye and branzino). My favorites for the evening were the tumaco ceviche, caribbean salpicon, Brussels sprouts (they were basically candied), rib-eye and branzino. Service was fast and efficient and I really enjoyed the festive vibe of the place. It's really excellent for a group outing. Santa Marta ceviche (salmon and rock fish, mango leche de tigre, squid ink aioli, green herb oil, red chili oil, crispy salmon skin): Got this from the recommendation of our server who said it was her favorite. The oils were flavorful and the fish were fresh. Salmon salpicon (salmon tartar, black pepper aioli, capers, jalapeño-cilantro aioli, crispy plantain rings): A tasty appetizer with a nice contrast of textures! The crunch and creaminess fit together nicely. Posta Negra (cartagena style braised short rib, Mexican Coke, panela & spices with yuca-coconut mash): This was a hearty, appropriate way to end the meal. The yuca-coconut mash was so delicious! It was savory and sticky. The nuttiness of the coconut paired well with the subtle sweetness of the meat. I forgot the names of our drinks but I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. Not only are they beautiful, they taste good too. I'm not sure what some other tables ordered but there was a spectacle with fire and a horn each time someone ordered a certain cocktail. Came for Restaurant Week during lunch and really enjoyed the food and vibes. The interior is super bright and airy - lots of plants and woven textures made for a very "tropical" vibe. The Restaurant Week menu was a set menu, so we each got a drink, appetizer and entree. Both drinks we had were super delicious (non-alcoholic). Very fruity and one of them was paired with some sparkling water, so it was very light on the palate. For the appetizers, we got Brussel Sprouts and the yucca fries. There was a tiny little pepper on the Brussels that we ended up being so obsessed with that we asked where we could buy then for our own future meals at home. The yucca fries were well cooked - nothing super exciting, but the sauce they were paired with was very delicious. Between the two entrees (the burger and the arepa con queso with chicken), I definitely preferred the arepa con queso. Typically, adding chicken is an extra cost, but it was included in the Restaurant Week menu! It is kind of like their take on chicken and waffles - except chicken and arepa. The arepa is very sweet - very corn forward and the chicken came with a sweet syrup as well. I wish there had been just a little bit of spice to balance out the overall sweetness. However, the overall flavor was good. That being said, the Restaurant Week menu was a deal for $35 each for all of the food we got - I think we would have each been out over $40 with their regular prices. However, this is not an every day kind of meal - the prices definitely merit a more special occasion. read more

Came with a client for lunch and found that the food was ok. We had empanadas which were good, but not quite as good as Lucuma where I normally go. My main food issue was with a celery salad, which just tasted soggy and had a gooey sauce. We ordered a few other things, which came 45 minutes later. My issues were mainly with the kitchen (crazy slow) and the service, with the server selling us more food than we needed, disappearing mid-service, and then giving us no explanation for why there was a 45 minute gap between when part of our order came and the rest arrived. FOOD: There was a lot we wanted to try but we ended up trying: - tumaco: this is rock cod ceviche in thin coconut sauce, with Tigre leche with bell peppers and mini tomato. I really enjoyed the added milky element to this dish. The sweet tomatoes were also a great addition. - posta negra: the short rib was absolutely delicious, so tender and the perfect amount of sweetness and savory. However, I did not like the texture of the coconut mash potato, it was too chewy and thick for me. I would have preferred this dish to come with rice. - pesca Samaria: this was my favor savory dish. Love the crispiness of the skin of the fish. The fish itself was nice and tender, the white sauce perfectly compliments the dish. Loved the coconut rice too. I wish they served it with potatoes rather than the pickle onions. And the shrimp tuile was the perfect topping. - guava, mango and passionfruit sorbet: refreshing dessert, passionfruit however was EXTREMELY TART. - chocolate cake: this was divine. The selections on the lunch menu are limited, and the mere description of the menu items all look wonderful and flavorful. I needed time to read that menu and then decide. My imagination has me thinking of eating something exotic and unique. Specialties: salads and ceviches, sandwiches on gluten free buns, sides (yuca fries, patacones, rice andhouse salad), crispy bites, traditional plate (their take on classics) and desserts (flan de coco and sorbet). Shaved celery root with roasted red spicy peppers, black garlic vegan aioli, smoked green grapes and chips freano (vegan). The smoked green grapes were the bomb. The yuca fries were crispy and not greasy, prepared to perfection. I savored the taste of those yuca fries. My daughter had the posta negra sando with yuca fries. Wow! Braised short ribs covered in Mexican coke - panela sauce, fresh tossed green topped with a chimchurri vinaigrette on a gluten free bun. Beverage: Passion fruit jasmine tea (fresh iced tea). Curious if this tea is served hot. The tea was a tad underwhelming. It could have been better. Minor drawback that does not have an impact on my five star rating. Service was excellent. Parche had been on my "want to try" list since it opened and didn't disappoint! Our group of 4 got to try a number of lunchtime menu items. For appetizers, we sampled Patacones, Empanadas de Ajaico and Tumaco Ceviche, all stand-outs to me. I can't decide which I liked best, but will note that the ceviche was the most unexpected as it was coconut milk based. For mains, our friends tried Mojarra Frita (fried fish) and Posta Negra Sando (short rib sandwich). I didn't try the sandwich but the fish was outstanding and something I wouldn't hesitate to order in future. Meanwhile, my husband ordered the Arepa de Chocolo while I ordered the Arepa de Queso with a side salad. These arepas were very different and I'm glad I ordered the one I did. My arepa was topped with a perfect sunny-side up egg and served alongside the most delicious grilled vegetables while my husband's arepa was very sweet and almost dessert-like. He enjoyed it, but not sure he'd choose the same next time. Drinks were also wonderful. I couldn't resist ordering a 2nd glass of an amazing Argentinian Malbec they offered. Our only mild complaint was somewhat slow but still very gracious service in the busy but very attractive dining room. We heard about this place and my two friends and I decided to stop by because we're all Colombian. We've been living in the United States for more than ten years, so we really appreciate finding Colombian restaurants. The moment we walked in, the ambiance was fantastic. The place was clean, thoughtfully designed, easy on the eyes, and the background music was perfect. Everything felt really well put together. It definitely raised our expectations for the experience. When we sat down, the host was very nice about seating us as walk-ins and told us he was going to leave us in good hands. Turns out he really meant it. That became clear the second our server Daniel came over and greeted us. He explained that this wasn't a traditional Colombian restaurant, but a contemporary one that keeps the Colombian vibe while introducing new, modern takes on the cuisine. That definitely sparked our curiosity and made us eager to try what they had to offer. We started with some drinks, and even those were made with a lot of care. The cocktails and juices were fantastic--everything looked great and tasted just as good. As he explained the menu, Daniel gave us clear suggestions so we could really picture the dishes. When the food arrived, he took time to describe how each plate was made and even suggested the best way to eat it so we'd enjoy it the most. You could tell Daniel wasn't just there to make money. He had this attitude like, no matter what he's doing, he's going to do it well. My friend put it perfectly--we were able to taste someone else's happiness through the food. The place is super cute for a date, very vibrant and colorful! The drinks were EXCELLENT! My favorites that we ordered were the fried branzino, pork belly and stewed beef bowl, and the ceviche! I'm not super familiar with Colombian food, but the meat dishes that we ordered were all a bit too sweet and cinnamon filled for my liking (the Sando) The fried plantains were a bit bland, but came with different salsas which all were delicious, and we ended up using them on the rest of our dishes to add flavor.
