Woah, nelly. If this ain't the mother of all swap meets. My boyfriend and I like to frequent swap meets because they're great for getting walks in after a heavy breakfast and scoping out deals. We've been to the Gardena one a few times, but wanted to check out a new one, so we headed over here. This place is HUGE. Again, HUGE. Decent parking with a preferred lot for $3, but free parking is available at a short distance away. There were SO many stands here. A lot of the same, but some cool ones with unique things that you won't find at other swap meets. There is an admission fee of $2 on the weekends and $1 during the week. I can see how that would piss some people off, but this place really is so big and I didn't mind dishing out the $2 to support swap meets like this. There seemed to be a lot of great deals here. Oh, there were also some stands with fresh fruit, veggies, honey, nuts..I really wasn't expecting that at all. All in all a great swap meet with great variety. Few tips: 1. bring cash (that's a given). 2. The sun BEAMS on you..if you get hot easily like I do, dress cool and/or bring an umbrella to give you some shade. I saw a bunch of people who used umbrellas to shade themselves and I found myself being incredibly jealous. 3. Didn't see bathrooms, but I'm sure there are some. Maybe over by the food court they have? 4. Yeah, there's a mini food court. Great find. They close at 3 on the weekends and we showed up at two. We left at three, however, and they were still letting people in, so I guess they play it by ear. You can find everything here: shoes, clothes, mops, batteries, bikes, toys, spices, furniture, Korean messages for five bucks, and you can even book a photographer for your kid's quinceanera! Keep in mind, this is a ghetto swapmeet in da hood, so you are gonna get what you pay for. The quality is not the best, but just think about it, 7 t-shirts for $10 bucks and 12 pairs of socks for $5 with the opportunity to still haggle? Why freaken not? Admission is $2, parking is free, credit cards are not accepted, and they don't charge tax. And don't forget to pickup up a churro or two! read more

It has always been my notion that if you are not used to something you will not like it . So sorry for those that could not see beyond their poor eyesores. Because I like to keep balance with pros and cons, now for the missed-out positives on this place. Come for the great deals on SHOES and TOPS ladies. You will find lots of cute stuff for very very cheap. Gents come for sales on COTTON SOCKS (WHITE AND BLACK) and T-shirts. Have kids that destroy their toys as soon as they get them? Here is a spot for you! You wont find toys this cheap in most places. Come here for the other things you may have overlooked and you need, like new packs of cotton underwear for the rest of the year. Overall a great place to stock up on basic wardrobe and household goods like soap and toilet paper. Best time to come is on Tuesday mornings. I tagged along with my mom on a Tuesday at 8 AM and the parking lot on Somerset was already pretty packed. It's $1 entrance fee per person on weekdays and I think $2 on weekends/holidays. This swap meet sells so many stuff! Fabric, plants, clothes, old stuff, etc etc. The vendors are mostly Hispanic or Korean but they all speak English. My mom go here to buy her plants and fabrics to sew stuff. She also likes to buy clothes for our relatives in Vietnam here because it is pretty cheap! If you're lucky, one article of clothing can be as cheap at $1! You just have to put in the effort to sort it through the piles and piles of clothes. If time wasn't an issue, you would be amazed about all the gems you can find at this swap meet! I used to go here more often with my mom when I was younger during summer breaks. They have great deals on everything from T.Vs, make-up, kitchen appliances, clothes...and even back massages..awesome! It even has it's own air conditioned indoor/outdoor food place...so convenient! paramount swap meet is a place that me and my family have been going to for over 30 years. today I had my first bad experienc. I just got back to California after years and f being deployed over seas and of course one of the first places I wanted to visit was the good old paramount swap meet. My moms brother just passed and my aunty and I decided to get a few things ha to decorate the church with from the swap. My aunt is much older and was getting dizzy while both our hands were full of heavy load. We had 5 bags to pick up that were payed for just inside of the gate. we asked the securitygyard if we could just take what we had and come back to grab the 5 bags and be on our way hom. instead of being courteous he decided to question me the way an LA cop would and mock me by asking if I was a vendor and not with genuine curiosit. It was very obvious with my bags in hand that I was not a vendor. He was very aggressive from a simple request and made me feel extremely unwelcomed. He was right in front of the place I needed to pick up the bags and could have at least offered to grab them for me which would have been good service as he was accompanied by another security ho was standing post. He exuded I necessary machismo and zero customer service. the young African American man seemed to be more willing to work with us but the Hispanic security was not willing to help at all. I understand that rules are rules however I was not going back in there to shop but to grab what I had already payed for. Our family has now 4 generations that love to shop here. unless he is replaced I'm not walking in there again period. there are good people who need jobs and I will be filing a report against him to the city and to his company. read more

I use to come here as a grade school kid back in the 90's.. this place was awesom back then! They had good things as I could remember, and the admission was $0.50 to $0.75 cents tops!! Fast forward years later and this place sucks!! The admission fee is $2.00! Not worth it in my opinion! The free parking Is terrible, with a bunch of idiots who don't know how to drive.. if you want preferred parking it's an additional $2.00! And guess what? This open air flea market is huge ! Lol and Sooo very crowded ! They have some pretty good deals on everything just don't rush to buy it as soon as you see it chances are if you walk more you will find the same item at more than one stand for cheaper! I noticed the ones by the entrance were a bit more pricey! So go prepared to bargain because you will be doing a whole lot of it! Lol Flea Markets ! There is a lady forgot her name but she has luxury name brands Ferragamo, Gucci, Versace , Channel at some great prices ! I usually don't like coming to this places because is open, but my son wanted to go find Pokémon cards, we found some lady on L5 her name is Elizabeth sells them but there fake she sold my son a pack for $25 and only the front was real that single card had a price of $2.75 we went right back and she said no money back or exchanges I explained to her that it wasn't fear so she said you can give me $5 more the other pack are 100% real well same thing happened only the front one and they changed the package inside instead of single little packing cards is a box full of fake and crappy cards, we went to the main office to explain the situation the managers name is Fernando he said that the venders can set their own prices regardless is fake or real, we google the box she sold us and is $14.99 she charged my son $30, my son was really heartbroken he saved that money for weeks. We were so upset that we even left the crappy cards on her stand and left. Now is not only me that's not going back to this place but also my whole family and i will make sure to let everyone one I know to don't go either, this lady stole from a little kid and that's is bad luck for her and her business. Fernando is helpless and venders can't be setting high prices criminal violation in California under penal code section 396 and more effective now that we are in a pandemic. read more

Today was my first time going here. If you are like me and enjoy used clothes this is perfect! I love deals and used things. You do have to look a little bit, but it is so worth it. I don't recommend this for people who aren't into walking and taking their time to find hidden treasures/gems. It is a pretty big space as well. The weather is nice too. Well its 2:33pm Saturday August 13-2016 Left the swap meet less than an hour ago... Pros... Free Parking very short distance away 2.A few great finds a. jeans (not the $10.00 skinny jeans/leggins that are $10.00 at EVERY swapmeet-NOT-A- DEAL) B.$1.00 panties that were cute, new taken out of packs in front of me 3. Can walk off a few pounds between the heat and large area.... Cons-$2 entry per person. SAD 2.Alllll that heat and hardly any place to buy ice cold water or drink.. It was closed before we left that quick..WHaaaaaaat? I was so HOT & THIRSTY... There was a lady on one side selling fruity frozen bars... 3. Nothing special at alllllllll. The sock lady was taking 1 pair out of socks of the 4packs now 3pairs selling 3 for $5 makes 9pairs instead of 12pairs----SHADY GIRL. That's not even 2/$1 as is the Dollar store.... I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Granted, some stuff isn't worth walking down the isles drenching in sweat (it's open air so it can get really hot), but there are some really good vendors with some ridiculously competitive prices. Also, they don't just sell clothes and jewelry -- they have plants (chiles, mint, flowers...)! I love this place because it runs the gamut. I mean, they even sell household cleaning products and some "as seen on TV stuff." Regardless, be cautious before you buy anything as the previous reviewer mentioned becoming ill after purchasing a hammock. We went on a Saturday and the area was about half full, not sure if this is now usual or a slow day. As some others have said, it's not really people selling their own stuff (i.e., yard sales), it's mostly people selling cheap off-brand imports or regular store remainders (i.e., like a Ross or Dollar Store in a pop-up tent). This Swap meet has a lot of stuff depending on the day you go. weekends and Tuesdays are generally the best days to go because there's more stuff and better deals and the vendors are pretty easy to negotiate with. Btw, cash only! This is not a high end place whatsoever, so don't go to it if you are someone who needs air conditioning and a super clean place to shop, this is not the place. The location of the place really defines it. The ground is not flat, it's outdoors and if it's full, it can be a frustrating experience. There are no pets or outside foods aloud. This is annoying, yes, but there are rules at the door. Just because it's not the most official looking place doesn't mean you can just bypass the rules. On to the shopping experience. Deals are everywhere, granted it's not the best quality stuff but hey, you can go with $100 and get A LOT of stuff, especially around the holidays. The small food court is generally bad because it's so overpriced. Always take water (that is the one exception), because the sun is hot and the water in there is very pricey. The churros are good though. The employees do their best, and anyone who's worked in retail knows that working in the conditions they work in is hell, so don't give them crap for rules and things that they don't control. Yes there's an admission fee ($1 weekdays, $2 weekends) and a parking fee for preferred parking(price depends on day). Overall, alright quality stuff for extremely cheap but not a great overall experience, but hey it's a flea market so you can't expect a shopping mall experience. read more

I have been visited rarely for many years ago going into the swap meet in the city of Paramount. It is an all outdoor flea market, I believe that swap meet is open 7 days a week including holidays. I was visited for the first time when I was 10 years old for buying some junk stuff. Will I find the cheaper clothes, vintages, accessories, and electronics to afford them? I will find it here to explore and hunt these products. They are all cheaper for looking their new and old clothes, vintage, electronics, furniture, treasures, gems, jewelry, shoes, toys, and many more that many products are made in China and Korea. They are also lots of tools and metals. They are many aisles in the entire swap meet in alphabetical order. The food are also included inside this swap meet. They are selling some ice cream, lemonade, shaved ice, iced tea, sodas, nachos, hot dogs, hamburgers, chicharrones, water, and many more in the food court, small kiosks, and booths. They also sell beer and other alcoholic beverages. The restrooms are located nearby the food court and cinema, they are very large and huge but they are smelled like urine, many residues, graffiti, vandalism, and not cleans. They are disgusting for those. There are parking spaces in the parking lot, but some of them are charge with $2 for preferred parking or less or even free. You need to use cash only to afford these products. On Tuesdays, I will explore everything in the entire place to admit the swap meet in the future. read more

Paramount Swapmeet mall! Thats the word on the streets. This has to be one of paramounts best kept secrets, and there's a reason why. I know what your thinking, "a Swapmeet?". Well this isn't your ordinary Swapmeet. I'll write this review the same way I explained to my friend. This Swapmeet is no joke. All business. It's ran by professionals who follow very strict rules. You wont find any of those misconceptions that fall under your ordinary weekend Swapmeet. I told my friend, "picture Ross, tjmax, marshals, ikea, kragen auto parts, 99cent stores and any other store you go to for everyday use. Now lay that accros a couple acres of space. That's paramount Swapmeet!". You can literally find anything here. Brand name clothing, tools, cars, furniture.... I know it's sounds to good to be true. Right? Well my friend asked "How are you sure that Swapmeet has all that stuff?". I know because of been going to this Swapmeet since I was 5 and half of my family had booths there. Anything I've ever needed I've bought at that Swapmeet. I continued to explain that this Swapmeet is open everyday of the week and that Tuesday are the days when vendors from all over California come to sell brand name clothing. Tuesdays are wholesale days. Vendors sell at a lower price because of the customers who come and buy in bulk. These customers then re-sale at other swapmeets or their place of business at a higher prices. While the Paramount Swap Meet attempts to revive the swinging swapmeet scene of the 1970s, it just doesnt cut it. Swap meets are indeed a Latino thing. We Latinos live for this kind of shit - outdoor markets are in our blood. Like the first reviewer said, we'd rather foolishly pay more for stuff at our beloved swap meets, even though we could get the same thing at walmart for less. But the Paramount Swap Meet just doesnt have the same ambiance as the cool swap meets of the 70s and early 80s. It used to be you could find a mixture of vendors selling old and new stuff. True swap meets have sellers selling old stuff from their garages - this is where one man's trash was indeed another man's treasure. But the swap meets of yesteryears are no more. Paramount Swap Meet simply has too much resellers of crap you can buy in downtown LA. There is no variation - it seems like every vendor is selling cheap jewelry and hair accessories made in China. While there are a few vendors selling old, second-hand stuff, these are not true treasures from their garages. It seems like many Latinos have taken to finding old shit that people leave for free in their front yards, and trying to "fix" them and resell them. You can tell by the variety of goods they have - these are simply not collections by one household. Its stuff they find in the streets and try to sell. And it sucks. All in all, the Paramount Swap Meet is a waste of time. There are no deals to be found here. At least, there's nothing here that you cant find elsewhere for the same price or less. So save yourself the time, the one dollar admision, the sunburn, overpriced cokes and hard stares (if you're a gringo) because it aint all that. But dont try to tell this to your Latino family because they aint gonna listen to none of that. read more

What the hell! This place is so ghetto!! If you are a male and you are not overweight/obese, avoid this place! Most of the clothes for men were gigantic! Everything here left a, whatevers impression(lots of crappy counterfeit/sketchy/old looking stuff) and even the churros from the stands around were stale. I like old used treasures - this is not the place if that is what your looking for. this is the place if you want counterfeit sunglasses from china in bulk. We came strait here and came to the snack bar in the middle of the swap meet. Everything they sell has been frozen. They are so rude! They must hate working here! When I payed was offered mineral water instead of Pepsi, I payed for. When I was given my food I was told that there not allowed to give mineral water. I hope we don't get the runs later. read more

Don't waste your money or time here, about 80% of the tents sell the same things, there is no variety. I've usually gone on Saturday mornings after 9am and most of the vendors are either still setting up or they are just not going to show up. All I ever seem to spend my money on is parking, entrance fee and on something to drink, I might as well just stayed home. read more

Depending on which day you go certain vendors are there more than others. Their food court is nice and air conditioned. Parking is nice and easy, and the price is really fair to get in. Behind the Santa Fe Springs, this is my 2nd favorite outdoor swap meet in all of LA. Same prices, Same quality. Like every month I shall return. =) read more

Recently checked it out and while it was fun to explore somewhere new, we won't be going back. First they charge $2 for preferred parking and $1 pp whereas other places it is much less or free. For crafters, there are much better options, and if you are looking for vintage, there is very little and most of it junk (and not the good kind of junk, at least not for me). If you are looking for a big place that looks like they knocked off a 99 cents store or want cheap clothing and have the patience to search through to find mass produced Chinese/ Korean downtown made stuff, then you will be in heaven. Lots of tools too. If you live close might be worth checking it out if you have never been, but if you are a treasure hunter, you might be better served elsewhere. read more

This place might as well be one giant over priced store front. Every booth is the same. And nothing is cheap. Be careful because for some items they will try to over charge you. No one is willing to barter or negotiate the price. The only good thing about this place is the few booths that have the large random piles of old and damaged miscellaneous stuff for 1 dollar or 50 cents or 2 dollars. I guess you have a chance of making your trip here worth while. I went on a Sunday, it was kinda full. I will never go back. Make sure you chalk online before buying anything because you 9 times out of ten you can find it much cheaper. read more

The only good things here are the $1 name brand nail polish and the churros, other than that, I don't know what to tell you. I can find cheaper clothes at H&M and it's bette quality! I only go on Tuesdays or Sundays since those are the only days you will find the most stands. Love going on Tuesdays since i find more things and better prices. And because my nail supplier is there. She gives really good prices and great quality supplies different brands to choose from. If your in the nail tech business check her out her name is Ceci she also sells jewelry. The only thing i dislike is the parking. OMG! If you are not there early expect to be looking and waiting for a parking spot. read more
