Harry Potter and the Cursed Child- The Temu Edition I attended the opening-night performance of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on August 22, 2026, and the experience was shockingly disorganized. Before the show, guests were stuck in endless lines that appeared to lead nowhere, while other lines less than 25 feet away reached the same destination. There was no useful signage and very little staff guidance explaining where anyone was supposed to go. Inside the theater, the sound quality was atrocious. Even from Section MF2, Row AA, I frequently could not understand what the performers were saying. Ushers also repeatedly moved through the theater using bright flashlights, creating constant visual interruptions. It became impossible to remain immersed in the show. I have previously seen Cursed Child in both London and New York, so I expected some differences from a touring production....This was not simply a smaller version, however. The performances and choreography seemed poorly synchronized, while the venue's sound and audience management made an already disappointing production even worse. I was so frustrated that I left before intermission. For the price of these tickets, patrons deserve substantially better organization, sound quality, and theater management. Compared with the productions in London and New York, this genuinely felt like Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: The Temu Edition

We recently visited Paramount Theatre to watch Phantom of the Opera, and the theater itself was honestly part of the experience. The venue is stunning -- full of majestic arches, ornate architectural details, elegant balconies, and a grand old-theater atmosphere that immediately makes the evening feel special. Even before the performance starts, you already feel like you're having a real night out rather than just attending a show. The massive multi-tiered seating area is very impressive, yet the acoustics still felt excellent and immersive throughout the performance. One thing we especially enjoyed was spending time outside beforehand looking through the illuminated displays and posters for upcoming productions. It really builds anticipation and adds to the magical atmosphere of the evening. Whether you are seeing Phantom of the Opera or another performance, the Paramount feels like one of those classic theaters that turns an event into a memorable experience.

I came for a an orchestra concert here and had a great night. The acoustics are excellent -- dialogue and score came through clearly and evenly, which made the performance immersive. Seating is comfortable for a long show, with good sightlines from where I sat. I also enjoyed the outdoor areas -- nice spots to hang out before the performance and a pleasant pre-show atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. One improvement: there are no elevators, which can be difficult for those with mobility issues.

The paramount is a lovely theatre. I have attended many shows here. The staff are always really nice and helpful. I am giving four stars because of the crowding of the restrooms. I feel they should have more staff to help facilitate the flow of the restrooms, especially the women's. Overall, they have great seating and great shoes. The concession choices are limited, but still good. The staff is always accommodating. I also love how they have some showings that are friendly for neurodivergent individuals. I love the historic charm of the building as well. I highly recommend it for a great show or even just a general tour.

We drove to Seattle from Silverdale, and we were able to find parking close by, but no special theater only. We walked across the street and walked in quickly. Bags are allowed but get searched and no outside food unless for medical reasons. We found our seats and watched The Blue Man Group. I couldn't see well due to the person being tall in-front of me, but that's a short person problem. Should have gotten a booster seat, which they did have for kids.

Came here with my friend, Chookerica, for her first ever metal concert. Got to see Poppy for our first times ever and she was such a great performer! Want to rate this place high because the bathrooms were plentiful and soooo clean. Such a regal experience with the venue looking so beautiful with the intricate etchings and decorations from the rooftop down to the carpeted floors. I just do not think this is a good metal show venue... not good for an event like this because security guards shutting down the crowd surfing and pushing attendees who went to do that. Also, no one here started the circle pits and followed the performer when encouraged to do a wall of death. This venue is really not the best place to host a metal show, but at least now we know? Super duper awesome lighting show, though. Shoutout to the light production staff because best that I have ever seen a metal show have in my life. Also, the bass was quaking and I really thank the sound production staff for making this show what it could be... even though not much bc the audience was just not it.

I had the pleasure of seeing The Phantom of the Opera last night at the Paramount and omg, I sobbed the entire time. It was such a phenomenal show!! The staff here are extra awesome and helpful, and the building is so gorgeous!I will say though, lots of stairs, so if you need ADA seating, choose floor seats. My ticket was a "verified resale ticket" from Ticketmaster, and I paid $150 for one ticket in the 3rd Mezzanine. So be aware of resale prices.

Wow what a show! My favorite broadway show of all time. Venue was great. Friendly servers and lots of help to get to what we needed. They seemed pretty dialed. We sat up in the mezzanine and were very happy with the seats. Comfy enough for a long play and didn't have issues with crowding. Bars for drinks and snacks at each level. We are already planning another show!

The touring production of The Phantom of the Opera at Paramount Theatre was absolutely fantastic. The cast was incredible, and the production itself deserved a much better audience environment than what the theater allowed. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst theater etiquette experiences I've ever had. During the first act, a man seated behind us repeatedly sang along during the performance. When I politely asked him to stop, the person next to him sarcastically pointed at the stage and said, "The show is over there," while the behavior continued. Around us, multiple people talked throughout songs and scenes, and later in the evening I even saw someone openly filming the show on an iPhone. I eventually had to leave my seats (Main Floor 2, Row G) and speak to management because the disruptions were so bad I couldn't focus on the performance. The only solution offered was seats in the very back of the orchestra. By that point, the experience was already frustrating enough that it took a while to calm down and enjoy the show again. What's most disappointing is that this is the SECOND time I've experienced terrible audience behavior at this theater. I previously saw Back to the Future here and dealt with nonstop talking during that performance too. I attend theater regularly in Southern California at Segerstrom Center for the Arts and also frequently see shows in New York City. Ushers there actively monitor audience behavior and quickly shut down disruptions. At the Paramount, it felt completely unmanaged. For the prices being charged -- around $350 for my tickets through Ticketmaster -- audience members should not have to deal with talking, singing, and filming throughout a Broadway performance. Amazing production. Extremely disappointing theater management and audience control.

Went to see Les Miz (amazing show!) and it was a lovely theatre. Great view and comfy seats.

So, I'm not sure as to how or why my previous post was removed, but I would like to reiterate, the theater as in the building itself, beautiful and ornate. The staff were great and getting in and out was easy. Originally I had given 3 stars but have since changed it to 2 after my review was taken down. The girl pop group we saw. STAYC was great and had good energy. However, the sound mixing was either done so poorly or too loud for the type of music. You could not even hear any of the girls live vocals and could barely hear the backing tracks outside of the booming bass. Bad acoustics. I feel bad for them as this was the first stop of their US tour after having not been in the states for two years. The other item of note was that the drink prices are astronomical. As stated in my previous review, a double call of Jamison was $36.00. Add on a can of IPA plus tip boom, that's $56. Highway robbery imo. My advice is pre-gaming is highly advisable. Will not be attending anymore events here. Would rather road trip to another stop to see someone playing here.

Seeing & Juliet

The Paramount Theater is timeless, from it's large sparkling marquee sign, to its stunning interior. This theater seats around 2,800 people and has hosted well-known musicals such as Hamilton and The Lion King. We've attended many musicals in this theater such as & Juliet, Book of Mormon, Wicked, Moulin Rouge, Phantom of the Opera, etc. We've always admired the french inspired interior and the quality acoustics. This theater has 3 levels of seating and no elevators. The theme death by stairs comes to mind. We've always selected the first mezzanine area for a better view of the stage. There are a couple of bar stations for general admissions. One is located on the main floor and the other is on the second floor. Sometimes they add an option to purchase VIP tickets which will have access to a dedicated VIP area that also has bar. The most important thing to remember when purchasing drinks is that you can take it inside the theater to consume. This is made possible with the use of their drink sip cups. These cups can also be taken home and reused for another event. Drink selections are fairly standard with some cocktails, wines, beers, soda, and water. They also offer snacks and candies. I recommend pre-ordering drinks to save time during intermission. Now for the most important question. Where are the restrooms? Buckle up for this mind boggling design detail. The main restrooms are located in the basement. There are a couple of ADA restrooms on the main floor under the staircase. The wait line to use the base restroom does get long, however it does move fast. Attendants are readily available to ensure the facilities are clean. Aside from these design quirks, this theater is a very well-maintained historical landmark.

This is a classic Seattle theater venue, which brings good shows to Seattle. There is not much legroom however they have the seats well angled so that you can still see from behind folks. It still has some of its original architectural details, which is beautiful to see and takes you back in time.

Ask the Community - Paramount Theatre

Going to a metal concert here soon, my tickets have seat numbers assigned, and these are on the main floor. Do people sit/stand at their assigned seat numbers for metal concerts here? Or does the theatre remove the seats?

I haven't been to a metal concert, but I've been to others where you just sit/stand at your seat. This is a historic theater. I have never seen them remove the seats.

If you have a medical/religious exemption from the vaccine are you still able to attend a show at the venue?

You need a negative test result.

For concerts are the main floor seats removed for the pit, or do u stand there with all the seats in the way?

Seats are removed.

Does the theater have air conditioning?

The Paramount does have air conditioning.

Going to a concert here in a few weeks, wondering if there is any room to stand or dance or if I should be expecting to sit for the show? Thanks!

You will be sitting the entire time. Seating is a bit tight too.

If you sit below the balcony overhang, like in row JJ, will you still be able to see the higher parts of the stage (like where the lights are)? Or will the balcony block the view of the higher part of the stage?

The balcony won't block your view of the stage but depending on your luck, a tall audience member who may sit in front of you might block your view. The theater seats are on a downward slope so the view of the stage will be clear but I find it that…

My husband and I are going to see a play here and we have the option of 2 different seatings. We can either sit in Mez11/RowB/#1-2 ~OR~ MF4/RowO/#7-8. The price is the same, but I'm curious what others would consider the better seats? Thanks!

We have seats in Mez14 row f or something like that. The seats are great and we have seen 6 or 7 shows already in those seats. I have also sat on the lower level, but much further back. I personally prefer the Mez seats. I like the view you get and…

Is row X too far under the balcony?

No. It's ok.

Their certificate of destruction and their residential pickup services really sold it for me. They're not able to reserve a particular time slot/frame, you can request an ideal range but know if they can't arrive you'll need to go in person or reschedule to another day. If you do need to reschedule the pickup for a day with more flex, be sure to notify them right away so they can update the driver. For me, the flat fee was $75 but this could range for others (depending on items being picked up, distance, etc.). Payment was through an online portal, with a link sent in the scheduling email. I had originally requested pickup before 12pm, as timing would have it, I was delayed and was still at my apartment when the driver did arrive about 2 hours later. Everything worked out, the driver was very nice and was able to take my items (no paperwork to fill or was provided).

Man - how you gonna give a homeless shelter a bad review?…read more Lemme tell you how - I drove for an hour to drop food off to Mary's Place on a day we were instructed to come down on. Your lack of ingenuity drove me with my goods away to donate elsewhere and while I hate to do something as petty as yelping a homeless shelter (what sort of world is this?) - I have to give you this feedback. Do better, please. Our homeless needs resourcefulness.

It feels terrible to give a non-profit organization a "review," let alone a bad one. However, my…read moreone and only experience with Mary's Place was so negative that I'm hoping that this post inspires some changes. I arrived at Mary's Place five days after losing my housing, at the referral and suggestion of a social worker. I hadn't really eaten since being on the street. It was pouring rain and absolutely freezing outside. I was drenched from exposure and very much looking forward to breakfast, a hot shower, some community. When I arrived I was directed to the basement, which is where the day center and facilities are. My first impression, upon reaching the lower level, is that Mary's Place is halfway between a dungeon and a casino. It was dank, smelly, and there were no windows. I imagine that one could lose a lot of time down there, if not vigilant. Nonetheless, I was warmly received by a caseworker, who took me through a brief intake and left me a list of services and resources. Then I lined up for breakfast, which was a HORROR SHOW. To say that I'm an "adventurous" eater is an understatement. Prior to becoming homeless, I was a professional woman who traveled extensively. I've eaten more sketchy street food than Anthony Bourdain. So I've had my share of "Delhi Belly." I also ate a hamburger out of the trash once. (In my defense, I was in college and I was drunk.) Moreover, I'm generally grateful for free stuff and not a complainer. But Mary's Place is serving food below Third World standards. I was appalled when staff pulled OLD, MOLDY PANCAKES out of a cold storage bin, loosely covered in mangled foil. Then they stuck those nasty flapjacks in a toaster to "warm them up." Given that the pancakes had been sitting in the fridge in their own condensation -- you just know that Mary's Place didn't follow basic safe food handling guidelines, which requires pancakes to cool to room temperature before storing them in an airtight container -- it's extremely hazardous to be serving them. Not to mention that it's just morally s***y to serve rotten, substandard food to vulnerable people. But stupid me, I cut away the mold and proceeded to scarf those pancakes down. I was hungry and cold and I have a stomach made of iron. I decided to take my chances. After breakfast I signed up for a shower. I was the only one in line and I soon found out why: there's absolutely no hot water. I don't mean that the water was tepid, inconsistent, or took time to warm up. I mean that I turned on the faucet and let it run for almost 30 minutes and it was still ICE COLD. I'd just spent the night getting whipped in the face by an arctic cold wind and rain, huddled in a doorway. The last thing I want to replicate is that same feeling in the shower, right after I wake up. I'd rather take my chances at one of the urban rest stops, even if it means dealing with testosterone and aggression. At least the guys have warm water! Realizing that Mary's Place had nothing to offer me, I promptly left the day center. However, the staff and social workers were trying to get me to stay and join one of their groups -- memoir writing, nail painting, crochet -- that does absolutely nothing to empower their clients economically. I was on my way to a job interview and all I needed was some decent, non-moldy food in my stomach and a shower to make myself presentable. Shortly after I left, I realized that the "breakfast" had given me food poisoning. I spent the rest of the morning puking and pooping in a Starbucks bathroom, regretting every bite of those damned pancakes. TLDR: - DO NOT DONATE OR GIVE TO AN INEFFECTIVE NPO - IT'S HORRIBLE TO SERVE ROTTEN FOOD TO THE VULNERABLE - THERE ARE BETTER ORGANIZATIONS OUT THERE Organizations I'd support instead of Mary's Place: - Uplift Northwest - Recovery Cafe - Northwest Share - Urban Rest Stop Downtown - University Heights Center - Seattle Mutual Aid Coalition Response to Mary's Place Staff: I'm glad the showers work and it was a temporary snafu. However, the pancakes DID have spots of green mold on them. I think a more appropriate response, rather than minimizing a potentially dangerous food poisoning situation, might be, "Mary's Place will look into this and ensure that our staff and volunteers have a WA Food Handler's Permit if serving clients. We will also revisit safe food handling and storage procedures as a team."
