It wasn't until much later that I was told they didn't have availability and was asked if I wanted to reschedule for later that week. I understand that unexpected situations can arise and schedules can change. However, what was most disappointing was the lack of communication. My time is valuable too, and a quick call or text letting me know there was an issue would have been appreciated and would have prevented me from rearranging my day unnecessarily. I saw him posting a lot of good pictures online and I figured i thought I'd give him a shot. We got in touch we spoke about a few jobs I have that I need help with and he said he can help me. I told him the requirements that we have and he said no problem he can get this to us. - Insurance certificate with our name on it before he starts working. - Take before, During and After pictures. This was June 19th week. June 23rd. I contacted him asking him if he was still planning on going to the clients home on Saturday to do the work. He responded yes. He told me it would be done by Sunday. It wasn't and he didn't contact me to let me know. (Very frustrating as I shouldn't be continuously contacting him). The job wasn't done over the weekend. The job was supposedly going to be done on the following Tuesday but it didn't until Wednesday. I understand weather permitting, however he never told me that he was coming out the following day. Wednesday supposedly the job was completed but it wasn't. This was a 1 man - 2 day job and pretty cut and dry project. Thursday June 29th I reached out to Dan about his project. I had to stop out at the property to find the fence installed has major issues since he never sent me the pictures. 1. Posts are loosely in the ground. They move and jiggle around. They aren't solidly in the ground as they should be. 2. The fence is chipped and cracked in several areas along the hinge areas very visible. 3. One post is being held up by a bungie cord - because the post isn't solid and is loose. 4. One post is crooked. 5. On one side of the home the fence isn't flush with the home as it should be. There is a piece of fence between the gas meter and the post loosely standing there. 6. The hinges on the left side of the garage are facing out and the one on the right side of the home are on the inside. 7. The gate can't open clearly due to the gas meter being in the way. Per the previous fence the gate opened as it was in the middle. 8. The gate on the left side was supposed to be 48" and 36" on the right side. He responded blaming me for picking out the worst materials to have installed. "Clients choice". It's a crappy installation. See the attachments. Dan asked me what I'm charging for labor and I responded; What I charge for labor or for the job has NOTHING to do with your quality of work period! He offered to have this fixed on the 4th of July and I declined as my client is having guests over this holiday weekend. This should have been fixed before the weekend not when it's convenient for him. This crappy installation can hurt my business reputation. He has used volger language with me and has threatened me because I've brought this to his attention. I had to get my attorney involved as he's acting out of control instead of fixing the problem so he can get paid. Update 7/13/18 The project is still incomplete. Unfortunately we have had to get our attorney involved since Dan has made severe threats after leaving this review online. Additionally he isn't willing to work with us and get it done how our contract with our client states. "Dans texts below; The next thing I say to you will be face to face. I'm done with the text talk. Maybe reconsider the way you talk to people, it may run some the wrong way I FUCKING TOLD YOU I WAS GOING TO ADDRESS THE ISSUES. It was a chore just to set up an appointment, but I was able to book him a couple weeks out. He did come prior to provide an estimate and scope of work, and all seemed fine. Ken did what I thought to be a good job, and he talked me through what options I had along with the work that he did. He was professional. Unfortunately that's where it ended. I had to plug something into the outlet behind my fridge a few days later so I moved it out a few inches, plugged in my device, and thought nothing else of the task. Later in the day, my wife tells me that there is water all over the floor. Apparently the copper line popped out of the fitting attached to the fridge! We took care of the water, and thankfully there wasn't any damage to the floors since we caught this after the line came loose. I obviously shut off the water to the fridge, and re-inserted the line to the fridge and chalked up the incident to be a fluke. Fast forward less than two months and I'm away from home on a trip, and my wife is holding down the fort. So the fridge was moved again to unplug the fridge and get it connected to a generator using an extension cord due to some electrical work that was getting done. Water was shut off from the laundry room, but the water line came loose from the fridge again! I got a frantic call and messages from my wife, and I immediately called Ken, the Village Handyman, thinking that he could take care of this under warranty. I left a voicemail, but he still didn't get back to me all day until I called him again late in the afternoon once more. I told him about the issue and he said that he couldn't get to this issue until three days later. Okay... we had the water shut off, so no biggie. Three days later, he calls to say that he can't make it. How about doing it the next day (Saturday)? Sure. He calls later and says that it's not looking good for the weekend. He might have to come on Monday. Ugh. Okay, but then we call him back because this is dragging on too long. We just want this fixed. Well he agreed to come by on Saturday, and he finally arrived. I thought that Ken would just see what the issue was and correct the matter, but instead he came into my house with his shoes on (I asked him previously to take them off), huffing and puffing about getting called so much about coming out to fix this, and then dropping on us that this was a service call and was gonna incur a charge of $100. It was also gonna $75 to fix this. My wife was shocked at his demeanor, attitude, and demand that we pay him immediately for what he should have just taken care of since he didn't do the job properly from the beginning. She refused his demands, and he promptly walked out of our house without fixing a thing. I finally got back home, and see that Ken left a $100 invoice in my mailbox for not doing anything. I also see that he used the wrong fitting, which resulted in the line popping loose from the fridge. What costs a few bucks for the proper fitting ends this ridiculous saga and and any future business with this most unprofessional person. Never again do I want to see or hear from this guy. I hope that nobody has to experience what my wife and I went through because of this guy's hack job. I hate that I have to give any business one star, because I know how hard it is first hand to satisfy customers and keep things running.

Then when we finally arrive, he complained that I kept calling him to come fix our issue. He kept saying " pipes don't just leak by themselves" or something like that and that he going to charge us $100 just for coming out and $75 for service fees. We had three different contractors come out to repair the leaks. All of them left us with outrageous bills, threats of litigation, and bathtubs that still leaked. After receiving payment, none of them would honor their "warranties" and come back to fix their deficient work. When I initially found Jon on Yelp, I was skeptical. I decided to give him a chance because I had no other options. They were extremely responsive and were able to come out in a few days. They fixed both leaks and honored their warranties for minor things I noticed after they left. Their prices are very reasonable. Furthermore, they are actually licensed, which is rare for most services that you find on Yelp. Most contractors will present a license, but have unlicensed workers do the actual work to cut costs. They are also extremely trustworthy and I would have them work in my home with no one present. If you have any issues, I highly recommend you contact them. They will not disappoint. As to the negative reviews left by Ryenne and Amy, all I can say is that Things 2 Fix was one of the most responsive contractors I have come across. They will be my first call if I ever need assistance again.

He even ran a new line when we discovered the original builder installed one of my switches without any existing electrical wiring!
