Santo Tomás Winery in Ensenada is one of those places that completely surprises you in the best…read moreway. Tucked away in what looks like an old bank, this little winery instantly pulls you in with its vintage charm. The moment I walked in, I couldn't help but notice the high ceilings, the old safe door still standing proudly in the back, and the way every corner was filled with some part of the wine story--barrels stacked neatly, bottles arranged on tall shelves, and rustic touches that make the place feel authentic and full of history. It's not a huge space, but that's part of what makes it special. There's something intimate about it--like you've discovered one of Ensenada's best-kept secrets. The decor has this old-school feel that pairs perfectly with the warm, inviting vibe of the place. You can tell that the people who run Santo Tomás love what they do. The staff couldn't have been friendlier--they greeted me with genuine smiles, offered insight into their wines, and made the whole experience feel personal rather than commercial. Even before tasting anything, I could tell the wine was going to be good. The atmosphere just set the mood perfectly. And sure enough, each glass had that balance of depth and flavor that makes you want to linger over it and enjoy every sip. Santo Tomás isn't flashy or modern--it's timeless. If you appreciate good wine, friendly people, and a sense of history in the places you visit, this spot is worth every minute. So if you ever find yourself in Ensenada, do yourself a favor and step inside. You'll leave already planning your next visit. Enjoy!

It's a really nice building with a big courtyard out front and clean bathrooms. The woman who ran our wine tasting was funny and inviting and really made the experience. The white wine was my favorite which surprised me as I'm usually more of a rose person. It was light and fruity and refreshing. I also enjoyed the olive oil tasting. Highly recommend stopping in!

Easily the highlight of the trip for our entire group. I'll definitely be returning here every time I visit Valle de Guadalupe.

I was thrilled to see an email on Saturday saying we were welcome for the 2nd tasting of the day and then filled with panic as I saw when it was sent, didn't have service and that time was quickly approaching. Thankfully i got wifi, replied that we would love to be there, got a reply saying we were good to go and off we went. I will thank our luck a large amount on the weather as many people cancelled due to pouring rain and flooded roads. The roads are rough, especially in the rain so a larger vehicle or a tour driver would definitely be beneficial but we made it happen. Upon arrival we were greeted with hugs, conversation, drinks and blankets and it honestly felt like we just showed up to the home of a family member. With the weather, it ended up just being the two of us and another couple who drove out for the day and previously was married at the vineyard which made for the most intimate afternoon tasting. My fiancé (oh that's still weird to say haha) is not really a wine drinker and I don't usually drinks reds but we both loved all 3 years of the tasting and the tapas that come with each were so delicious. One of the pairings was a taco with meat that I don't eat so I gave it to him and was more than thankful when Hilda noticed and asked her team to make a potato taco for me to take part. With the impeccable vibes, Carlos decided this was the right time and place and completely unbeknownst to me he had let James and Hilda know about his plan and they assisted in the greatest intimate proposal I could have ever dreamed of, rain and chilly temperatures and all. After our tasting we all spoke around the table like we had known each other for years and it really was the most special day and experience I could have ever asked for. We will definitely be back sooner than later, especially since we both fell in love with not only the humans on site but vineyard good boy Corcho. Thank you both for your hospitality, I honestly can't express it enough.
