Great service, breakfast was plentiful and prices are reasonable. We ate a great breakfast with coffee for two and we were at $18.49. There are other breakfast choices that would have made that even less.

Took the family, including my parents, to Pappou Cafe for dinner last night. We've haven't been here as a family since it was Laurel's back in the day. I haven't been impressed with Pappou based on my recent visits, but since they have a soup and salad bar, I knew my parents would enjoy it. In addition, it is about three blocks from my house, which adds to the convenience factor. Upon arrival, we were quickly seated and served drinks. Once my parents arrived, our orders were promptly taken by the young waitress. I ordered stuffed shells and helped myself to the salad bar. The salad was delicious, but the chicken soup wasn't impressive. My stuffed shells were piping hot and tasty. I found myself wanting more pasta sauce, however. My dad and wife both ordered burgers, which were cooked correctly and, according to them, were delicious. They offer 6 and 8 oz patties. My mom ordered the fish fry, which I indulged in and found to be delicious. Great fish! I think we found a new go-to spot because the prices are very reasonable and I love the down home diner atmosphere.

Our first time here and we are quite impressed. Thanks to our fellow Yelpers we saw good reviews of this place and they were accurate. They have a four page breakfast menu that was extensive and so much looked delicious especially the breakfast pizza. I ordered The Fella and hubby got the Italian skillet; both well proportioned. Quick and friendly service! Planning our next trip back here

We visited this local restaurant today for a quick breakfast. In my humble opinion, a short order cook should be able to do a better job on an omelet, but the coffee was brewed just fine. The local's apparently love this place - I saw two of them - most likely because it's very reasonably priced. Photos: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/vBWJ7jAj4za5hXZKN0T1JQ

Family Greek/American restaurant with a large menu and large portions. We always take food home. Very good.

Nice family restaurant with some Greek dishes on the menu. Simple decor. Clean. Friendly staff. Lots of veggies on the salad bar. Dinner plate is served full. We always take some home. Yummy homemade desserts. Ideal for 10-12 people, too.

John & Loreta Family Restaurant is a diner tucked away in a plaza in Parma. If you're a breakfast…read morelover, this diner might be a good fit. They offer breakfast all day. It was the first search that popped up as I was searching for family style meal nearby. And so, I checked out this diner for breakfast. AMBIENCE: Mom and pop diner frozen in time. Think simple decor, worn booths, few dated tables, and mismatched art. The atmosphere is very relaxed and casual. Most guests were local couples. This is a no-frills food-focused experience. FOOD/DRINKS: Orders and payment are accepted at the counter. Your food order is delivered to your table. You will be provided with a tray so that you can later return your plates and cutlery on this tray. The restaurant most offers self-service. The menu is displayed overhead at the counter. The menu is simple, featuring breakfast specials, lunch specials, omelets, and breakfast sandwiches. This diner is very value oriented. You can order a meal for one for around $10, which is now a rarity. I ordered Gyro Cheese Omelet ($9.99), John's Favorite Salad ($6.99), and hot tea ($1.99). Omelet was served with home fries and a piece of toast. Gyro meat is not frozen, there is gyro spit located right behind the counter. The omelet was alright, but not notable. Omelet ingredients were scarce - meat and cheese. John' Favorite Salad seems like a Greek salad - tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, olives, olive oil, and feta. The dish seems not cohesive. It's just very light and lacking flavor. Hot tea was a mug with non-branded tea bag. Black tea only. To me the food was subpar. It wasn't really restaurant quality. It's something you'd expect to eat at someone's home, which might be its own charm. SERVICE: The service is indifferent unless you're a regular. It was heartwarming to see the staff call their regulars by their names. The service is so focused on regulars that at some point the regular cut me off in line. The guest just walked up and stood in front of me in line. I was genuinely amused by this development. I didn't have urgent plans so it wasn't a big deal. The waitress mentioned that he was just picking up an order and I'll be next. All in all, I didn't feel welcome as a new guest. PARKING: There is a large shared plaza parking lot for your convenience. In winter months the parking lot is not well salted, might be icy. This diner is a worthy destination if you're looking for a quick breakfast. It wasn't the best diner food I've tasted, it was just okay. I didn't particularly enjoy any part of my experience. If you're looking for cheap food and low key spot, stop in.

I met a friend for breakfast this morning, and everything from start to finish was spot on. I ordered the Sweet Jalapeño Sandwich: an English muffin piled with jam, bacon, an egg cooked over medium, and cheddar, served with home fries. It was the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and just a little kick. My friend stuck with her usual: the Banana & Bourbon Caramel Bread Pudding French Toast, topped with fresh bananas and their homemade bourbon caramel sauce, plus a side of pork belly. It looked incredible and, according to her, tasted just as good as it always does. We arrived just a few minutes after they opened at 8:00 and were seated right away. The service was friendly, attentive, and very prompt without feeling rushed. Scratch has such a great casual, local diner feel, but with a menu that's anything but ordinary. The portions are generous, the flavors are unique, and the quality is consistently excellent. Definitely a go-to spot for breakfast or brunch...you really can't go wrong here.

White walls, glass windows in front, a few things hung on the walls. Not fancy, but pleasant. Very clean. The food is phenomenal. I've been dreaming about their biscuits and gravy since my last visit. Still perfect. The home fry-style potatoes are what a lot of places try to serve but fail at miserably. They are crispy AND fluffy! Yum! My scrambled eggs were not at all greasy or oily. My iced tea was delicious and refreshing. My lovely wife had the chorizo hash, which I tried. Oh, my. So good. And the chipotle crema on top was just perfect. They have excellent diner coffee here as well. My service experience was immaculate the first time and just OK today. He was fine initially, but I feel like he kind of forgot about us after he checked on our food. We were stuck way in the back. Maybe he was on a break, which is fine. I spent time as a waiter in two different restaurants, so I'm sympathetic, but I did not get a drink refill, and I wanted one pretty badly. This is one of my favorite breakfast spots, and it feels like a hidden gem.
