It's one of the most unique antique malls I've ever been to. According to the owner, it used to be a rainforest educational center for kids that was founded and run by disney employee, and became a antique mall almost 30 years ago. So, that's where the waterfalls and lake come from! You will find a lot of unique treasures here too. I only picked up a couple of small things, but I'm very picky...and running low on space haha! Plus, a friendly cat named Luna works here, what more could you ask for! Definitely a must to stop at if you are in or near Hawaiian Gardens!

Is this heaven?…read more Apparently I've been antique store shopping all wrong because Gum's blows everything else out of the water. It's like a theme park practically without rides. There's the usual vendor booths that I'm guessing are rented? They're themed accordingly. There's a hidden rail car of sorts, there's uranium glass, there's laser discs, there's all sorts of magazines, there's action figures, there's Joe jost tees. There's EVERYTHING. Heck. There's even benches placed around for you to sit. There's turtles to feed and a really sweet kitty named Luna who loves to be pet upstairs. The cockatoo in the main photo has since passed but apparently they were awesome. The people working here are super knowledgeable and helpful so you don't have to dig around if you don't feel like it (I live for the treasure hunt personally). Prices are beyond fair and they even have marked sales and events for deeper discounts. This place is seriously a dream.

I needed to stock up on my sage spray, as I know that sage itself can be a bit too strong for some spaces. The spray is perfect for cleansing certain energies when I'm on the go. Ventilation is much better here compared to the warehouse from before, and they've taken care to add some fun murals throughout the store. It's possible they put the popcorn machine away for the event, but I'm hopeful the next time it'll be back by the entrance; it's a staple! My main critique with the former space was that much of the costume jewelry and trinkets were behind glass. Part of the fun of antiquing for me is being able to touch, feel, and engage with historical pieces - it seems like the new setting has solved for this. I found a fantastic tapestry finger purse from JR Miami 1950s-1960s for $20 (one of the ladies who works there told me she nearly bought it that morning) and a sweet $3 footed teacup I'll upcycle for my plant collection, I recognized some of the booths, so I'm glad they were able to move with LB Antiques. If your dog is well-behaved, they are also super dog-friendly here and your pooch will have a field day sniffing all the textiles and curios. My only remaining gripe - and it was a gripe when the space was still Joann's - is the parking can be gnarly getting into! as someone who is still mourning the loss of joanns fabric, but also loves antique stores, when i…read morewas driving past and saw a new store opened in place of my beloved fabric store i knew i had to go in and see what had become of her. i will say they definitely have a bit of everything and have really filled every inch of the space, i barely scratched the surface on my visit. i was also impressed with there collection of uranium products as i've never seen it in person before. this is about where the good part of the review ends for me. while i would say the sheer volume of definitely was a bit overwhelming and the actual product seemed like it caters to the neighborhood/ lakewood which is fitting, but also i might be scared i would find some questionable things while searching too deep in this store, but at the very least i would say i am not the target audience. additionally everything i picked up seemed to be pretty overpriced compared to other antique places in the area. as far as the actual experience goes, i would say subpar at best. when we walked in we made eye contact with the ladies working the front and said hello, but they just ignored us and looked away. a while later we were looking at an area near the front of the store and a worker was grabbing something from a door nearby and looked visibly annoyed like we were in her way but didn't say anything so it was just an unpleasant interaction. with all this considered, we decided to just leave and not get anything so i can't speak on what the checkout experience is like. overall i'm glad that i stopped in to see what's become of the place, but i can't say that ill be coming back. rest in paradise joaan's i miss you every day

Wow, I absolutely love this place…read more This place is woman owned and locally owned. She actually owns one of my favorite Mexican brunch restaurants. I had the pleasure of her son taking care of me at their restaurant and he told me all about his moms other place (the pink romantic home) Her restaurant is - mother's kitchen and on the day I came in, her son was our lovely waiter. Unfortunately, the owner was not there. Her son said she splits her time between the restaurant and the pink home. Not to throw him under the bus and embarrass him (lol) but he was absolutely glowing while talking about his mom and how the restaurant really reflects her style (the restaurant looks just like the cottage) and how these are both of her passions and she's amazing at both of them. My room and living room are shabby chic and this color scheme. It's very very girly. I am not gonna lie, I am very very jealous of how beautiful her place is. This is what I imagine heaven looking like They have street parking and a parking lot. Check the hours before making your way over here As soon as I walked in, Jazmine greeted me. I believe she said the owner is her Godmother. This gem of a store carries soaps imported from France, soy candles from local small businesses I recognize, and luxurious bohemian-inspired apparel to name just a few. While prices won't necessarily be inexpensive - those plush pom pom slippers may run you about $50 - it's the perfect boutique to find unique gifts for birthdays, bridesmaids, and best friends. The associates are jovial and help make the atmosphere inviting (with Ella Fitzgerald playing in the background, I could practically live here)! You'll find apparel, children's, and accessories to the right of the store and kitchen and home goods to the left. From the antique grand piano to the repurposed phone booth, Pink Romantic is a place I wouldn't mind returning to!
