Very Disappointed - Won't Be Back
I really wanted to love Parcero's Burger Grill because the concept sounded great--Colombian-inspired gourmet burgers. Unfortunately, the entire experience was a letdown from start to finish.
First red flag: they don't serve regular water. Instead, they try to sell you bottled water. That's just ridiculous for a sit-down place. When the food came out, I was hopeful because the burgers are big and look impressive. But honestly, that's where the positives ended. The flavor just wasn't there. I ordered the double burger with bacon and ham thinking it would be packed with taste, but it was bland and underwhelming. The grease was everywhere--if you come wearing your best clothes, good luck because that burger will drip all over you.
The fries were another disappointment. They tasted like frozen fries, nothing special at all. Honestly, they reminded me of Wendy's fries, which is not what I expect when I'm paying for a "gourmet" burger meal and a place built on a cultural demeanor.
The service? Basically nonexistent after they dropped the food off. No one came back to check on us. No offer for boxes for my daughter's leftovers, no table cleanup, nothing. When it came time to pay, no one brought the bill--we had to go up to the counter to ask for it and pay. And then, they had the nerve to ask for a tip when they hadn't provided any real service at all and thus us no exaggeration. Food was dropped off and that's it!
Even the bathroom was disappointing. It's unisex, had no paper towels to dry your hands, and the soap was in one of those cheap push bottles you'd expect from a dollar store.
Overall, I expected something unique with Latin flavors, but this was just a greasy, bland burger joint with poor service and no attention to detail, unless you call wrapping the burger halfway, like In-N-Out Burger, detail but been there done that already.
If you are a local or even a transplant from Chicago, like I am here in Hoffman now for five years, and want a great burger experience skip Parcero's and go to The Assembly, Kuma's Corner, Neighborhood Inn or even DC Cobbs in East Dundee. Trust me, you'll be much happier and so will your tastebuds! read more
