Bargain hunting at the swap meet
    Ray M.

Cool swap meet though most vendors sell the exact same products. First visit in over twenty five years. There were MANY empty vendor spaces. Perhaps it was the cold weather on the day i visited or perhaps this is the way it always is at this swap meet. I still made a few purchases for items for my truck but I don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon

Paramount Swap Meet has been around since 1955 and it is one of the few swap meets that open 7 days a week. The marketplace is located in the same lot as the Paramount Drive-In Theatres. Free parking is available with plenty of available spots to park after 12 PM, but you can also pay $2 for a preferred parking spot on Saturday. Personally I wouldn't pay for preferred parking because it is just few minutes of additional walk from the free lot to the front entrance. Entrance fee: $2 per person. I didn't find anything unique for this swap meet. Whatever items you get here (e.g. construction safety vests & hats, kitchen wares, mattresses, soccer balls, detergents, power tools, various video games, etc) then you can probably find them at other local swap meets. Our party got here a bit late (1 PM) and some vendors already closed down before 3 PM. Face cover is required for entry, but not everyone really follows the rule so just be on the lookout. It's a-okay place to check out, but I wouldn't drive out of the way just to visit here.

Driving down Paramount and I saw this was open. Sure I'll pay a dollar and go inside. I just always remember swap meets being a weekend thing but how fun! I did find some amazing deals. I got the coolest shirt for a dollar. That was awesome. I might make a routine of this. Get some exercise go on a dig -athon. Then carry the big bags of clothes all around the parking lot total workout! Win-win all the way around! This might be the only way to work out !

I've been coming to this swap-meet for years but now I don't go as much as I used to due to the fact that a lot of the things sell for prices similar to the stores or mall. I remember this was the place to go and get a lot and not spend so much. This last time I went I didn't buy a lot and I still walked out with having spent close to $70 and I had to watch what I spent money on because some things just seemed better for me to buy at the store and have the option of returning or exchanging. It's still pretty cool to go and walk around and look at stuff that is something that hasn't changed. I was surprised when I went they had a live band playing and there were taco trucks. Entry is $2 for adults. I get parking on Somerset, theres also parking on Rosecrans. Also I recommend going on a Sunday when there's a lot of stands, I've gone on Saturdays and there's not much.

    Plenty of TP

Ehh your basic swapmeet standard vendors new & used tools,home/kitchen items, kids toys, knockoff gear etc.. Nike & Addidas shoes $25-$35 levi gear $20-25 buy at your own risk. NO FOOD/BEVERAGE VENDORS AS OF THIS DATE so be sure to come well fed & definitely bring a beverage or 2. Bathrooms are constantly being sanitized & capacity is enforced. PROS: -Plenty of Parking -Bathrooms are kept clean -Some vendors bargain -Some stands w/sports headwear -Plenty of work/construction clothing/gear Cons: -No Food or beverage stands -No skate/surf clothing -Little to none Sports clothing

Great mix of new and used treasures, while listening to live bands in the background. Paid $2 each to get in and parking was free.

Security guys are very rude with the people, You should put people who like to treat others well. It's my only complaint.

All of their proceeds support our American heroes, so please visit this location. AMVETS, Dept. of CA Service Foundation - Visit: www.amvetscasf.org LOCATION: It is located in a complex across the street from the Winco grocery store. There are plenty of parking spaces. HOURS 9AM-7PM DONATION: Hours of Operation for Donations: Everyday 9AM-7PM Towards the back of the building is the donation area. They are pretty accepting of anything you'd like to give. I usually put them in a garbage bag and they sort it themselves. Very easy! They DO NOT take: Baby items Bed frames Food Printers ***Ask for a donation receipt, so you can file it with your taxes. SHOP: The store is organized pretty well. Clothes are organized by color. They have shoes, blankets, art, books, electronics, and house items. The aisles are wide enough to skim through clothing with a cart. Enjoy the treasure hunt! You can find great clothes and brand name items here. The prices are awesome too! I would say $10 or less for most clothing pieces. PRICE TAGS: ***If your item does not have a tag, they cannot sell it to you. Honor their store policy and respect the employees. SERVICE: The cashiers were friendly and efficient. *All in all if you enjoy thrifting and finding one of a kind fashion, I recommend shopping at AMVETS. Not only are you supporting the local community, but you are investing in our American Veterans as well! Happy Shopping!

WORST EXPERIENCE under the new management!! I've been shopping at Value Village for years and this…read morenew management is overpricing everything, used donated clothes more expensive than at a retail store. I took a jacket to the register priced at $4.98 and the woman at the register tells me "wrong price" "this new" "DKNY is $29.98 brand name" I'm trying to understand what she's telling me but she rips off the price tag, which is actually stapled to the garment, she crumples up the price tag and puts the jacket behind her. I told her that item is absolutely not new bc it looked used but she said "it's DKNY it's $29.98" at this time an older gentleman comes and tells me the prices seem high but everything is 50% off so I asked isn't that price gouging and then advertising 50% to attract customers but he wouldn't let me talk. Then I asked where is the profit going from this new management and he said "schools and churches" so I asked which ones and he told me "that's private and we cannot tell" at this time the cashier at the other register (a granddaughter I believe bc she kept trying to get his attention while he was talking to me calling him "babba" and something in another language I couldn't understand but she was basically trying to make him stop talking to me, so rude she could've said whatever she wanted in English so I could understand what she was saying but she chose not to) while I talked to the older gentleman she was butting in saying their prices are not high and that they price their items according to what they sell for ONLINE, I said well this is a THRIFT STORE and the items are donated so why are you going by online prices?? She rolled her eyes and started ringing up another customer. When I was exiting the store a woman told me "I'm glad you stood up to them, I can't believe their prices I'm never coming back" I told her I just wanted to understand why their prices are higher and where is the profit going bc maybe it's worth my while but their answers didn't seem satisfactory to me so I'm ALSO NEVER SHOPPING THERE AGAIN!! I also noticed they had racks full of brand new clothing from Costco and maybe Target, like the pallets of overstock or salvaged items that many "bin stores" have so I dunno if they're using the thrift store as a STORE FRONT for their own business of selling pallet items. I will take my business elsewhere. Not a true thrift store anymore, STAY AWAY!!! Ps. Also the nice older lady cashiers are gone as well and it seems all members of the same family run this "business" now
