It was good but with the language barrier, I didn't fight it and just kept it. I had the passion fruit margarita. It tasted fresh and very delicious. I also ordered the arepitas pues-beef. On the picture it was served with a sauce; it didn't come with it. I think it would be better with a sauce because the meat was a bit dry. The main dish that brought me here was the steak sandwich. It's not on the menu but they did make it for me. It was perfect! The plantain didn't fall apart when I bit into it. The balance of flavors was on point. I wish I could finish it!

The restaurant was painted and decorated with the colors of the Colombian flag. My husband ordered the chicken and rice while I had the breaded shrimp. My plate was 90% rice and French fries and salad. I couldn't tell the difference between this shrimp and what I would find in the freezer section of my grocery store. They charged $21 for this dish!!! My husband's chicken was not flavored very well. I cannot recommend El Asadero Colombiano.

We struggled with the strong bleach smell trying to eat our meal. We also ran out of beverages, and we were 1 of 2 tables in there. The chips looked and tasted like they were out of a bag, which is disappointing because it's not hard to make fresh chips. They had 4 different salsas which were tasty which was good because their food had little flavor. The rice and beans didn't even have any seasoning on them. The steak tacos didn't have much flavor either, so it was good that we had our choice of the salsas to use. The steak was without fat or gristle so that was a plus. My husband ordered a burrito that he said was bland and dry. It was good that they had to salsas but the food lacked seasoning or the flavor I expected from a restaurant with flavor in the name. I am willing to give them another try and order something different, but my husband isn't so willing.

The whole space is covered in comic book art, It honestly felt like stepping into a comic store. You can't help but look around the whole time. I ordered the Choriperro, which I thought was just gonna be a Colombian-style hot dog, but it turned out to be a monster. The sausage had that nice grilled flavor, super juicy and then it was just piled with stuff, crispy fries, melted cheese, a mix of creamy sauces, and even pineapple. Every bite was amazing, salty, creamy, a little sweet, a little spicy. It definitely was a mess, but it was worth it. We didn't wait long, maybe 5 minutes after ordering, and the girl at the counter was friendly. The place was small but didn't feel cramped. If you're curious about Colombian street food, definitely try it out. And get the Choriperro. It's messy, delicious, and worth it.

We dined in and their establishment is kept clean and it's well decorated. If a place serves horchata you know I have to try it and they pass the horchata test (not too sweet, hint of cinnamon, and no chalky aftertaste). They bring out chips and salsa to start. The salsa had a slight kick to it but nothing unbearable for my tastebuds. I had their chicken tacos minus the Pico. They still put the Pico. But besides that the chicken was well seasoned and nice and juicy. They really fill their tacos. I got double the rice instead of pinto beans. We also tried their beef Empanadas which were delicious but they will definitely fill you up. The bowl holds a lot of food and the flavors were good. The chicken by itself wasn't my favorite, they may have overcooked it but since everything else was good Ill give it a pass. Overall a good place to stop and get a bite to eat.

The first week was Peruvian. Having been here years ago (not sure if it was the same name) I already knew at the jump that this was our destination. This is an unassuming place in a strip mall, off Lake street. Upon entering you are greeted with, frankly, a beautiful bar and restaurant. The Alpacas are a great touch. We started off with some yucca cheese balls, tropical ceviche and bruschetta. We are still raving about the bruschetta a few hours later. The cheese balls were also amazing. Ceviche was fantastic, but we could have used a few additional plantains. For our meals we had a Arroz Con Pato (duck), Chaufa (a wok), and a Fettuccine à la Diabla Con Bife (steak and pasta). The best of the 3 was the Fettuccine (aka steak and fettuccine). The steak was cooked perfect, the entire thing had amazing flavor. The Arroz Con Pato looked nothing like the menu. It was very good, albeit with the duck being more on the dry side. Flavorwise though, very good. The wok, same deal - looked nothing like the menu. However the person eating it was pleased and that's all i care about. For dessert we had a passion fruit mango cheesecake which was delicious but so rich, not sure I've ever said that. Benefit to it being rich was that I brought it home to eat at my leisure. The spicy churro cake was also a hit. The place itself feels fun, colorful murals everywhere, kinda gives you energy as soon as you walk in. Staff was chill, friendly without being over the top, and the food came out quicker than I thought. I'd definitely come back just for that arepa, but now I'm curious about the rest of the menu.
