Went for a quick toe polish change. I didn't have to wait long and got to sit in a pedicure seat while waiting. My toes were painted in 2 minutes. I wish it was a little longer and the paint job was decent. The ambiance was okay but nothing special. Nice friendly staff and fair price. I'd go back again for a full pedicure. read more

I have been getting my nails done for over thirty years and have never given a bad review to anyone, today is the exception. I called at 10:00 AM and made a same day appointment for 2:00 PM. I arrived five minutes early. When I walked into the salon it was crowded, I didn't think much of it, after all I had an appointment. I sat down to wait. The women next to me said that she and her daughter also had a 2:00 o'clock appointment. Then I heard another lady say she also had appointment at 2:00. After about twenty minutes I ask the receptionist how long she thought I would have to wait. By then everyone that had a 2:00(that I knew of) had gone back. She said I would be taken back as soon as she got the water ready for my pedicure. I was escorted back to the pedicure area, sat down and put my feet in cold water. So the poor receptionist came back and added hot water to the cold, result, warm water. I looked around and notice that all three of the ladies that had 2:00 appointment were now sitting with there feet in water, and nothing being done. Now it is 3:00, two of the three ladies were having their pedicures done, the other was still waiting and my feet where now in cold water, again. Since I sat down no one came to me and advised me of the situation. People came in and after a few minutes were being waited on. So I took feet out of the cold water, let the receptionist know I was leaving and what I thought of their scheduling abilities. I have know idea if they are good or bad at their jobs, but do know that customer service was inexcusable. read more

Had an appointment at 11:30, they were taking walk ins, and we were sitting there as they took the walk ins who came in after us, we asked the receptionist, sophia, and she was very rude, and told us "that's just customer service, sometimes you have to wait even if you have an appointment, we still have to take walk ins" I work customer service and that is not how you treat customers, I made an appointment because I have somewhere to be, I don't mind waiting, but when we're spoken to like we're stupid, it makes me not want to come back, which I won't be. This isn't the first time I've had problems with appointments here. We were trying to be nice, and I understand it's busy, but you don't speak to customers like that because it gives the whole nail salon a bad rep. read more

Moved to the area recently and needed to find a new nail place. I decided to try Paradise. The first time I went it was ok. Slightly sterile, not very friendly and definitely felt like a nail factory. They wanted you in and out. My nails looked just ok, but I decided to give it another try. The second time the lady kept cutting me and ripping my cuticles, but my nails looked passable. I'm pretty laid back, so it doesn't take much to please me. I decided to try it one more time to possibly find someone who I really liked. They lost power and I called to see if they would be reopen for my appointment. They laughed and said "No power, no nails." Ok, obviously. I have been calling for two days now trying to reschedule and they just don't answer the phone. I'm perplexed. Weird place. read more

I have been using paradise for years. This has happened to me 3x now. I make an appt for the technician that I go to - a week in advance. Get there. She has another appointment. When I expressed my frustration to the receptionist- she was extremely rude. I even apologized for being frustrated but said I Understand how busy she is - that's why I make an appointment a week in advance. The response was well she's booked and the appointment you made says it's for anyone. So what do you want to do? I simply said thank you and walked out. Very disappointing. The technician has done a wonderful job and I consider my nails to be perfect each time she does them. This chick didn't speak a lick of English, I had to ask her 3 times to remove the razor blade that she used to scrap the dead skin off my feet from the foot spa because it was floating around bumping into my legs in the water bath and she kept saying it's fine and I told her it's not fine. I was in a few days ago and the male owner was my tech - he yelled at me, insulted me, and I had to ask someone else to finish my nails he was so rude. My parents live in the area and twice I've tried Paradise when I've been in town. WORST place ever. It's basically a cattle call, people are coming in and they don't write names of walk-in's so you hope they remember the order, which they didn't yesterday when I went and one woman was taken out of order...or maybe, just forgotten. Everybody is told "5 minute" and it can be more like 20 - 25 minutes depending. Maybe it's just me, but generally when you are dealing with bare hands, feet, and other beautifying techniques there should be some standard of cleanliness...Paradise apparently doesn't practice that notion. The shop is very unkept the floors are gross and there appears to dirt and dust bunnies all around. I was there 1/2 hour after they opened so it was obvious that not much cleaning when on after they closed the night before. Call me crazy, but part of the experience of getting a manicure/pedicure is the whole "relaxation" aspect...if you are looking for that don't head to Paradise. Everything moves as quickly as possible as the techs are just trying to get you done as fast as possible so they can move on to the next person. I will say the price was reasonable $36 for the pedi/mani, but you get what you pay for. I would rather spend a little more money, have a cleaner environment, and have the tech take there time with my services. Needless to say, I won't be heading there again. Not worth it. read more

My friend made an appointment for us to get shellac manicures the lady was rude to her on the phone to start. We waited about 30 mins to be seated then no one saw us for awhile after that. People that walked in to get pedicures were sat right away and seen. She started to get her nails done and he seemed to really rush through hers. Someone else was going to start to do my nails but another worker yelled at him to see this other lady that was randomly left by her nail person in the middle of her appointment. I told both of the workers who were yelling over everyone that I didn't want to get my nails done anymore. The place looks very cute from afar but dirty and disorganized. This place really is TERRIBLE. I told them that I was getting engagement photos done, and that my nails had to be perfect. I told them that I did not want gel. They kept asking me why... I kept telling them that I was not interested. All I wanted was the manicure. First of all, I think that the gel manicure is nice if you are going for the 2 week look. I just needed it for ONE day. Leave me alone. Then they helped me pick a color... a nice red... I paid her with a $20 bill, and she gave me a $5 back. I guess that means I HAD to tip her $5. Of course, she had me pay and tip BEFORE she started painting. Only AFTER I asked did the technician tell me that that brand of nail polish costs $15 instead of the usual $13 because it will last longer than the Etsy or OPI. What? This is a joke. This is a rip-off. There was nothing I could do... She had already started painting, so I had her finish. My nails were filed crookedly. I had to re-file them when I got home, and then put another top coat on to make it look nice. For 20 ****ing dollars, I would expect a good manicure. My manicure lasted 4 days. There is another nail salon North of Wise Rd, on the West side that is so much better. I only went to Paradise Nails because the other salon was closed on Sunday.... NEVER AGAIN. They were a little rude, and REALLY pushy about the gel manicure. Then the chick screwed up her one job. I will not be back. read more

Will never go back to paradise. Not my usual salon and had an event on a sunday and had broken a nail the night before. I came in for a quick repair. I sat at a desk for 45 minutes before they even soaked the broken nail off. When someone finally came around to fix it she filed my nail into the completely wrong shape. I have coffin shaped nails and it is a complete square. Will never ever return. They work slow and are rude and not friendly either read more

Been here a couple times and had good experiences. Today- was horrible. Called and asked if I needed an appointment and was told no. Then I asked how long the wait was in which she said currently 20 mins. When I got there I was seated right away for my pedicure but sat for 20 minutes until someone came over to take off the shellac on my toes. Then soaked for another 25 minutes with my feet in acetone- mind you- I'm 34 weeks pregnant and felt uncomfortable with how long my toes were soaking in strong chemicals. When I approached the front desk girl after 45 minutes of this- she said "since you didn't want us to use the drill, it takes longer for the shellac to soak off" and basically told me I was lying with how long I'd been waiting. She took the shellac off my toes and said it won't be much longer. Waited another 10 minutes ( full hour at this point) and walked out. Asked the girl what I owed and she didn't even try to stop me or resolve anything. Will NEVER go back again. read more

The shop is lovely, and the massage chairs are great. Everything else I experienced - horrible. Made an appointment for a Mani/Pedi. I felt like I was part of an assembly line. Sat with my feet in the water for 25 minutes, nail tech didn't ask if I wanted my nails clipped, just did it. My toenails are not evenly filed. The woman next to me was getting the same service, and she was started 5 minutes before me, yet we finished at the same time. And the manicure. HORRIBLE. My nails are filed crooked, polish wasn't dried in between coats, I was never asked to wash my hands, less than 12 hours after the manicure my nails are all ready chipped. I just went shopping today, no crazy strenuous stuff! Not to mention my nails were smudged BY THE MANICURIST and instead of fixing it properly, she just applied topcoat over. The topcoat isn't even covering the entire polish. Just slapdashed on there. If I had realized that I'd have to redo my nails w/in 24 hours I wouldn't have tipped her at all. I have a cosmetology license, so I know how to do a basic manicure. Save yourself a trip. They only have time for their regulars. I went to Paradise nails on a Sunday afternoon recently. I received a gel manicure, shellac is what I requested. Before and after my manicure I noticed and said to the manicurist that the polish looked too thin. She told me if it's too thick it will not last. Two days later on a Tuesday my nails started chipping and cracking. On Wednesday morning I called the salon to explain what had happened, I asked if I could come back in and have my nails done over. I was told yes, I explained that I didn't wish to a have a problem when I arrived with this request. However, when I arrived and asked for the person I spoke to on the phone she directed my to the owner and yes there was a problem. At first he only wanted to repair the nail that was the most damaged. I insisted that the manicure be done over completely. Then he said it's our policy to charge $10 for this. I explained, this visit was inconvenient because it should have been done right the first time and I should not have to pay extra after being inconvenienced. He said ok. When I was done he still wanted me to pay $10. Which is not a lot, but was not our agreement. Needless to say I told him I would not be back because I felt as though being serviced at Paradise Nails was causing them too much of a problem. Then the owner said to me,"we don't want you come back!" Oh my , I hope his saying that was not because I am a minority. This was disturbing and humiliating. When I went on the Sunday for service it was for me as well as for my daughter, it was part of her birthday celebration. read more

The tech's at Paradise are sweet, friendly and very fast. I have been a customer for over a year when I developed a dark area under my nail. I asked at several appointments over a month's time about that spot and was told not to worry. Well, I did worry. I had them remove my acrylics. My nail looked horrible. They told me it was a fungus. I went to my dermatologist and it is not a fungus, but a bacterial infection. I am on an antibiotic and two ointments for my infected nail. When I think back, I don't ever remember seeing them clean the tools they worked with on my nails - not the brushes, the clippers - nothing. I recommend Paradise for a fast mani-pedi, but watch their tools and the cleanliness of the facility. read more

i've never got my nails done here but for eyebrow waxing it's my favorite place. Ask for Katie. She will do your eyebrows exactly how you want and take time to perfect then rather than rushing through them. Clean facility with comfy waiting couches. read more

Been here at least a handful of times for gel manicure. Seems to be an issue with each visit- poor quality "nail art" (a toddler might be able to do better) that they have no problem fully charging you for, they seem put-off when asked to do nail art (a popular trend these days), manicure doesn't last guaranteed 2 weeks (although, they will fix for 1/2 price), nails not prepped correctly for gel/shellac application, no attention to nails being so thin from over-filing & applying such thin gel layer that manicure cracks as thin nail bends, nail tech damaged manicure with portable UV light- did not fix, nail techs seem preoccupied with cellphones- facebooking, texting, etc. while at nail station performing manicures! Not very customer focused. Staff is aloof, apart from the owners, who obviously take pride in their business. Been going there for 4 months, still felt like I was treated as a walk-in "Joe Schmoe" every time. Too bad, because this is a great location, and the price could be right, if customer satisfaction mattered. read more
