Paramount (and their landscaping arm- Island Associates) did fairly extensive work at our new home this past Fall, I've listed everything below. I cannot speak highly enough about owner Doug Connell. He has proven to us time and time again that he stands behind his company's work. When you're doing a renovation job, things happen- unexpected costs (a support beam that we managed to remove by using a header beam), mistakes (in our case the wrong laying pattern for the walkway), delays (house was not move in ready in time- 3 days delayed)....it took one call to Doug (which he has always promptly returned) and things were resolved to my satisfaction, actually....to be honest, exceeding my expectations. One item I'd like to highlight is the delay in the house being ready, we managed to push our move in date back to accommodate the delay and Doug ensured that a clean up crew delivered the house spotless and shiny. With regard to the wrong laying pattern on the walkway (which is lovely, just different from what we asked), Doug offered to redo it completely but instead, we opted to extend the patio which we are very happy with! I'm a businesswoman and have high standards, Doug and his team are standup guys who get the job done with integrity. I wish them all continued success and look forward to continue working with them on our next projects. Interior- Gutted living room and reinsulated, put up new drywall and ceiling, installed highhat lights, reran heat pipes so that we could remove large walk in closet that was eating up our living room, built 2 new closets, installed crown molding in living room and 3 bedrooms, expanded my husband's mancave. Exterior- front yard plantings, planted a "living wall" fence of 30 or so Arborvitaes, fresh sod, 16x20 foot pavers for a new patio, 2 new paver walk ways and a double car driveway- pavers and asphalt. read more

Horrible people, horrible service, horrible experience! Esther is right, they are crooks! And they don't have a license to operate in Nassau County! Check for yourself on Nassau County Consumer Affairs website. This company is so unprofessional. In nine months they have never worked a full week on out $195,000 home repair from Sandy. We have been treated with disrespect and disregard. Not one project has been completed. Every project has been done incorrectly. No hot water, ac doesn't work, banister is not level, floors have been ruined, walls have been cut apart because of errors, the list is much longer. Workers are sloppy and disrespectful. They throw trash on the floor for us to clean. They destroy things and don't care. One worker urinated in a non-working toilet and left it for me to clean! Doors have floor stain on them, windows have paint and spackle on them. They have split coffee and soda on things and left it for us to clean. They exploded a bottle of soda on a wall and window and left it for us to clean. We are moving into a home that is not complete because Matt took $125,000 dragged the job for months, sending one or two men at a time to work and never completed one project. We are victims of a disaster and have been victimized once again by Matt Schneider. Every sub-contractor was also inferior. Matt has problems with most sub-contractors. Two of the sub-contractors told us they won't complete things because Matt doesn't pay them. STAY AWAY if you want a smooth job! We are going through hell with this company. read more

So unfortunately my search for contractors shall continue. As you can see below I was pretty happy with the service I received from these guys, even though they didn't do ANY work. They seemed cool and brought the right ideas to the table. However, I just bought a split in Wantagh which I would like to add a little something to, and my Dad was looking to replace two sets of front doors and add an awning at his place in New Hyde Park. I e-mailed Matt early last week and never heard back. I then called last Friday to make sure he was still employed there since I hadn't heard back and previously he had been so available. As it turns out he still works there - not sure why, he must know someone. I spoke to the really kind receptionist type person that picked up, she took down my info and request and said he would get back to me. She did say he was busy and it might take a couple hours. Which was completely fine. But here I am ten days later and nothing. Not a peep from the little fella. I figured I would use them eventually so why go after the $1k deposit, but with their completely unacceptable non-responsiveness...I'll be getting my money back and giving it to a contractor that actually cares about their customers. And to Matt, you could have made your company (and yourself if you work on commission) a lot of money here. All you had to do is return an e-mail, even if it's "I'm sorry, we're really busy and let's talk in a few days". Just pretend you give a shit and that would have been cool. But not even taking a minute to respond - you have a lot to learn. And we're talking sales here, it ain't rocket science. Just gotta do the right thing. Give these guys a call if you want, but be prepared for a change in attitude once they have your money. read more

I hired Paramount for my Kitchen Remodel and they performed exceptionally. I think it is really difficult to find someone in this industry who you can constantly go back to for your renovation needs. I really do not refer many contractors if any unless they do great work because I feel it is a reflection on me. in this case, I won't hesitate to refer Paramount, especially Matt due to the way he handled our project step by step. My wife wants him to do all of our projects. Why I am using them again for my bathroom: 1. Their price was reasonable. They honestly worked with us to fit our budget and told us how we could cut costs to make things easier. It wasn't just a price and you either take it or leave it. It really was a partnership. 2. They came on time and finished on time. They kept to their schedule, kept my house clean and sealed off the areas they were working. 3. When we had design issues, Matt filled in the blanks or offered up his own ideas. 4. Any issues that we encountered during construction were solved by putting their heads together and presenting a solution to get the original idea completed. Then I saw " not recommended reviews" I don't find it fair that my review is "not recommended" becasue i'm not an "established user" I specificly signed up to Yelp to write a good review for these guys at Paramount Remodeling becasue they deserved it! Doug and Matt at Paramount Remodeling are crooks. My husband and I recently purchased a house they remodeled and the list of things that were done wrong could wrap around the earth twice over! We should have run the minute we put in an offer on the house. Unfortunately we didnt and since that time we have been forced to spend thousands of dollars fixing their F*@k ups! This list includes: tubs that have been pitched the wrong way, windows that were not installed properly, a central AC/Heating system that we will need to replaced due to it being installed improperly and lack of returns (not to mention we moved into the house on a 90 degree day to find they had driven a nail through the power line to the AC, the heat did not work come november and has broken twice more since then) , the counter tops were installed incorrectly and were coming away from the wall within 5 months of moving in, they buried the waste trap under concrete (luckily we caught this prior to buying and forced them to dig it back up), the list truly goes on and on and EVERY DAMN DAY we are uncovering more and more issues! Doug is an arrogant and obnoxious individual who is impossible to speak with. Matt is nice enough but entirely clueless. BEWARE read more

Quite simply the best siding experts on Long Island. They installed flawless cedar siding on my cottage and it looks like it belongs in a magazine. They even came back a year later to secure one loose shingle free of charge. Professional results, excellent customer service. read more

Paramount did a full first floor renovation. The kitchen was the big project but we kept adding work. Matt and his team were amazing!!! Matt was at the job each day checking that we were happy with what the contractors did and always available for questions by text or phone when not on site. My kitchen is breathtaking!!!! I just stand in it and pinch myself - is this really my kitchen??? The work is over the top great. They found several problems and worked with us to fix them. There was a problem with our kitchen ceiling which was bowing. After they took down the sheetrock they found major structural and plumbing problems. Before we could blink an eye Matt called in the plumbers and whoever else was needed to fix what would have been a hidden nightmare down the road. Any questions or requests were dealt with immediately (which made my husband very happy). The team worked 6 days a week and the job was finished in 6 weeks - AMAZING!!!!! I will have them back for upstairs work soon. Price was good but this is the first time that someone promised me something in the construction agency and delivered more than requested! read more
