Do NOT use this business!!! I wish zero stars were available…read more A replacement glass panel for our French door was ordered on August 24th and we were told it would take 2 weeks to get. The door finally arrived on September 25th, almost 5 weeks later, with an install date of September 29th. My husband took a half-day from work and Tom Chieffo, the owner, cancelled on him one hour before he was supposed to show up. My husband took another half -day to accommodate the next date and time that Tom could do, Thursday October 5th, at 3:30 pm. Tom called us the morning of and asked if he could yet again move the time to earlier because it was too late for him. We said the earliest we could be home was 3 pm and Tom agreed that was better. The time came and went and Tom never showed nor called. My husband finally heard from him almost 2 hours after and Tom said that he was at the doctor's office and he would try to make it afterwards. He never did. He asked my husband if he could come the next day at 8 am, which we couldn't do. My husband offered 10:30 am, which we were originally told no, but then was finally agreed upon after my husband stated that it was getting a little ridiculous trying to accommodate him when we were the ones waiting for so long. On Friday October 6th at 10:30 am, Tom showed up to replace the glass on the French door. He began to remove the broken glass from the door using a wooden mallet and a chisel, hammering away at the door and the entire frame forcefully. This force sent glass flying all throughout our kitchen and caused the molding around the glass to be chipped in numerous places. (see pictures) He then put in the new glass and caulked it, leaving caulk smeared all over the door and the glass. He said that we could 'clean it with Windex.' He then put the molding back on the inside of the glass and got a compressor stapling gun to put the molding back on and proceeded to put 20 staples into the molding. When questioned about stapling the molding as the other door is not stapled, he said, "This is how it's done. It's different than when it's factory installed." When it was time to leave, the door wouldn't open and close easily and was sticking. It only closed or opened while being physically lifted. It was apparent that the forceful hammering knocked the door off the hinge, or worse, broke it all together. When we confronted him he denied it was him that caused it and said that the door was stuck like that before. Which it wasn't. The job looks as though a young child did it. It is extremely sloppy, careless, and certainly doesn't look like it was done by anyone with experience. Of course being very unhappy with the job, we called him to complain the same day. He first spoke with my husband and denied that he did anything wrong, and said that the other door has staples too and that his job looks the same as the other door.(There are no staples in the other door- again, see pictures). He also denied that he caused the door to be off the hinge. He took absolutely no responsibility for the terrible job. Quite the contrary- he got angry and defensive and ended up hanging up on my husband. I also called him to explain what I was seeing and see if he would come back to fix it. He didn't want to be bothered with my phone call, got defensive again when I questioned the work that he did, talked over me, cut me off continuously, and proceeded to tell me that his contract was with the previous owners and that it was their problem, not mine, and to take it up with them. When I said that I was appalled at how he ran his business, he hung up on me too. These are actions of a manipulative, selfish, unprofessional person. His actions as a business owner are despicable. This man should never get business with anyone in the area. He doesn't take responsibility if he makes a mistake and he doesn't care to keep customers happy. There is no "the customer is always right" mentality here. You can see the same with other reviews on the Internet. He is a disgrace of a business owner and all consumers should steer clear if you want a job done right and by someone who takes pride in their work.

We own a motel apartment in Amagansett. It is a duplex. The doors to both the upstairs and…read moredownstairs had slatted glass louvres. The entire motel has them and they are frosted for privacy. I ordered the same from Queens screen last November and sent a deposit . We were told by Tom at the company that he completed the job and we sent the balance. I got out there for the first time last weekend and saw that he had installed clear glass and he never replaced the moldings around the work. It is awful. There is tape holding the doors in place. I called him and he said that he had ordered clear glass by mistake and that he would come and replace the clear with the frosted which he now has and that he would be there in a few days. Now 10 days have gone by and he will not answer his phone, nor will the office answer. We rent out the units and the management will not allow any tenants to use our units because of the lack of privacy. I have texted him, emailed him and called him. He will not answer. To me, this is fraud.
