Another really lovely dinner at Parable! Caesar salad is a little heavy on anchovy but I love it that way- just a warning in case you don't prefer that. Best time to come for dinner is during happy hour for $10 wine pours, super generous and interesting wines. We had the Burger, fried chicken sandwich, and the cauliflower Reuben. All were delicious but actually the cauliflower Reuben really stuck out to me- super delicious and flavorful, not something I would have ordered initially but after tasting my friend's I would definitely order. I've been loving coming here for meals, service is always friendly and fast, food exceeds expectations, and I always have great drinks! Yay parable!
Really inventive and creative drinks at Parable. This downtown gem is a bit hard to get to. We only found paid parking right next to it but from other reviews saw you could get a parking voucher from a garage nearby. What I noticed right away were the locals working, reading, and others at the bar enjoying a drink. It was a very lively space which is always a good sign. Pretty simple decor and had a cool minimalist style. The person helping us was great and so friendly. They helped us with our drinks and we ended up getting the Amma's Chai and the Koyo. They asked us if we were visiting and we had a short chat about Sey Coffee in Brooklyn. I was so intrigued by the Koyo as it had gochuang listed in the ingredients. The spice kick was appreciated and delicious. Parable Cafe is a must visit spot for me, if you're staying downtown.
This place seems to be a higher end cafe. I went on Sunday at 10:00am and every seat was filled. Great unique pastry options and nice lattes. I like that the sesame miso latte was not too sweet and has subtle flavors that hit just right. The prices were high but the quality matched. $40 for a cappuccino, latte, 2 pastries. I loved it and would go back. Must note the men's room being Overtly progressive, the only time I have actually seen female sanitary pads in a bathroom marked "men's". Just an interesting side note.
The pastries were mouthwateringly good. They were soft, sweet, and creamy. The service is fast, friendly, and warm. They pick pastries to fit the flavors and pallet you've got at the time. They also give amazing recommendations and are very kind. The matcha is also tasty. It's creamy and well blended. The ambiance is warm, airy, and pleasant. There's lots of greenery inside and a nice open layout with big windows and comfortable indoor and outdoor seating.
I was here twice during my trip in Columbus. The first time I went there at 10 something. There was already a long line and a lot of pastries was already sold out. They have a lot of different unique lattes. I got the onion and mushroom danish and wham bam thank you yam to go. All of the tables were filled. The mushroom danish cheese was very good. The outside is flaky and rich like a croissant. The latte was very good just the right amount of sweetness of the yam. The second time, I went there extra early I ordered the pistachio croissant and the sesame miso caramel latte. This time there was a lot of empty tables. I got to sat down and enjoy. The staff is super nice and if you are eating there,they would bring the drinks to your table. The cafe is beautiful and clean. It have lots of plants all over the cafe. It is not too loud in there to sit down and enjoy your drinks. The coffee and pastries are a little on the expensive side, but it is worth to try it if you are in Columbus.
Parable Cafe is a must try if you're in the area! I was excited to see they have the croissants that have been on social media! It is on the pricier side for a coffee shop though - a pour over was $8! - it's worth it if you want to treat yourself. When we came, they had a line out the door! I had a strawberry croissant and it was worth the wait. The inside was a mix of customers - some were working (they have WiFi), some couples were on dates/outings, and others were enjoying a drink with their books.
I have friend who has been doing the marketing for cafe and bakeries around Columbus lately. Decided to give this place a try aside from my regular spots... you guys this place is so cute!! Really loved it from the moment I walked in. From the ceiling design to the lighting fixtures and to the full length windows this place has all the vibes! When I got there, I was greeted promptly and nicely. The coffees took a little longer than usual for a cafe but the presentation was super cute. I had a cheesy scone and a cortado, not much left for baked goods at 3:30 on the afternoon so I will definitely be back. Lots of options for types of seating; lounge, high bar top, table and chairs, and of course the bar top. Others were either working on their computers, meeting with friends or co-working. It's pretty open space so sound does bounce, but I didn't think it was too loud or disruptive. They had a cute glass fireplace in the center. Lots of plants hanging around. For the short while I was there I loved the entire experience!!
First time visiting and can't wait to go back! The salted Carmel miso latte was incredible! The chocolate croissant was as big as my head and soooo flakey and delicious. Not pictured but you must get the egg sandwich! The service was great - the gentleman taking orders was so fun. Ambiance = amazing. Can't wait to visit again.
Decided to try the nearest cafe next to my hotel and was not disappointed. Good selection of pastries and drinks. Decent seating. Helpful staff. I got the iced vanilla latte it was really good and well balanced between espresso flavor and their house made vanilla syrup. I also ordered their leek cheese croissant. That one was ok but nothing too special. Overall would come again for sure at least for their coffee!
Absolutely love Parable!! My friend and I came in on a Saturday morning and the place was decently packed but were able to find a table. When you walk in you can order and then find a table to sit and they will bring your drinks to the table. There is a good amount of indoor seating, as well as bar seating! I got a drink from their winter seasonal menu and if you like ginger I highly recommend it! It was called oh snap! ginger cap! And was so yummy. They have oatmilk as their only non dairy milk. My friend got their masala chai latte and really enjoyed it as well. We also got a pistachio croissant that was so delicious!! it was a bit on the sweet side so just keep that in mind, but I'd suggest it if you're looking for a pastry! Overall a phenomenal experience, just think it was a tad expensive but would come again :)
Expensive but worth. I tried the "6 more weeks of winter" seasonal drink, a sipping chocolate with banana, sesame, and ruby chocolate. The ingredients were high quality and the drink was very smooth. I'll be sad to see it leave the menu, but I'm excited for the spring drinks. It's an okay place to study if you don't mind noise--it gets very crowded and the music is loud. Service is good--the cashier kindly recommended me some options when I was looking at the menu. Overall would come back for the quality of the drinks!

It had been a long overdue on a visit to the Parable Cafe. I haven't been back since they introduced the pastry line up for quite some time now. All the amazing looking pastries are nicely display right by the front counter. You have no idea how hard it is for me to select which one to try, cause I want to try them all. It happen to be a rainy and cloudy day. But can't beat the lively and cozy atmosphere. Surrounded with green plants and seat back relax by the fireplace. read more
Time to update in honor of #ThankYouThursday Parable Coffee recently moved downtown into the old Nosh spot. What they've done with the place is down right impressive. It was pretty as a restaurant, it's even prettier as a tropical oasis meet coffee shop. It's spacious, has great natural light, a variety of seating and the vibe was great. The staff continues to be super cool and the drinks are as tasty as ever. I will say that parking in the area is a bit of a pain but it's worth it if you plan to stay a good while. I'll definitely continue to visit them and I'm thankful to have such a place in Columbus. Can't wait to come back. read more

This was my first time at Parable and I just know this is the first of many. The food is phenomenal, I got the Vermonter Pan Suisse as recommended by the individual who worked there. The service is was efficient and the ambiance is to die for! Extra points for the relaxing music, I was able to take my headphones off and use the stereo as my lofi study tunes! read more
We went to Parable a few hours before their "after dark" Saturday nights. It was super busy, and the only pastries they had left were croissants. There wasn't any seating left inside, so we opted for the patio. They brought our food and drinks out to us and everything was very enjoyable. One thing to note is they price their items in order to pay their staff a living wage, and they do not take tips. Two croissants and our two drinks were a little over $30. Ambiance - 100000/10 - the vibes are PERFECT HERE!! I wish I could sit and work on my computer all day here because it is just instant serotonin. Service - everyone that works here is SO KIND!! Such a welcoming atmosphere. Food/coffee - GREAT coffee and GREAT pastries. It is on the pricier side, but they actually pay their employees and they don't take tips so it's worth it!! read more
If you didn't know about it, you might walk right past it. The inside is beautiful, hip and full of plants. They have a full bar, many coffee and tea options as well as pastries. I got a citrus rosemary scone because that's all they had left, ha! They open at 7a and I asked and employee, she said they will sell out of their croissants by 10a. That said, the scone was very good and so was their coffee. They have a nice area to sit outside and tons of space inside as well. I'm going to come back earlier in the day, but what I had this time was great and I will be back. :) read more
I have been wanting to check out this coffee shop for a long time! I tried the Oh, Snap, Ginger Cap! Latte which was phenomenal it tasted almost like an oatmeal cookie! The only thing was the price ! $8.00 but I guess you get what you pay for! If you are ever in the area check out this place, they have a cool vibe overall in the coffee shop. Very chill and relaxing. Let me preface this review by saying "Yes this is probably the most expensive coffee shop I've ever been to." It is also the most beautiful. I mean the vibe, the PLANTS , the natural lighting it is all so beautiful. Now on to the coffee, I absolutely love it. It's pretty good good and the staff has always been very friendly and chill. Great ambience. Looks great for almost every reason visiting a cafe, hang out, studying, relaxing etc. Honestly their menu price does not seem reasonable but understandable for the location and they offer a parking validation. The parking garage location is available on their website. I ordered two pastries, cherry almond and mango goat cheese. Cherry one was too sweet and too plain for me. Mango was better with both tangy and savory flavor. I also like how they rotate seasonal drink menu. I will come back to try new drinks. read more

I visited Parable for morning coffee and pastry run. The choices for coffee are unique , seasonal ! The ambience of the cafe with plants and sun coming in made the morning enjoyable ! is it ever too early for pumpkin?! Will visit it again when back in town . read more

Love this new spot! Almost didn't know where it was, but it's in the same space as Commune. We walked into a gorgeous room with tons of windows to let in natural light, lots of plants, and neutral modern furniture. Staff was friendly and explained the menu. I think the owner was the one who rung us up. I ordered the lavender latte while my sister got some sort of maple cortado with sage? I'm not into super sweet drinks so my latte was just right. The espresso is light as well. I'll likely ask for another shot next time. Prices are a bit elevated, as everyone's reviews say. But they make their own syrups. And I'm assuming rent around here could be getting higher due to gentrification? Haven't done my research lol Still, the drinks were good and I like the vibe. It's easy to find parallel parking on a Saturday morning and it would be fun to hang out there. read more
Beautiful coffee shop in downtown Columbus. I've never been here before, but rest assured I will be back. This trendy coffee shop is beautiful inside. Warm wood furniture and green plants make this spot very nice. But the beauty doesn't stop there. The pastry selection looks like a work of art. If they taste half as good as they look, I'll be impressed. The staff were helpful and friendly. I'd highly recommend you give this spot a try. read more
This was a tough review choice... parable is the most visually appealing cafe in Columbus. It offers an amazing working environment with just enough hustle and bustle to enjoy leaving your house. Some cons however include: the lack of food options (only bakery), the amazing looking but sadly over cooked baked goods, and lack of parking. These cons make me really dislike this place. Their saving grace is that tips are not requested at the end of the transaction and the staff is super friendly still. read more

I really enjoyed my experience here. The place is beautiful but relaxed enough to sit and enjoy a slow morning on your own or come have a coffee with friends. The attitude of the women at the counter left much to be desired, but it didn't take away from my overall enjoyment. I had the cherry almond croissant with a vanilla latte and both were absolutely incredible. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town. read more
I wanted to go here a few times before writing a review. Here are my thoughts. Service: varied. My first time in, the gal at the register was quite rude, and when asked about pastry offerings, she just gestured at them and wouldn't provide any info on them. She didn't make small talk, and she seemed pretty unhappy being there. The next time I went there, the FOH staff was more neutral but busy. The time I just went, I was rung up by one of the owners, who explained what things were and was nice and conversational. In general, I feel that for the traffic they receive on the weekends, the service is very slow. The wait time for a 30-person queue was over 30 minutes. If I was by myself I would have skipped it for Pistacia Vera, a few minutes down the road with similar pastry offerings. Ambiance: I know they took over from Nosh, and kept the place basically the same. I think upon entering the first time in winter, I was really impressed. However, as time went on, I really wished for a more accommodating layout. Vibe is really important for a cafe, I know. The couches are great, especially near a fireplace, but 2/3 times I went, 2 people lay claim to all of them, and stayed for at least as long as I was there. Removing the couches could provide more seating, or maybe having loveseats instead or comfy chairs, and two tables would allow for comfort and also provide more seating. It's always packed there, and most 4 tops are occupied by one person and their computer. Then there's the bar. It's cool but not really used. It takes up a TON of space, and if they took it out, the place would feel more open and would better meet the needs of their customers who want to sit and sit. Food: The pastries I had the last time were good (savory scone and apricot frangipani). However, my friend and I went to try their croissants, and literally two parties before us took the last one. There were also sticky buns we wanted and there were a few on the shelves behind the register but they were apparently spoken for by other customers and couldn't be sold. That felt weird. What we had was good, but not what we came for. I know their pastry chef is highly talented by what he makes, and he's new. I think they could tweak the number they make (again, to meet their customer volume), and also FOH staff could try to display the other pastries better. ---- TL;DR: at face value, it's pretty, but there are quite a few of operational roadblocks for customers that hinder efficiency and, consequently, the overall experience for the customer. If given the option, I will opt for a cafe with similar level or better of quality (coffee: Brioso or Florin; pastries: Pistacia Vera). They are both markedly cheaper on the whole (and I always tip 20%) and lead to a better overall experience. read more

The Parable is a beautiful spot that has an elevated, indie-feel, with uber-cool baristas, small portions, and overpriced drinks (said with love because this place is great, but brutal honesty is needed). Great iced chai and indoor/outdoor seating! read more

The espresso is delicious and I have been told the matcha never disappoints. However, this is definetly one of the more expensive coffee shops in the area and you can end up paying $8+ for a latte. I have heard the pastries are great but they are normally sold out of most of them by 10:00am. The employees here are always very nice and helpful, but there is normally a line and it doesn't move super fast. The inside of the shop has plenty of seating and is a great study spot for OSU students. read more

OMG! This is a must see in Columbus. I've never had a bad pastry. And the chai (both traditional and turmeric) are so good I bought two cases for home! In addition, the staff is lovely and service is quick. read more
Nothing extremely bad happened but honestly I live one block away from this place and I would never come back here. The coffee is peak average, and about the most expensive in the area, $17 for a 12 ounce latte and 20 ounce cold brew with oat milk. Much better off going to another place in the area. read more

I got a bit of sticker shock when looking at the menu. Coffee prices are expensive. In this case, the quality of the drink made up for its price. I ordered a vanilla bean latte with oat milk. It was delightful. Cafe service was friendly and restaurant decor was colorful. read more

This day was chilly and the AC was blasting inside... burr. Decor was nice with a green-touch and even the other patrons were respectful. Lattes were tasty and I appreciated the oat milk option. This cute little spot had been on my list to try for a while. It was extremely busy on Sunday morning. We had to stand outside before we could make it inside the line was so long. Luckily it was a nice day. I was also shocked to see the pasty cabinet was near empty already at 11am- having never been here before I was a little disappointed by this. Miraculously, right before we got to the front the guy working the counter put two brand new offerings in the case, but I would have been upset if I didn't get to choose from those as a customer right before us. A little weird how they handled that, but lucky we got a new selection. Between my friend and I we ordered the cinnamon bun and a butter croissant and we each ordered the coconut mocha. Everything was absolutely top notch. I have no idea how they make their pastries so flaky. The mocha was hand crafted to perfection, looked beautiful and tasted fresh and so delicious. I also brought home a pear tart to my husband (that I of course tried) and we both thought it might have been the star of the show! They bring your drinks and warmed up pastries out to you, which is nice so you can enjoy catching up. Even though the pastry case situation was weird, the taste made up for it! I recommend trying this place out if you're looking for a fabulous croissant or cup of joe! read more
