Would absolutely recommend these apartments to anyone and everyone! My husband and I have zero complaints about this property. The property manager Jacque is so sweet and has been so helpful our entire stay! We have always felt right at home! The apartments are spacious, the property is well maintained and the pool and spa are an added bonus!! It's conveniently located close to a costco and many different food spots. As well as being only a short drive to the freeway for easy access to all of San Diego! These apartments are seriously a 10/10! read more

I recently moved out of state, but lived at Village Apartments for ten years+ years and can say that this is a really comfortable place to live. Spacious and well maintained apartments, wonderful swimming pool and the onsite maintenance and management is excellent! Props to Jacque Mierop for always being available and attentive if any maintenance requests were needed and for communicating so effectively. After moving out of state, the checkout process was easy and my deposit was forwarded by mail promptly further demonstrating the professional of the manager(thanks again, Jacque for always doing things promptly). I highly recommend these apartments if you are looking for a place to live in the La Mesa area. read more

Jacque Mierop is the penultimate professional in the property management game. When you need her, she's there. She gets the job done quickly and to perfection. But, it's also the things you don't ask for that she gets handled. Groundskeepers? She's on top of it. Loiterers and unwanted solicitors? Yeah, she'll get them off the property so you can enjoy your safety and privacy. Packages that get left at the office? Yeah. She'll see that they're at your doorstep. If you have time to chat? She's a great human being to converse with. These are just a few things about Jacque that we love. Live here. You will not be disappointed. read more

My wife and I lived here for 2 years and just moved out of state. We would highly recommend Village Apartments to anyone looking for a safe, quiet environment. We loved how peaceful our home life was there! Jacque is amazing. She is caring, responsive, and was simply a huge help all throughout our stay and move-out process. The community of people are easygoing, quiet, and very pleasant to live around. No big parties or loud activities going on. Village Aprtments has set the standard for us in terms of apartment cleanliness, landscaping, and overall quality of living! read more

Village Apartments - Apartments Near Me - La Mesa, California

I must say...when I see MANY 5-star reviews on anything...I feel pretty skeptical about it. However, I must say everything people said here is TOTALLY TRUE. Except for the 1-star review. Maybe that person was just at the wrong place, wrong day, wrong time, wasn't fond of the rules or who knows! Of course, there are rules here but there needs to be rules to keep a place in order. Rules are not rigid, they're normal and it's what keeps this place at peace for everyone (ex. not speeding as you enter the complex, turn your music down in consideration of your neighbors, etc). Things we would all appreciate! This place (Torrey Pines Property Management/Village Apartments in La Mesa) is not perfect but it's very close! I've lived here for 2+ years and I'm very picky with reviews and don't spend too much time on writing reviews unless I really feel it's well-deserved. This place deserves it and honestly Maureena (the property manager) is the BEST manager you could ever have. She's always available and if she's not she'll get back to you as soon as she can. She's very nice and straightforward. She'll tell you every detail that might affect your living situation based on the apartment you rent. Trust me! I've been trying to move from a 1BD to a studio to a 2-BD but I never make up my mind and Maureena has always been there giving me tours of the available apartments and telling me the pros and cons about that specific unit (ex. any maintenance noise around your unit, how far you have to walk to your parking space, distance between your unit and the laundry room, etc). You know we don't think about these little things until we rent the apartment! Then you realized "OMG! I have to walk 30-feet to the laundry room!" Not with Maureena, she'll tell you everything you need to consider BEFORE you move in...not kidding! Neighbors are quiet and respectful of each other. Everyone keeps to their own business. No pest issues! Love that! You rarely have special visitors like racoons, skunks...but believe me, they're so peaceful (I think they're secretly tenants too). They're respectful of everyone too :) Of the 2+ years here, I've encountered a racoon family (sooooooo cute, a mom with 3 little racoons) and a skunk (cute too). Like anything in nature, if you don't bother them they'll just go on their way. I was by myself and we just walked-by next to each other, respected each other and no one got hurt ;)))) That simple! The landscaping is B-E-A-UTIFUL! Kudos to the landscaping guys who come at least once a week to keep this place up! Also, Dale (the maintenance guy) is very nice and such a hard worker. You'll see him around all the time and looking out for each other. It's TRULY really nice here. I really hate to leave here one day cuz rents are skyrocketing but I have to buy at some point. THANK YOU MAUREENA, DALE, GARDENERS AND NEIGHBORS for making this place a safe and peaceful ambiance for everyone! read more

I lived at these apartments for a year and I loved them! Currently at some other apartments regrettably so, and will move back to these as soon as the chance comes. Management is awesome! Especially Maureena...she is very caring and she keeps it real. The place is always clean, and lovely, and quiet. read more

I lived here for 2 years, and absolutely loved it! It's a quiet community, with an incredible staff. Maureena is a wonderful, and attentive property manager. Maintenance requests are swiftly taken care of. The grounds are beautifully maintained. My family and I are grateful to have celebrated many occasions at the pool, and BBQ. It is conveniently located near schools, parks, grocery stores, freeway access, and La Mesa Village. I am sad to move, and cannot recommend this community enough. read more

I moved in to the complex in 2004. I moved into the studio apartment that I absolutely loved and upgraded to a 1 bedroom apartment over looking the pool area and La Mesa. The management (Maureena is the best and sweetest manager) and maintenance crew are awesome and very friendly (Dale rocks at fixing things fast). They are on top of any issue that may arise and dont give you the run around. I left for a year and ended up moving back into a 2 bedroom apartment, that is more than spacious and comfortable. I recommend these apartments to anyone who is looking for a clean, quiet, family oriented area. read more

I lived here for a few months back in 2012. I had a great, roomy studio apartment which was more like a 1 bedroom. it had a full kitchen, walk in closet and a nice balcony. The grounds were always beautifully kept up, nice pool and spa and bbqs. the laundry room was always clean and the washers and dryers were always available. Maureena was a GREAT property manager, very attentive and easy to talk to. Only ever had to do one tiny maintenance request and it was taken care of quickly. I needed to move to a place with a one bedroom (all one bedrooms there were filled), and man did I regret it!! nothing like living there. neighbors were always nice and quiet and there was never a hassle for parking (for visitors, cuz I had a carport). I ended up moving back to LA, but if I'm ever back in San Diego, I hope they would have an apt open to rent :) Also, its close to the fwy and plenty of shopping...and a great park right behind the apartments. read more

This is a great apartment complex to live at. Quiet neighborhood and easy access to the freeway and shopping. I agree with everything William said. Outstanding customer service from both managers Maureena and Anita! They really do care about their tenants and all maintenance requests are usually done within 24hrs. I would definitely recommend the place! read more

This Apartment complex is stunning. The grounds and landscaping are so well kept, it feels like a real home. The neighborhood is quiet and respectful, and all of the tenants are courteous and friendly. The very few maintenance requests that I had were handled immediately and with no questions asked. Maureena and Anita are STARS and such incredibly friendly and helpful ladies. They have always been prompt to assist and go out of their way to say hello and make sure that everything is going well. I loved living here, and I highly recommend this beautiful community as your next home. I will miss it here, as it's truly serene. read more

A year on, and I am still so grateful that I found this wonderful little piece of paradise in the hills of La Mesa. As far as apartments go, this is as close to home as I've ever felt. If you are borderline obsessive about cleanliness like I am, this is definitely the place for you. The staff do a remarkable job of keeping the community beautiful. It's astonishing. It's such a peaceful community, sometimes I wonder if anyone is even there, but they are! Neighbors are respectful, friendly, and I instantly got along with all of them. The only regret I have is not using the pool area enough! You will LOVE that pool. And you will DEFINITELY love, not like, LOVE Village Apartments! read more

Nice, quiet area. Property is well-maintained. Maintenance requests are super speedy. Maureena is an awesome property manager, and she is great to work with. I have nothing, but nice things to say about Village Apartments and TPPM. read more

My husband and I have lived at the village apartments for almost two years now. We started off in a one bedroom and when we decided we needed a little more space the manager was very helpful with moving us into a 2 bedroom. The complex is always well maintained, the neighbors are friendly and the overall atmosphere feels like a home. The pool is always inviting, and the laundry rooms are very convenient. The location of the complex is fantastic. Very close to the freeways, shopping, groceries and a good sized park. The Village Apartments feel very safe, and I felt secure living alone while my husband deployed for 7 months. Also, just to note, I am not sure what "Review G." had an issue with, but I have never had any problems at this complex and I have never been monitored. I think that the foul language is indicative of a foul reviewer. The Village Apartments deserve 5 stars every day! read more

I really love living at the village apartments. The management is very responsive to any problems that may occur. This is a very quiet complex, and I appreciate the managers concern for each resident. Robert L. read more

I can not disagree with Reviewer G.'s review (It's 100% true)... People move out because of the staffs (PM and APM)... I hope Torrey Pines Management reads all reviews... I personally do not like to provide below average rating, however I am going to write how I feel about this community. The location is pretty good and it's very quiet until the pm starts following your life like the "real stalker". She truly believes that she owns this complex and does not realize she collects her paychecks because of the tenants (Don't forget about this). On top of that, she always comes up excuses to prove she is right and tenants are wrong. She appears to be nice in front of people, but it changes if you are face to face. (PS. Change your attitude Maureena). The apm is usually works on Saturdays, but most of time she puts a note called "They are out with clients" and walks to her house which is next door and does not come out for a while. Wow.... Is that what we called the working? Sometimes, she can not make decisions when she needs to and instead she says "I will check with Maureena when she comes back". Great... read more

Great place to live! Close to schools, shopping in Grossmont center and La Mesa village, with quick freeway access to the 8, Lake Murray is also just up the road. The property manager does a fantastic job, she is always quick to resolve any issues, whether it be billing, maintenance, or postal pickup. Maintenance is always quickly resolved, and the landscaping guys do an incredible job, the place is always immaculate! The pool is nice, and there are charcoal and gas grills conveniently located around the complex. Very quiet community with nice neighbors, they don't put up with any riff raff around here. The apartments are a little dated, no central air, washers and dryers are community style, which is pretty much the norm for San Diego area, tons of closet space though (I will miss that). You certainly get more than what you pay for with the community here. I'm sad to have to leave this place! read more

Such a great complex. Well maintained and landscaped property along with a fantastic staff. Maureena and team are amazing. I lived here for almost 3 years and they handled everything efficiently and professionally. Peaceful grounds and a great pool and hot tub. If I hadn't moved out of the area I would not have left. Best place to live in La Mesa. read more

Village Apartments is one of the best apartment complexes in San Diego! I have loved living here for 4.5 years and recently moved due to a change in jobs. My experience living here has been great -- with such great, friendly management (who are always on top of things), respectful & quiet neighbors and a great surrounding community. Maureena is a great apartment manager & always responds quickly and stays on top of things. Dale is a very responsive maintenance guy who is always smiling & quick to give you a wave. The complex is kept very clean with pretty landscaping and a gorgeous pool area with game room. I would definitely recommend these apartments to anyone looking in this area! Torrey Pines Property Management is great, efficient & was easy to work with! read more

Maureena is wonderful, the complex is beautifully maintained and the units are great! My mother-in-law lived alone in the Village Apartments and Maureena was extremely attentive to her needs. She always took the time to listen to her and worked very hard to ensure that she was comfortable and happy. Maureena is the type of contentious person who truly cares about her tenants. If you are looking for a safe, quite complex with a beautiful pool, well maintained landscaping, friendly neighbors and a manager who will treat you with respect and who cares about you - Village Apartments is the place for you! Thank you for all your help Maureena! read more

My girlfriend and I lived in Village Apartments for a year and never had a bad experience with other residents or managers. Maureena was outstanding and ran a tight ship. When maintenance was requested, it was taken care of in a timely manner. We had the fortune of purchasing a home otherwise we would have stayed. Great complex! Safe and clean! read more

My husband, son and I have lived here for 2 years and I am continually amazed at how great of a place it is. The neighborhood is great; the apartments are in a residential area, so we are surrounded by houses. There is a large park at the bottom of the hill that we frequently take our son to and it is always well kept. The actual property that the apartments are on is beautiful. Maureena (the property manager for Village Apartments) is always planting beautiful flowers throughout the premises and making sure everything is immaculate. She is very sweet and very attentive to her tenants. Each time my husband and I have put in a maintenance request, Maureena ensures that the issue is resolved right away. She not only is very responsive, but always makes us feel like a priority. The apartment complex is a very quiet, calm place to live. All of the tenants are very friendly and I feel very safe living here. There is also a security guard that patrols at night. My family and I will often spend Saturday and Sunday afternoons hanging out by the heated pool and going in the spa (which is never overcrowded). There are also barbeques throughout the property which are frequently cleaned. Recently our refrigerator started making weird noises. We put in a maintenance request and right away Maureena responded that they were going to look at it. To our surprise, Maureena informed us the next day that the property management company decided to not only replace our refrigerator, but all of our appliances with brand new stainless steel appliances! We could not believe it. This property management company really knows how to take care of their tenants and keep them happy. I cannot say enough about how great of a place this is to live and how great the property management company is. read more

I recently moved here about 11 months ago after I left Vermont. I personally love living in this complex, it's very clean, quiet and in one of the best places to live in La Mesa. This is one of the most convenient places to live given Grossmont transit Center is less than a mile away and that will get you anywhere you need to go. The upkeep of this place is fantastic, landscapers come every week to keep everything in immaculate order. The only thing I can think of that needs improvement is this place needs to get a new coat of paint other than that there's nothing wrong. The property manager Maureena is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. She actually cares about people that live in our complex which is so rare to find these days. As you can read two people complained about her enforcing the rules but let me clarify the rules are in place to keep this complex at peak efficiency while having it still be a loving quiet community and being very clean. I personally think that the two bad reviews are because they never followed the most basic of rules of just being a good neighbor. This place it does come with the cost though, as I write this a single bedroom is 1425 and sure you would be able to get a closer place to downtown San Diego for that type of money but your living standards would be much lower than living here. We've all had horrible neighbors and for the last 11 months since I've lived here I have not had a single complaint with any neighbor there all lovely people. In conclusion I would highly recommend looking into this complex Maureena is one of the best property managers in San Diego County I would put money down on that. The complex itself is fantastic and the area you can't beat if you're looking for a quiet and safe community were very little happens. It's a great place to have a family and convenient with all the amenities near here especially because they are all within walking distance. read more
