Over deliver, ahead of schedule, exceeding expectations, didn't have to become my own project…read moremanager, trust worthy crew,  over and beyond are some ways I have to describe John J Contracting and this blows my mind because every contractor who has done work to my house over the last 15 years in most cases not one of those descriptive words apply to any of them! To say that I'm blown away by John J contracting who checked off every one of those boxes is mind blowing to me Project was to convert my garage into a utilizable living space  I 1st met with Paul who listened to what I wanted done and put together a plan to help me convert my garage into a dance/music studio for my kids.   His ideas were better then the previous 3 contractors I met with, he took a day to create my estimate and from a price perspective he fell in between the high and the low bids I already had. Paul's professionalism kinda sold me, he was very focused and has a great personality. I wanted him to win the job and he fell in my budget so it made my decision very easy to choose them A day before the projects start date I met with John Joyce the owner who came to my house with Paul. We went over some last minute details and ideas and he had a lot of offer from a design and practicality perspective.   Day one of renovation went amazingly well, Joe was over seeing the demo, he was great and didn't cause any collateral damage to my house. Demo guys sometimes can. He didn't , Framing was overseen by another Joe. He was meticulous and had great foresight to the project. Engaged me with any concerns and we worked through all unforeseen obstacles my garage presented. The electrition and plumber were top notch. They were specialist to there perspective fields. My last contractor had one guy for everything but not certified in anything. Unlike any other contractor I ever had they showed up every day. Everyday there was progress being made to my renovation. Most importantly to me was that Paul and John both stopped by my job site every day and sometimes 3 times in a day. But on average probably twice a day to oversee the progress and make enhancements/adjustments as necessary as the project developed, at no extra charge in some cases, they definitely wanted to do what was best for me and not beat me over the head In the process with additional costs. The project called for 3 weeks from start to finish. They completed it ahead of schedule.  All the workers were trustworthy and personable I felt 100% comfortable to leave my young kids home alone for a short time while the guys were working.  At no point did I have have to act as my own project manager as I had to in the past with other contractors. At no point I had to chase them around just to get confirmations on simple things like "are you coming today? " like I had to in the past Paul picked up the phone I would have to say within three rings 99% of the time. Even on Sundays.  To give an idea of who I used in the past  Allure to do my upstairs in 2018.  They had missed a lot of days and a the PM Chris would never return my calls and once the job started he Just went MIA.  I give them 4 out of 10 stars and would never recommend them. Refused to use them again. I paid 30% more and for 50% less I'm my opinion  CCP contracting Who did a renovation downstairs in 2019.  Owner would not return unless I had sent a scathing text message begging for a call back, and when he called me back he made me feel like I was bothering him. Started my job in mid April needed it done by my birthday mid May and commited to that time frame, and did not end up not finishing till mid June. After the job was done things that needed to be touched up and they ghosted me pretty much.  ( John J actually fixed some of their issues for me) I can't say enough good about John J Contracting, I will only use them going forward, I recommend them to the highest degree.  Do not start a project without giving them consideration James

In the past, LICC renovated our kitchen and built us a deck so when we bought our new house, there was no question what company we were going to use. This was a major project. They gutted the house, built an extension and remodeled both the downstairs and upstairs of our home. They installed a new hvac system, all new floors, light fixtures, windows and cabinets, They took down walls, built a new banister for the staircase, refaced my fireplace and built a new front door.. John helped us design the home of our dreams. He is the most amazing contractor. He handled everything. He dealt with the town for our permits, took care of electric, plumbing, hvac, installation etc. John doesn't cut corners. He was hands on from the beginning until our house was complete. He showed up and made sure everything was completed in the time frame he said it would be completed. We trust him completely. The craftsmanship and attention to detail was on point. John's crew was respectful, skilled and attentive. They answered any questions as they came up.. Throughout, John was communicative and transparent, and his contractors were of the highest quality. And importantly for us, John understood our open concept vision from day one -- it was like he could read our minds. Among other things: * John helped us discover what was possible to do with the house. After tearing down the walls, he worked with an architect to figure out whether it was possible to vault the ceilings and how. * John pushed back on our ideas when they would have been too expensive for our budget, or overall not worth the money. He worked with us to find different, but equally gorgeous, ways to solve the same problem. * John ran a tight ship, and made clear when we had to pick out doors, materials, etc. This helped the project run on schedule (though of course there were inevitable delays with supplies due to Covid). * When some items were damaged in transit, John worked with suppliers to get replacements ASAP. * When we needed additional work done (e.g. to plan the backyard), John recommended other contractors, all of which have been professional and of high quality. * There was never any doubt how much anything would cost or when we'd be charged. Based on Yelp reviews we then called Devin from Flawless Masonry & Landscape who told us a circular driveway was absolutely doable! We were so impressed with Devin's design skills (including clear scaled digitized plans) and experience that we hired him on the spot. Plus Flawless's pricing was lower than other quotes we got. Icing on the cake. Then the pandemic hit so the job was delayed (NY orders), but Flawless came through after re-opening and did a superb job for us. The new driveway is both beautiful and functional, even our crabby neighbors like it! It was a big job but Flawless's skilled and friendly crew managed to finish in a week. He did my roof in Kings Park and we are damn glad he did, it came out amazing and was done the right way. Tony was the only roofer who explained how he needed to remove some siding and install ice shield up the outside walls and it would take some more time to get it done. Not one other roofer even mentioned they would do this, When I asked Tony he said that's because it's the right way and we take our time to do it right. On the last day when they were almost done (2 day job)Tony did not like the look of some flashing against my brick, it was water tight but according to Tony it was not aesthetically up to his standards. Most roofers would said screw it good enough and leave but he came back the next day and completely re-did it to make it not only look 100% but function 100%. If you need a roof, siding, gutters or windows I highly recommend going with DiCostanzo his price was more Than fair for the quality of the work and attention to detail he brings to the job. We now have a gorgeous back deck with access to our backyard from the second story or our home. The sliding glass door brings light into a perviously dark room. They also resurfaced our living room ceiling and walls, took out an old air conditioner, patched our wall and expertly painted.
