Well I'm very sad to leave this review because I found the management to be great BUT was very dissatisfied with this complex. At first I was really excited to get into this complex. The happiness soon disappeared quickly after moving in. I found it to be very expensive/way over priced and utilities are outrageous. When I asked about utilities, they were very nonchalant and now I know why. I was paying about almost $500 a month for the utilities for one person. Trash is crazy expensive, nothing is included like some places. I broke my lease after 6 months because I felt like it was very expensive for what you get. Homeless people constantly walking and riding by my apartment and asking for smokes etc, coming out of the bushes all hours of the day and night. So freaking sketchy. I did not feel safe. I paid the lease break fee after 6 months to get out. I left the place super clean and they not only charged me $2500 to break my lease but they took my whole deposit and charged me for carpet cleaning and apartment cleaning and paint which I was told normal wear and tear was not chargeable. I owned a cleaning business and I also lived alone as a OCD neat freak. NO stains on carpet which they said there was. They charged for cleaning and paint which was outrageous since you just got a full months rent out of me and I left it spotless. Soooooo sad with how they handled things. I can go on and on. Stay clear of this place it's a rip off. Like I said staff was great but not worth what they are charging and they will get you on the deposit. Attached are pics of how I left the apartment. Parc One you should be ashamed. I hope you make it right and at least give me my deposit back. I HAVE NEVER EVER NOT GOTTEN MY FULL DEPOSIT BACK ON ANY PLACE EVER AND SOME!! I HAVE RENTED AT LEAST 10 places in my life!! I hope you make this right!! I constantly had to fight to keep people out of my parking spot. I literally could never leave my apartment without coming back to someone in my spot. It's really frustrating to bust your ass working two jobs and when you leave to go to grocery store and come home and have to either park in guest parking to not be a jerk so you don't tow the wrong person who might retaliate. Especially frustrating late at night. I didn't feel safe at all there as a single female. Multiple times I would come home late at night and there would be sketchy ass homeless/riff raft right outside my apartment watching me walk in as a single person I wouldn't be able to sleep the rest of the damn night. There are other better more affordable places I promise. Don't settle.

I wanted to leave an update after living at the Parc One community for one year. We ended up not renewing our 1 bedroom lease because we chose to move out of state (for cheaper cost of living), but I really loved living at Parc One! The community was clean and maintenance requests were quickly addressed. The apartments were well insulated and the only time I heard neighbors was when people were passing by my front door in the hallway. There was construction going on next to our apartment while we lived there - townhouses were being built. The noise was not unbearable though especially with the windows closed. The apartments are walking distance from Santee Town Center and I routinely walked to Target and other food places. It gets VERY hot in Santee during the summer but this complex had central AC which made living there very comfortable. Parking is limited, if you have a lot of cars this complex might not be for you. You get 1 assigned parking spot per apartment and the spaces are tight so you have to be careful how you park. Visitor parking seemed to be well enforced, we never had problems have parking available when visitors come to see us. The apartment is located right by the San Diego river (which means lots of mosquitos) BUT during some parts of the year you are able to hear frogs at night and it was soooo relaxing! Rachel Skakie was the leasing specialist who helped us during our move-in and move-out process. She was so helpful the entire time we lived there! If you decide to move in assume you will not get your deposit back unless you are leaving the apartment in pristine condition! The reason for this is that you are not charged for your first 2 months of utilities (water, trash, and sewer) so this is taken out of your deposit when you move out, in addition to the normal move-out cost like painting, cleaning, ect. Knowing this ahead of time will hopefully give you realistic expectations about the move-out process. If San Diego had not become so expensive we would have renewed our lease and I would definitely move back! Thank you Parc One!

A pubic hair from the previous tenant!! Parc One should be shut down!

INITIAL REVIEW FROM OCT 2019 (harassed by corporate until it was removed shortly after). I moved in yesterday. I regret it. My unit was not cleaned before move in. There is some nasty sticky substance by the fridge, the floors, the sinks, counters, cabinets, drawers, and tubs were all filthy. Additionally, the carpets need to be replaced and the carpet guys are almost 2 hours late. I have a 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom, and we are only allowed 1 parking space. We have to pay $25 for our space; this spot is extremely tight and I have to do a 3-5 point turn to park properly each time. For a second space we were told at move-in that it's $65-85 per month. I had to reschedule my internet hook up since I have all of my belongings in the living room until the carpet guys show up. The insulation is terrible. I hear all of my neighbors and every little noise outside. I hear running water constantly from the neighbors showering and flushing their toilets. I have a California King bed and now that I'm in here I can already tell there will be ZERO walking room once I set it up. So far I hate everything about this experience. DO NOT move here! I should have read the reviews first, I hope you do!! Additionally, before move in, the property management was not helpful at all. I had to be extremely pro-active to get anything done; I basically had to do their job, it was very unprofessional UPDATE (February 2020, we moved out after lease term of 13 months): Lori Young, the regional manager harassed me until I took down the initial review. I have emails to support this if they want to dispute my claim and will gladly post screenshots to this yelp page. Well, now that I'm moved out, I'm putting it back up. I was charged a cleaning fee for my carpets despite them being in perfect condition and Bryan (the property manager) told me verbally at our preliminary walk through that I would not be charged; he failed to come to the final walk through. This company is god awful and so are the apartments. They wanted to raise our rent 30%!!! This is absurd! We were perfect tenants and this is how they treated us. We noticed most of the neighbors would move out after a year, I see why. Additionally, there is a god awful smell that will come out of the pantry space. It smells of sewage and was like that the entire 13 months. Management played stupid whenever we brought it up. We had an upstairs neighbor who would literally bang on the floors and walls at all hours of the night. Management told us this is normal and to deal with it. The showers are way too small, and the kitchen sink splatters like crazy as well. Honestly, nothing about this place was nice. I truly hope R&V Management goes out of business. Slumlords in disguise for sure!!

I think he was handed a mess from transition and has been working hard to get everything back in order. He has really done a good job of not letting that get in the way of keeping the community running!! The apartments themselves had a lot of natural light, they were a decent size, the washer and dryer on the patio were a life saver, and whenever we had a maintenance request it was handled so quickly. We loved how nice our neighbors were, there were kids that played in the area and you could feel that it was a family friendly community. The only two things that made it hard were; the stairs. We lived on the third floor with no elevator and during my 2 pregnancies this was challenging. Also, parking is expensive. Normally i have lived places where you get at least one spot, and we were paying 150 for a garage and 75 for a covered spot. They say there is street parking around but there is never any available so you do have to spring for the spot. Even with the two cons we loved this apartment. We would recommend this community to anyone who is looking!!

It's funny how the older you get the more you crave a quiet, clean place to call home and that is exactly what we got when we moved there! My husband and I checked out over 20 apartment complexes when we were thinking of moving to the Santee/El Cajon or Rancho area. Fanita Meadows was the first place we toured and we really liked the complex, the layout and Rose the property manager. I thought to myself no way can we really like the first place this much and seriously made my husband go with me to visit every other place on my list! We really enjoyed that it was a smaller community. I think there are 60 units total so you actually get to know your neighbors. There are a lot of kids in the community and although we didn't have any children at the time we really liked all of the kiddos who lived in the complex and got to know quite a few of them. It was the kind of place where everyone was playing outside in the evening and neighbors actually waived and said hi to one another. I feel like the rent was a good price for the San Diego area and our apartment was laid out really well. It was 2 bedroom/2 bath and both bedrooms were approx the same size. In addition we also rented a garage which had enough room for 2 cars (or 1 car and ton of crap - like ours!). Another thing that we liked about the complex is that they did not allow dogs. We like dogs a lot, but don't have any and had a really bad experience at the last place we lived. That complex was much larger and neighbors would leave their dogs out on the patios all day barking and would also let them go all over the place and not clean up. It was nice moving to a place like Fanita Meadows that was quiet and clean where we didn't have to listen to barking from the poor puppies being left outside all day. If we ever move back to California I would live there again in a heartbeat. We loved the property, the manager and team working at the complex and the fellow tenants.

Roaches and rats and termites are present throughout the property. Don't believe me? Check above your microwave where the outlet is and you'll see all the mice droppings and evidence of the rodents. Also, termite evidence everywhere- ceiling, window ledges, patio, etc. 2. Residents who store disgusting mattresses that have been peed on by their pets or kids on their patio for the world to have to look at. Along with laundry and other items that shouldn't be stored on a patio. 3. Residents who store trash on their patio or front porch for MONTHS at a time. No, not like an hour- MONTHS. Consisting of soiled diapers, meat, cat litter and cat poop, other foods and whatever else causing ALL UNITS AROUND THEM to smell like the inside of a dumpster INSIDE THEIR HOME. 4. Residents parking anywhere including not their parking spaces and nothing happens. Need a handicap spot? Good luck because the lady that keeps getting her kids taken away by CPS will park there and she's not handicap in any way. 5. The property manager lives on site but she's NEVER in her office and never answers the phone. At least the original property manager was always there and a text away- this one you can never find. Need something? You're SOL. 6. Laundry- you have people taking all machines all day every day. How they have so much laundry but don't work or leave the house I will never understand. But if you have to do anything just go to a laundry mat. If there is an available machine to use it's broken or doesn't wash right. MIND YOU these are NEW machines they put in about a year ago and have been broken since the start. Sunrise management and Tara always give BS responses to the issues and don't care to fix anything. It's actually wild. The property could be SO MUCH BETTER but no one cares about it or the residents. They just want their check. Anything Sunrise Management just don't rent from. They're terrible and don't handle the property, tenants and issues in a proper way.

They are postponing rentals for an indeterminate amount of time, I didn't feel like I got true or honest information about that. Josie kept referring to her boss, "the lawyer," as the reason they were not accepting move ins. I want to say I have spoken to her a few times over a month or so of apartment searching. Here's my takeaway: if they are always going to drop the "boss is a lawyer" bit, how awful is this place going to be to live? It seems ominous already and I don't even live there. I could lawyer up too (I have needed to before). But why would you want to put that energy out there. If a "lawyer" is taking actual months to draw up such an advantageous lease for them, where will that leave us? Up shit creek, that's where. I literally never have seen an apartment put move ins on hold to write up a more self serving lease. Josie seemed nice, but I felt put off ultimately by the constant "my boss is a lawyer," name dropping. I was told, no bankruptcies, period. Everyone says that. I had a hard time physically and lost a business. Hence, the bankruptcy, several years ago. My credit is solid now, really good. Most NORMAL people can figure that out. Then Josie says, "for 7 years or more." They clearly do not have a clue on what they are doing. After 7 years, you actually can file ANOTHER bankruptcy. Not that I'm planning on it, but that's what the 7 years mark is. I was really shocked that she didn't know the basics of that. My credit is good enough to obtain a mortgage at this point (I have spoken to a lender), but not rent at the Mellmanor. Maybe it's a nice place, I will never know. Good luck to you, fellow apartment hunters.
