I am so glad we stumbled upon this restaurant on our way to the doctor. We ordered two meals and by the time we sat down after getting our drinks, the food was on the table. I walked up and heard a man yelling at someone for not being able to park their truck fast enough and to "learn to drive it if you own it." First time back since the remodel. The interior is fresh and enlarged. They now have a bar area near the front door. However, when I was here, Friday at 2:30pm they were very busy, with a long line at the order register. A seat opened up at the bar so I sat down. After 10 minutes of sitting at the bar no one came by. So I jumped into the line. They only have one register in operation and waited another 10 minutes to place my order. They could use more staff, two registers open and if you have a bar area then have a bartender. At least someone to tell you if you want to order food you need to line up for the registers. This was the first time I have ever had to use a fork and knife to cut my Moussaka. The eggplant and sliced potatoes were very al dente. The pita was warm and soft and the tzatziki was spot on. And the Mythos Beer was nice and cold. Parking can be an issue right now with construction work going on at other shops nearby. There is obviously lots of parking in the mall lots if need be. Also, if you were here before the remodel/expansion the main door has moved further down and is easily hidden by a pillar. This place really satisfied my craving for a big fat gyro. The lamb/beef combo is so good and plentiful, with just the right amount of fera and tzatziki sauce to top it off. (Go for the deluxe gyro.) I would have liked a bit more garlic/herbs in the sauce - but it was creamy and truly a nice accompaniment to the boldness of the meat. This is a clean restaurant, with ordering at a counter and then taking food to a wide open seating area. It's a little sterile and not real comfortable. Very good and fresh pita bread, but the rest of the food was just so-so. The meat was a little dry, but had reasonable flavor. I haven't had Greek food in awhile and decided to stop at Pappoule's for a to-go order of avgolemono soup and baklava. I arrived about 10 minutes after they opened, and the line was already to the door (entrances are at either side of the restaurant). As I waited, I noted that the remodeled interior has a nice, modern look with clean lines and a visible food prep area. The patio has ample seating for nicer days. There also is a bar area, though no one was working it at lunch time. It took about 10 minutes to get to the front of the line. I asked if my to go order would be behind all of the dine-in orders that involved more than scooping soup. The cashier told me it would not take that long. She boxed my baklava and, after ringing out a few customers behind me, went over to the food prep area to get the soup and fresh pita that comes with it. The total wait time from door to receiving my order was about 15 minutes. The bowl of soup was a good size, thick, and flavorful. The pita was wrapped to keep it warm and was a soft, chewy texture. The baklava was fresh, and they'd added a spoon of honey over the top. All in all, a good meal for a reasonable price. read more

Delicious food, huge portions, affordable prices-what more can you ask for? I ordered the spanikopita, which was nice and flaky and the starter combo plate. The combo plate allowed me to try a few of their offerings- the dolmas were great and pita came with 3 spreads (spicy feta, 2 types of hummus), and a big portion of greek salad. My husband ordered dolmas and the gyro and it was massive! It was filled with so much meat and toppings, we could barely see the pita. The first thing you notice is the ambiance of the restaurant as soon as you walk in. It has plenty of seating options: outdoor patio, indoor, and bar seating. We visited Pappoule's after a long day and drive from Phoenix, and we ordered their signature Gyro. It was perfect for what we needed. Recently my family has been on a hunt for good Greek food. It all started in a small restaurant in Torrington CT called yaiyais. My daughter (read as picky eater) loved her first experience with Greek food. Ok enough of the preamble, on to the review. Our fiends recommend that we get the gyro platter and a Greek salad. I added the Greek fries (guilty pleasure) and spicy humus. The spicy humus was served with warm pita bread. For me the spice level was low. My wife thought it was spicy. Either way it was delicious. I like the Greek fries. Once again there is nothing super special about the fries but eh combination of feta and French fries works for me. I did not share them. Speaking of sharing my wife and I did divvy up the salad and gyro platter. Both were delicious. The meat was flavorful and came in long strips. You place your order at the counter and they deliver it to you table. Similar to a fast food but with table service. Oh, I almost forgot. We ordered the baklava. Awful service. Looking at the time stamp on our receipt, we were waiting 40 minutes before I finally got up and asked a server what was taking so long. She asked my number (they give you a number to place at your table) and I gave it along w explaining I understood if they were backed up as it was very busy but why had they not at least brought out our hummus appetizer or soup? I mean, I know you aren't making hummus to order...it's been made the day before or early in the morning...just scoop it up and send it out! She said ok let me deliver another order and I'll get it right out. 10 minutes later...I get up again and say I thought you were going to send out the hummus app? She said it'll be out shortly...so about 1 minute later the entire order arrives. No apologies for the wait, no offer to get us another drink (a beer and margarita). Just worst customer service ever. Being a business owner myself I'm extremely understanding...and when I know things are behind/late or falling apart I'm proactive with my customers and usually comp them something extra w their order for the wait or just do something extra nice for them.
