We ate inside, and were seated right away. They had some fantastic seasonal drinks on their menu. I ordered a iced pumpkin chai. I was a bit disappointed as it didn't taste like chai at all and more like coffee. I am not a coffee drinker and did not see anywhere in the description that it had coffee in it. The drink was bitter. However, I also ordered the ruben sandwich with fries. This did not let me down. Our food came out hot and was delicious. I ended up eating the whole meal. It wasn't large portions but just enough. Afterwards we strolled through the little apothocary store. They had a variety of health supplements, tinctures, bulk jar items and drinks available. For being a small space they had a nice arrangement of options for different ailments and maintenence routines.

Expensive? Yes. Incredible? Also yes…read more The sushi here was incredible. Given that it's technically in a strip mall, my expectations weren't very high but I was quickly transported and impressed. I've been to quite a few Omakase dinners that left more to be desired and this was not the case here. The dinner here was on par with some I've had in NYC. We opted to add on the premium course which I would recommend highly. The wagyu was absolutely incredible. The courses were timed well and I felt extremely satisfied. One thing to note is that they do not sell wine by the glass. You'll want to order a bottle or do the pairing. We did not do the pairing since my husband had to drive, but coming back I would definitely add that. For the premium omakase, a bottle of wine, and one additional piece of nigiri each, our dinner for two ran around $440 before tip.

REVIEW BY: Avila.Eats on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube…read more Service: attentive waitress. Explained all courses throughly and with detail. Friendly. Ambiance: inside is a well lit open space. The Omakase counter is a beautiful experience. Dining tables are also well decorated. Spacing is well done for it being a fairly small interior. Food: 1. First course: misu soup has a rich broth. The tofu is soft and slightly squishy. I'm not a big soup fan so this isn't anything special for me. 3 2. Second course: right to left. Right was fatty and melted in your mouth. The wasabi topping added a nice kick to the flavorful fatty tuna. 7. The middle fatty, soft, flavorful punch from the chipotle sauce. Spicy and flavorful. The bean sprouts add a great crunch and contrast to the richness. This one was incredible. 9. Third one fatty and tender. This one had a sweet component that was a pleasant change from the rich fish. 6.75 3. Third course: right one is fatty and strong. Flavor is punchy. 3. Second one is rich and strong. Starts sweet and ends with a salty strong pungent flavor. 5. Third one was smoky and sweet. Pungent and strong. 6 4. Fourth course: hand roll was packed full of flavor. Kimchi sauce added a beautiful spice. Avacado was creamy and rich with the bluefin tuna. Tenkasu added a great crunch. 8.5. Middle one is rich. Salmon flavor pairs beautifully with the sweetness of the Karashi. 8.75. Third one is rich and powerful. Sweet eel with a strong umami flavor. Crispy potatoes add a great texture change. My favorite. 9.5. 5. Fifth course: uni add on was incredible. Fatty and savory. The uni melts like butter and is slightly sweet. 9. First roll strong flavors. Rich and slightly sweet with a tang that lingers throughout. 7.75. Second meaty with a spice kick. Tender and very savory. 7.5. Third is sweet and more subtle. 7.75. Fourth is fatty savory but not super fishy. Little sweet but packed with umami flavor. 9. Fifth A-5 is extremely tender and fatty. Melt in your mouth. The chef sauce is sweet and tangy. Very sweet and kinda takes the flavor from the beef. Flavor wise 6.75 6. Sixth course: lemon chocolate tart is excellent. Strong lemony flavor. Smooth and runny yet still creamy. Chocolate tart is subtle but adds a light chocolate flavor. 7

Moldovan wine... Ukrainian beer…read more.. Icelandic beer... Irish mead... Indian beer... Japanese sake... Serbian wine... Polish Beer... Have I piqued your interest? Good, mission accomplished, keep reading... I enjoy sipping on a boozy beverage from time to time and maybe you do too. One of my favorite places to search for new finds is Palmer's, a long time (since 1976) Clintonville favorite. I like this place. It's an adult beverage micro-emporium that markets an interesting mix of beer and wine for the imbibing community. They offer many of the usual standards along with an ever-changing, eclectic mix that's sure to keep most anyone interested. Get to know Emily, the owner / manager / buyer as she's really knowledgeable about their product. She's always helpful and she doesn't have that snobby pretentiousness that you sometimes find in other beer and wine stores. Let's talk about the wine first. You'll find French, Spanish, Italian, German, Chilean, Argentine and American wines here. If you're looking for something that's unique ask Emily about their selection of Moldovan, Serbian or Georgian (the country, not the state) wines. These wines are hidden gems, IE quite good but hard to find. So, if you're looking to impress someone... We need to talk about the beer too. Of course, Palmer's has all the popular North American favorites, but I generally check them out for their interesting selection of microbrews and imports. Palmer's rotates a diverse range of brews from places like: Ireland, England, Scotland, Poland, Mexico, Iceland, Germany, India and yes, even Dayton Ohio, to name just a few. They never stock up heavily on their microbrews and imports so if you see it, you want it, you might want to buy it because it's probably not going to be there next time you visit. I highly recommend this place. 5 very solid stars. And Here's A Little Extra Pour In Your Glass: ** Palmer's is perfectly located. You'll find India Oak Bar and Grill where you can find some of the best subs in Cbus just across the street, Rodo's European restaurant right next door and two great pizza places just up Indianola, Dante's Pizza and Gatto's Pizza. Food and drink all in one convenient spot. What's not to like? ** Wine makes a great gift for birthdays, housewarming, family dinners, holidays, hostess gift or even just a simple appreciation gift. ** Palmer's will give you a 10% discount when you buy 6 or more bottles of wine.

Around OSU you can't get enough beer. I always liked this store better than the shady ones closer…read moreto campus. Palmer's has a better selection of crafts and local stuff. Friendly service is another reason it's better. The prices aren't that bad especially for an independent store. Because it's a smaller place, it doesn't have as much on hand as big stores carry. It makes up for it by having more craft and local. The selection actually is pretty good when looking at how many harder to find brands are in stock. Prices are good. These are comparable with other local stores. It carries a lot of name brands. They also have harder to find varieties of these brands, like stuff that comes out seasonally. It often gets mentioned by many amateur and professional critics alike as the best beer store in Columbus. Prices and the friendly knowledgeable staff have much to do with it. The other reason is the selection they have for an independently owned local store.
