TERRIBLE SERVICE, if you could even call it service. As a business owner communication with clients is a necessity. Jeff has failed to respond to any calls, emails, and is never present in person when attempts are made to contact him at his office. He has not provided any cost estimate, nor any estimated time of completion. He has held my cousin's truck hostage for two months and is completely unreachable. This is incredibly unprofessional, inappropriate, and jeopardizes people's livelihoods who require transportation for their jobs. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. You won't see your car for months. While we were there in person just now, met another individual who was waiting outside hoping to catch Jeff since they have been waiting to get their car since JANUARY of 2025!! read more

I Took my car to Paramount Motor Works 5 months ago to get some work done. I need help. Jeff will not return my phone calls. It has been over 5 months. I have gone by the shop every day for a week. No one is ever at the shop. I did call Sheriff. They say its a civil matter. I have no idea if the work is complete or what. read more

We've been taking our vehicles to Jeff for 10 years. He's a great mechanic and definitely looks out for you and above all honest. We don't take our vehicles anywhere else to get worked on. You can trust Jeff! read more

We have been a long time customer of Jeff at Paramount Motorworks. They are simply the best mechanic shop in the area. However I'm saddened to leave this review. We brought our Subaru Forester in the shop in December (yes December 2021) and we have not heard from anyone at the shop since late January. An estimate was never given, and as far as we know, repairs haven't been made. The shop appears closed now, with our car in it. We have sent many emails and called many times over the past 2 months, and visited the shop multiple times during working hours, but it has been closed every time. All we can think is that something terrible must have happened, and for that we are sorry. We've made every effort and have been patient. But we still need our car. We don't know where to turn for help. The El Dorado County Sheriff says this is a civil matter. The Bureau of Automotive repair says that since nothing has been repaired (that we know of) then we don't really have a complaint. Our only option is to hire an attorney, and sue the business for breach of contract and for the return of our car, and as you can imagine, this is expensive. If anyone reads this and can help us get our car back, please let us know. We can actually see our car parked in the back of the shop, behind the locked gates. read more

Jeff is does excellent work but more important he is honest to his core. If you worry about being taken advantage of by dishonest mechanics you will soon realize that Jeff built is business on both his ability and his honest and fair work. I cannot recommend Paramount highly enough. read more

I can't believe I've never reviewed this place before! This is he only place I take my vehicles. I'm not completely in the dark with car repair places but I like to act dumb when I bring my car in so I can judge the honesty of the mechanic. Jeff has never led me astray or recommended service that was unnecessary. His work is quick and excellent and I generally come out paying less than I do other places. It can be a bit tough to reach him by phone since he's normally in back under the hood of a car, but you can always leave a message and he will call back. I've found it easier just to drive down and speak to him in person. I first visited Paramount due to positive yelp reviews and I'm happy I did. read more

Jeff Peters is responsive, reasonable, and honest. I had a pretty major repair (exhaust manifolds, oil pan leak, air conditioning charge) and he diagnosed everything correctly and was transparent for labor and parts. He showed me my failed manifolds as well. He is someone that you can trust if you don't know too much about cars. read more

Paramount Motorworks is amazing. I have used Jeff and his team for my business and personal vehicles for years. His work has always been reliable, reasonable, and honest. He is great at figuring out unusual situations and getting the job done in a pinch. I give Jeff and Paramount my highest possible recommendation. read more

I found Paramount on Yelp, and it only had a few reviews but they were all good, so I decided to give it a try. It is too bad Yelp does not offer more stars because Jeff would clearly deserve and receive the best rating possible above what is great for everyone else. It is virtually impossible to find honest mechanics in the auto industry. I have been continually overcharged and over serviced by dealerships and mechanics that are looking to take you for a ride. Clearly Jeff's purpose is to provide good, fair priced service and have you for a customer for life. Which he will with our family and friends. My truck was running rough, and I called to see if he could take it that day. He promptly called back and left a message that he was booked on that day, but could look at it the next day. I took the truck to his shop. It does not look like a typical auto shop from the outside, but Google will get you there. His waiting area is SUPER CLEAN and quiet. He promptly greeted me when I arrived, even though he was in the back working, and listened to the symptoms I described. He seemed to know immediately what the problem was and said he would check it out. He took my keys and did not ask me to fill anything out. I really liked that. He had my phone number from my originating phone call, so he knew how to reach me. The next day there was a message on my phone, that the problem was as expected and that he already fixed it and gave me, what I thought was a very fair price for the repair. I went today to pick up the truck, and he again promptly came out and greeted me. We had a nice conversation about cars, service, the area, etc. I was not in an hurry and he did not rush me at all. He took his time to explain the issue and that it could happen again with other parts on my truck, but that we did not need to replace those other parts until they started to break. Other places I am sure would have taken the opportunity to replace all 8 parts on my truck instead of one. He brought my truck around, and too my shock, he had washed the truck. It looked better than any washing I had ever done, and he treated the tires as well. IT LOOKED GREAT!!! Now that is what I call service. I can't recommend him enough. He is honest and a gentleman. I will be a long time customer. Thank you Jeff for being an honest mechanic. read more

When our family has vehicles in need of service, we do not think twice on where to go. Paramount Motorworks is THE place to go for an honest and efficient automotive repair experience. The Owner and Operator, Jeff, does everything we need to get back on the road and then some. The best part of taking your vehicle to this shop is the process and personal touch. Jeff embodies the term mechanic and clearly prides himself on diagnosing the problem before replacing parts. This old school mentality is refreshing in a world where many younger technicians seem to be trained to guess and replace parts without much serious diagnostic work. Jeff orders quality parts from reputable vendors. The invoice is always fair. His shop is clean and inviting for those who want piece and quiet to families with small children (my 9 month old son had a blast practicing his walking skills there last week). I have referred dozens of friends, family, colleagues, and students on a budget to Paramount and have never heard a bad word about their experience. If you're researching for a shop to take your vehicle in to, feel free to stop the search. You will not find a better overall experience! Thanks again, Jeff! read more

I never write reviews for anything because I am simply too busy but I had to take the time this morning. I was referred to Paramount Motorworks by a friend and I could tell from the first conversation with him how genuine he is. He set expectations from the get go and only exceeded them when it came to the analysis, the cost of repair, and the time frame. I, too, am tired of getting ripped off by most of the places out and with my particular car issue he could have EASILY diagnosed it as something major (which I thought it was) but instead he told the truth and saved us a lot of money! I will be a referring customer from here on out. read more

I was out of town helping my best friend move last summer (2018) when my car developed a big black plume of smoke coming out of the exhaust when I had my oil changed. My best friend only takes her vehicles to Jeff and I was so fortunate to have him get my car back in working order, and for a lot less than I had been afraid it would end up costing. He is honest and told me what needed to be done immediately and what I needed to address later. I had just got back from a trip to Washington State and when I came to pick the car up it was clean, every bug from the road trip had been removed. Wow. I am only disappointed that I don't live in Cameron Park and can't take my car to Paramount Motorworks all the time. This is a very belated thank you review to Jeff and the team at Paramount Motorworks. read more

As an independent woman it's hard to not be taken advantage of in the automotive world, but I assure you that Jeff at Paramount sets the bar so high you will ever want to go anywhere else. Not only is he ethical and honest but delivers Red Carpet Treatment (I have NEVER seen a shop so clean and a waiting area as comfortable as Paramount's) along with skilled mechanical knowledge, and unsurmountable sincere and honest customer service. I am very happy since a friend of mine referred me to Paramount and would never think of going anywhere else. Thank you, Jeff! read more

Jeff and his team are just great! In a world where it's fearful to go to a new mechanic when you have moved recently, Jeff put my fears to rest. He was honest and his prices were very fair. Plus I never have to call him for an update on my car because he'll let me know when it's done. read more

The team at Paramount is absolutely outstanding! It is extremely difficult to find a mechanic/shop that is honest and knowledgeable, but does not overcharge you either. Paramount (Jeff) and his team are honest, knowledgeable, fantastic customer service, and they don't gouge people. I can't say enough about how great this business is. This is the only shop I will ever refer anyone to if they need service done on their vehicle. Thank you Paramount! :) read more

Wow, very impressive, professional and reasonably priced! Took the Mercedes in for the A3 service - upon arrive I immediately noticed the clean front office, and the front office didn't smell like motor oil like some many other independent repair facilities. The repair bill was considerably less than what I have paid in the past at the dealer and Jeff the owner gave me plenty of information on future service, items I need to consider to work on before the season changes, etc. When I went to get in my car I immediately noticed my already clean vehicle had been given another wash, vacuum and clean windows!! Mercedes dealer never did this. I will use this repair shop again and refer my family and friends to him. I feel confident I have found a solid, reliable, honest mechanic - Thanks Jeff! read more

Took my '02 Silverado in. Leaking oil like crazy, 150K miles, I thought for sure I needed to R/R the head gaskets. I called Firestone in El Dorado Hills, and they quoted me upwards of 2,000 dollars (I had taken it in for an alignment and they told me I needed a new tensioner and idler pulley for a belt squeak that wouldn't go away, and that the oil leak was likely the head gasket) I did the pulley and tensioner myself (60 bucks) and low and behold, the squeak remained! I took the truck to Jeff on a recommendation, who did a diagnostic for NO CHARGE when I made an appointment for the next day. He found that my leaks were not the head gaskets, they were coming from the valley pan and the oil pan. The squeaking belt? My water pump was leaking coolant on to my belt. So much for the tensioner being bad (Firestone hires newbs). In addition to the gaskets for the pans and the water pump replacement, he flushed my differential fluid, resealed that, changed out a knock sensor, and replaced about 4 light bulbs. How much? 1,300 bucks! This was under half what it would have cost me for the same repairs at Firestone, and about 60% less than at the dealership! My truck was returned clean inside and out. I would recommend Jeff to anybody I know for engine repair. read more

Jeff is a great honest mechanic. Being a female I always feel taken advantage of even when I get my oil changed not to mention when my car is broken. He was referred to me by a family member & I am really glad I took his advice. I am glad I can say I have a mechanic! Thank you Jeff! read more

I recently had service/repairs performed on my 96 Thunderbird. The vehicle had been sitting for about 3 years. The service/repairs were fairly extensive, yet far below dealer pricing, and still performed by a factory trained certified master technician. The results were phenomonal. The bird was returned to me, not only running like a new car, but also looking like a new car. Jeff's philosophy of treating every vehicle as his own is beyond description. It is truly a must see it to believe it situation. Thank You , Jeff , for returning to me a 15 year old new vehicle. Please use myself and my vehicle as a reference for your business anytime. My vehicle is always available to see by anyone who wants to see firsthand what I have tried to put into words. Thank You again !! read more

WHAT?! Another 5 star review?! Yep, these guys deserve it. Jason and Jeff took my car in when no one else would. I usually do my own work, and would never take my car to an auto repair shop. But this time, I had issues that I could not tackle myself, due to the lack of proper tools. The car had a lean code and large leak in the rear end. I searched for days, for someone who would diagnose and fix the problems I had with my newly purchased supercharged Mustang. I called numerous shops within the Sacramento area, but no one wanted to touch my car, because of all the aftermarket parts on it. Finally, a reputable dyno tune shop in Cameron Park recommended me to Paramount. When I called Jeff, he listened to my list of issues and promptly welcomed my car to his shop. Jeff had my car for some time, but called me frequently to keep me current on the status of his work. His diagnosis and repairs being done on the Mustang were spot on. I was confident he was doing work that needed to be done. When I came to pick up my car, it was sitting out front, with a sparkling shine. They washed the car! I got to talk to Jeff, in person, about the repairs done and he showed me the old defective parts. He charged me VERY reasonably and I could not be happier. My car drives great now and feels so alive. I would also like to mention something that I noticed later, in my garage: I said earlier, that the rear end had a major leak. When it leaked, gear oil splashed all over the underside of my car. It was disgusting. I went under my car, this weekend, to look at the work Jeff and his team did on my car and my jaw dropped!!! The whole undercarriage was CLEAN! They washed all of that stinking, nasty gear oil off. My mind is blown. I have never come across a shop so dedicated to their customer. Their professionalism is astounding and their workmanship is top quality. I found a shop for life. read more

These guys are absolutely great. I needed to get the fuel pump and filter replaced on my Saturn, and they did it quickly and fairly. I had originally taken my car to a different location in Folsom, but after an astronomical quote and on a recommendation from a friend, had my car towed to Paramount. They were so courteous, honest and just overall wonderful to work with. I commented on how quick the turn around was, and Jeff said he wasn't sure if I had other transportation options, so didn't want to leave me stranded. I thoroughly appreciated the thought and courtesy! I would recommend Jeff and Paramount to anyone and everyone. read more

Finding a good honest mechanic is like finding the right doctor for your family. We recently moved to the area and were in search of a good mechanic. We found Jeff at Paramount Motors, and it has been a blessing. Jeff is fair, complete, and always does the job in a timely fashion and correct the first time. Car repairs are never fun, but our experience with Paramount and Jeff was really pleasant. Our car needed some regular and unscheduled maintenance. I was recommended to come to this place from a co-worker recently. He had both his cars worked on here and much like everyone else on here he had glowing reviews. I have been looking for a place to take my car to for a while and this place happens to be a 3 minute walk from where I work. So between the distance and my co workers recommendations I thought I finally found my new mechanic. Well I was wrong. I have called this place over 8 times and left at lest 4 voicemails over the past week (since Monday and it is Thursday). Finally I decided to go in since it's right across the street. So I walk in and there is no one there to greet me but the door to the garage is open so I knock and finally someone comes over only to tell me the owner can only give quotes and he wasn't in. So the guy writes down my info and says the owner will call me later that day or the next. Well I never heard from the owner so finally I called again. Of course no answer. So I decided to go in again. This time the door to the garage is closed. I yelled hello multiple times, I knocked on the door, and I rang the bell they have on the outside of their building TWICE. And no one ever came out. It's safe to say they just lost a potential regular customer due to their horrible customer service. The least you can do is answer your phones, if not, at least call people back or why even have a voicemail machine? read more

Wow, this was a GREAT experience! It started with my company's Sprinter van needing a smog. We knew that it might have a problem - so a friend recommended Jeff Peters, owner of Paramount Motorworks to us. We had taken the van previously to the dealer, and while their customer service was nice - we wouldn't go back because they treated us like a number and did not run the diagnostics that Jeff took the time to do. Jeff figured out that our glow plugs weren't working and recommended that we change those before we spend money fixing what the dealer had thought was wrong. "We know the plugs are a problem, so let's start there!" he wisely advised. Well, what do you know? That was the source of the black smoke and no power! Jeff took care of a couple of other items, took it to a shop and got it smogged, put more gas in it, and he washed it for us too! Jeff impressed me. He was professional, knowledgeable and when he had a question about our van and didn't know the answer - he admitted he didn't know but then FOUND the answer! We were able to drop off the van on Saturday and could have picked it up on Wednesday. The price was reasonable, but more important, we feel like we have found an intelligent, conscientious, craftsman that had our best interests at heart. I don't think we could have found better service or peace of mind anywhere else. We will recommend Paramount Motorworks to all of our friends and if you are wondering about finding that guy you can trust to work on your car - look no further as Jeff Peters is your man! read more

Jeff did an amazing job on my 10 year old MDX. He fixed what I came in for and also highlighted some other items that needed my attention. Saved me hundreds of dollars in future repairs as it was a leaking pump deep inside the motor. Thank you guys. Most excellent. Will return for sure. read more

Took my son's Honda Civic in for a new head gasket which was causing an overheating issue. Jeff was very professional, friendly, and he had the lowest estimate of 4 shops that I called. He verified the issue the first day, had the cylinder head machined the next day, and got everything back together the 3rd day. One of the other shops quoted me up to 2 weeks depending on the machine shop backlog. Couldn't be happier with Paramount. Tough to find a mechanic that's fast, professional, and reasonably priced. I'll definitely be using Jeff going forward. read more
