Been going here for years now. This place is fabulous, changes menu a good amount to give you variety but always keeps fan faves. Always consistent in regards to food and staff. Katie is by far my favorite bartender. Always attentive, friendly and happy to accommodate every request you have. read more

Come here all the time! Definitely a hidden gem. This place isn't the easiest to find, but the food is great and so is the beer! Katie is definitely the best bartender there! read more

Salt lick. Two stars for the excellent service, but one of the worst meals I've ever had. Making a reservation was easy for a Saturday night, but perhaps that was because it was Easter weekend? Seated promptly, our server took our drink orders (but notably brought cider when a beer recommendation was asked for instead). Three apps and two entrees. The five onion soup was salty at first and got worse the more fiance ate it. I agreed after having a few bites--we should have sent it back. The crab and corn dip was very homogeneous and needed to be stirred or something--looked like it was microwaved or under a heat lamp. The deconstructed Cesar salad was stupid--half a head of romaine lettuce with dressing and cheese drizzled on top with a half-stale focaccia bread stick on the side. A stupid trend executed just so they could have it on the menu, I guess. The "Avocado" sandwich was just that. A whole avocado split in half with only a fair amount of tuna inside. The avocado wasn't quite ripe, and it was just strange. My beef bulgogi tacos tasted fine at first--but then the salt crept up on me. Waiter and manager checked on us periodically, but by this time we weren't sure there was anything on the menu that wasn't a train wreck. Were going to spend some time in Target nearby after dinner, but actually left because we felt so off. Went home to drink plenty of water. Yelp failed me! So disappointing. People reminded me that maybe they had an off night, but is no one tasting the food? read more

The other night, our neighbors were telling us about their dining experience at Paragon. They said everything was excellent ~ the food, service and atmosphere, so we plan to go there in December for a special occasion. Since they're not Yelpers, when I saw this local restaurant appear below my posting a review for another business (unrelated to food), I decided to post this. After we go, I'll add my comments! read more

Went to a PlantNite event here. Staff was very accomodating, drinks and dessert were also delicious! My friends and me will be attending another PlantNite in a few week and we intend to try dinner here beforehand. read more

My husband and I were looking for a new restaurant and found this on open table. Good ambiance for a group or a chill night for two people, loud but comfortable. We ordered the French onion soup to share, duck quesadillas(super spicy) and the crispy chicken sandwich. All were delicious with a wide range of beer choices. Great staff, the manager even came by the table to make sure all was well. Def will be returning. read more

The burgers are usually undercooked, the service isn't all that great great, but the salads are awesome. Good beer selection, but it would be nice if the bar area was bigger and had more seats. read more

I have only been here once, excelent food and service! The chef / owner even came out to talk to us..just to say hello. He will customize your meal for any dietary restrictions as well! read more

I would highly recommend Paragaon Tap. Our experience here was great. From the moment we were greeted by their excellent hostess right thru our delicious dessert, and everything in between, the service, food and atmosphere were top-notch. Two big thumbs up and 5 glowing stars. Look forward to going back again soon. read more

Maybe it was a bad day for the kitchen? Appetizer was the buffalo chicken dip which was clearly prepared in advance and microwaved when ordered. For the entree, I had the jerk chicken bowl, my husband had the short rib. The jerk chicken bowl was less than to be desired. The chicken thigh was brined, but the jerk marinade was flavorless. No spice, no heat. Yuck. Someone needs to visit a Caribbean restaurant for tips. Accompanied with a pineapple chutney which looked like someone took a can of diced pineapples and made a reduction, the entire meal was uninspiring, and not even worthy of a meal prep entree. My husband's short rib entree was fatty and placed over gray mashed potatoes undercooked rubbery vegetables. The skin on the zucchini gave evidence to the fact that the vegetables were either left out to sit after cutting, or that they were on their last leg and needed to be used. I ordered a side of the "boardwalk fries", which were reminiscent of French fries from checkers. You can tell they were previously frozen, and were so greasy they were barely palatable. What did New Jersey ever do to you? Why would you even try to pass these off as boardwalk fries, which traditionally are made to order from fresh potatoes? The service was excellent, but this was not a "craft experience" as advertised. We visited this place a year ago and had a great time. Even met the chef himself. My, how things have changed. Sad to say that we won't be returning. read more

This was my first time here, and with all the good reviews, and I was more than curious to check it out. We went on a Wednesday night, so there wasn't anyone there. There was three tables other than ours in the dining area, and then there were a few people at the bar side. There was some live music on when we first got there. We were immediately seated. To start off, I had their blueberry lemonade cocktail. It was actually very good, but I think it would be better if they replaced the blueberry with raspberries. My date had a beer, which he enjoyed very much. They had a wide selection of beer, so if you're into that, I definitely recommend it. We weren't super hungry, so I had the marinara flatbread, which was okay. I think it was a little thick to be considered a flatbread, but the taste was good. My date had the duck quesadillas, and he said it was so delicious. But be careful! They're super spicy. We had a pretty good time there, and would definitely come back. read more

Nice place! Had the poke tuna avocado sandwich and truffle fries. Both delicious. The strawberry basil drink was also very good

This place was awesome! I had the chicken burger which was delicious! the bread was really hard though, honestly cut the roof of my mouth, but the chicken was well seasoned and it tasted great! the highlight of my meal was the pumpkin cider that we had, it was refreshing and it reminded me of fall as soon as i smelled it. Our waitress was really bubbly and i appreciated her insight! read more

One star for the vegan options we ordered. We tried the vegan meatballs, spinach, and corn dinner... very very dry and just tasted like falafel, 5 spinach leaves (wish I was kidding), and small amount of corn which was good but not enough to spread around and moisten the dry sauceless meatballs. Also tried the riced cauliflower dish which had fair flavor and very small portion. Very disappointed! We have tried other non-vegan meals here which were better. Just so hit or miss depending on what you order. We used to love this place when it first opened and then became disappointed the more menu items we tried. We stopped eating here and then noticed the menu changes so tried again but still left disappointed. read more

Seems like a good mix between your local watering hole and a casual date spot. Different events throughout the week and we happened to be there Trivia Tuesday.. Menu items are pretty varied (everything from paella to burgers to poke), and I opted for the jerk chicken rice bowl while my buddy got the avocado poke sandwich (poke literally sandwiched between avocado). To be honest I was not a fan of my dish but would definitely like to try some of the other options. A lot of drink options, and not just beers..found a pretty decent list of scotches. Overall cool spot that caters to a variety of people and occasions. read more

2nd time at Paragon. I saw the article on NJ.com about "best wings in NJ".. but I came here for the buffalo bacon dip.. It's on happy hour menu so only 6 dollars and well worth it! Just as good as first time. I got the "voo doo sauce" on my wings.. Very good but LIGHT COATING ( in my opinion not tossed enough ). I'm sitting at the bar for the 2nd time. The guys they have behind the bar are very inviting, respectful, personal, overall a pretty solid bar staff ( and I work in this business so I'm a good judge ) - Happy hour All Day on Thursdays is awesome. Man I have been here SO MANY TIMES and I just realized I have never written a review! Paragon is a great place to hang out with my friends and more often than not we're just at one of the high tables in the bar. They have a pretty extensive craft bar menu so if you want a Miller or PBR, head to Chili's or Applebees around the corner. I come here because I can get my Rodenbach Cru sour ale. I also come here when I'm craving wings because they do have the best wings, HANDS DOWN in the area. The Voodoo sauce is where it's at and I love it so much that it's the only flavor I get (you can order two). One time I did add the beer glaze but it wasn't my thing. They also have a seared ahi tuna flat bread which is also pretty damn good. AND GET THE PARMESAN TRUFFLE FRIES...YOU WILL THANK ME FOR IT. I haven't eaten entrees here because their apps menu is so good and really filling so I'm completely happy with stopping there. The one thing that I can say is their downfall is their specialty cocktails. Recently stopped by and and a seasonal pumpkin martini which tasted like Everclear. A friend of mine also tried some seasonal fall martini and...Everclear. So stick to beer or basics if you want to have a drink. read more

I've been here a couple times and will definitely go back. The beer menu is so big & thorough, they explain all the flavors and even let you do tastings before you commit. The staff is super attentive and helpful. As a vegetarian, I was so happy that they make their own veggie patties, usually restaurants just take them out of a box. All the food seemed very fresh. And the truffle fries are heavenly...I'm addicted! read more

Had dinner this past Saturday. Walked in and was overwhelm by the noise level that rivals JFK runway during busy seasons. Requested seating at an outdoor table. The server complaint to the hostess that she is already had too many tables. I noticed that perhaps there were 5 tables occupied and they had food runners to help out. She just took our order and never checked back. Hmm... either training is necessary or they hired someone with a bad attitude. Onto the food. It was a mixed bag. My Beer Soaked Burger was flavorful and cooked to temperature, and the accompanied fries were good too. My wife had the Herb Crusted Halibut. The fish was cooked correctly, but the sauce is very salty. Overall, it was just an okay experience. read more

Decent bar. They had last call at 11p, which was a huge buzz kill. The beer selection is good for NJ, but if you're not already in the area, I wouldn't come out just for this. Decent food menu, above average beer menu for the area, hit or miss on service. Overall don't get too excited. read more

Last night i was at paragon on a saturday night which it was unsurprisingly busy so we were fine with the wait as we did not make a reservation. Me and my friend were sitting next a family that looked like they were getting screamed at or ridiculed by one of your female managers. This is completely inappropriate as much as it also was obvious. Although the food and the service was great, the way the manager was towards the guests was uncalled for therefore I will not be returning here anytime soon. I desire to support businesses who actually respect their guests. read more

The food was alright. The service needs to be better. Took forever for food to come out. And one of the entrees ordered was wrong even after the long wait and so the wait continued for a re fire. The waiter was also forgetful. read more

Will most certainly be returning for another delicious dinner soon! The menu has something for every taste - seafood, salads, burgers, pastas, and even sections for mac and cheese and gourmet grilled cheese. Ultimately decided on the seafood manicotti and it was a great choice. The pasta was a spinach mixture and it had the perfect amount of filling. Definitely will go back hungrier so I can sample some more. read more

Just had my baby's 1st birthday party there and it was perfect!! Tommy is the best server ever!! He made sure that we were happy at all times and kept the food/drinks coming! I loveeed the food!! The ghost pepper holly God brace yourself because if I can't handle it no one can. No joke. No really, if you can please contact me!! Anyway the sangria is okayyyy brownstone has a better version on Sunday's! The service was ok I think our server was Alex when we first walked in I am pretty sure he threw the menus at us on the table. He definitely seemed unhappy while we were there...why does he even work there???def a buzz kill for me because I had to hear it from the husband!! But honestly it's a cool place they just have to get more happy people working there and they would do stacks on stacks on stacks!!! read more

Great beer selection. Service was very friendly and accommodating. We started with the calamari which was good, though not exceptional. For my main course I ordered the Ramen Noodle Bowl. It's not something I would get again. It's just after having excellent ramen at Ani Ramen House in Montclair, this was just a pale impression. My friends seemed to enjoy their food though, so maybe I just needed to order more wisely next time. It is a fun place - I'd definitely return. read more

This is a nice local bar. Came here for some drinks after dinner. It was pretty busy on a Friday night. They have a good selection of beers on tap. The bartender was nice and helped me select a good beer. Didn't try the food but the photos on Yelp look so yummy, definitely will be back to try. read more

We called for delivery not knowing this was to be the saddest order we ever received from a restaurant. The wedge salad had two cherry tomatoes cut in half in a container with probably a tablespoon of blue cheese, a small, split head of lettuce that was a little brown inside and missing the bacon and onions. My chilled green bean salad, though dreadful, wasn't as pathetic as the wedge. The green beans weren't chilled. The green beans were raw covered with a sliced portobello, roasted beets which were ok - a little under cooked, a smattering of sunflower seeds and about eight pieces of baby arugula. Someone didn't follow the menu descriptions for this was not what was expected. Paragon may be great for beers but NOT for takeout. I would expect to pay around $25 for two regular sized salads from a restaurant, no big deal. But this time I was bamboozled, paying that much for two minuscule, not what I ordered off the menu plastic containers of sadness. Big miss, Paragon. read more

My first trip to Paragon was forgetable......first, I have been to many restaurants over the years, 5 stars to no stars....as a first course I ordered the onion soup,....well, NEVER have I had a worse onion soup than here....here is my EXACT description.....a 6 oz cup stuffed with bread, and little, if ANY broth or onions because the bread absorbed the soup,......I cancelled the rest of my order, paid for the soup and drink, left and never to come back............. read more

We had lunch here in the bar area, which comfortable and had a nice variety of beer on tap. The short rib sandwich was awesome. The meat was tender and the fries and onions were perfect. My husband really enjoyed his chicken prosciutto sandwich. We would definitely return! read more

4 1/2 stars. First time coming here and I have to say, my family and I had a wonderful experience. The hostess said our wait would be at least 35 minutes, however we sat after 15. I felt that there should be more seating for the amount of people that came. Our waitress was clearly experienced and knowledgable, however could've visited us more often. We ordered buffalo and "voodoo" wings for the appetizer and with tons of sauce and flavor, we loved them. For my entree, I got the Chicken BLT and the taste greatly outweighed the messiness. As a dessert, we got the pecan pie w/ mousse cup which was very yummy, especially if you like a lot of sweetness. What we liked most was how the chef Eric came out to speak with the patrons. He was extremely personable and spent a good 5-10 minutes talking to us, which we appreciated very much. I looked him up after and found out that we won the 2011 Chopped and obtained numerous impressive achievements. read more

Great spot. Plenty of seating and I love that there are outdoor tables in good weather. The food is good, delish martinis, and waitstaff is excellent. Brunch seems a little pricey, tho. read more

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday, and we both enjoyed it! We ordered a pitcher of peach sangria, which was amazing. He also ordered a margarita and felt that there was too much sour mix in the drink. We ordered the buffalo Chicken bacon dip as an appetizer. It was good, but the portion size was small. He ordered a pork and chorizo sandwich and I ordered the no dick quesadilla. Both meals were very good, but I think the pork sandwich was the best out of the two. This place is a bit pricey, but it's doable for a special occasion. We would definitely come back and try the beers and the burgers; they looked amazing! read more

I came to the restaurant for the first time to attend the open mic event. The hostess seated me on the patio and I asked her if a password was required for their Wi-Fi. She told me she didn't know but would find out and let me know. She gave me a menu. A server came by and took my drink order and quickly came back with my drink. As I am reading the paper menu I notice a bit of dried food attached to it which brings to mind what condition the parts of the restaurant that are not public are in. A group of four people come and sit across from me at another table. I open my iPad and see a password is needed for the Wi-Fi. After a few minutes my server comes out with the drink order for the table across from me. They were apparently his friends and/or regulars because he then delved into a social conversation for about 4 or 5 minutes (which seems a lot longer when you're hungry) while he is standing 3 feet away from me. When they were done catching up he then turned to me to ask what I would like to eat. I asked him to bring the check. I went over to let the open mic person to let him know I had planned to participate but didn't care for the place. He was very apologetic. The hostess never came back with the Wi-Fi password. I never got to try the food. read more

Paragon tap and table was a bit of a disappointment for me. It has good happy hour specials and a good beer selection but otherwise our experience was average. Honestly I'm surprised by the great views and the press they've received. Service was below average, the one guy manning the bar area was swamped and all over the place. At one point he came over to get our food order, walked away mid sentence to check on some food coming out, and then didn't return until we finished our appetizer to actually take our food order. We started with the wings, we had them sevendust or voodoo and beer glazed. The wings were a good size and well cooked. The beer glaze were sweet but I wouldn't have been able to tell that they had beer in them, the other ones were like a salty teriyaki and I didn't really enjoy it after the first bite. For my main I got the short rib sandwich. I thought they just didn't include all the ingredients on the menu but it's literally meat, onion rings, bread. It really could have used something else there, some sort of creamy sauce would have gone a long way. Not to say the sandwich wasn't good but it could have been so much better, the meat was really tender and pretty tasty. My girlfriend got the tuscan stack which she enjoyed. It was quite a bit of food with 2 pieces of chicken on it. Both of our entrees came with fries which were terrible, perhaps some of the worst fries I've ever had. They were tough and stale, they went into the garbage when we got home. We both finished about half of our sandwiches and took the leftovers home, the portion size was fairly large. We split a peanut butter brownie for dessert, it was decent but obviously fresh out of a sysco box. In summation it's a good spot for cheap happy hour beers and wings but in our experience not much else. read more
