We had dinner at Schnitz Ale Brewery for dinner on a Sunday evening. The restaurant has an open yet cozy feel with a winter lodge atmosphere. We were seated right away but the dining room was very full and it took a little while for our server to make her way to our table. She was very friendly but obviously managing a lot of tables at once. By the time our server got to us we were ready to order. I tried the Shrimp and Grits, which were fantastic, flavorful and well spiced. The classic schnitzel dinner was also great, the breading was crisp and the meat was juicy. We also ordered the winter salad with salmon. Delicious! The schweinhaxe was what brought us here on a Sunday evening as my dad has been wanting to try it for a long time and there's limited availability. It is a slow smoked pork knuckle served with a side of apple bread pudding. My dad reported that the knuckle was tender and flavorful, smoked well and the bread pudding was the perfect compliment. All in all, all of our dinners were delicious and fresh. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu!
Met family here for dinner and to celebrate my dad"s 85 birthday. While they have amazing desserts, they were kind enough to let us bring in our own home baked gluten free birthday cake. The beer was awesome! I had a peanut butter stout. Yum! The appetizers we ordered were all great and the schnitzel dinner / delicious! There were plenty of tables inside, an upstairs and lovely patio for outside dining in pleasant weather. Great place for 12. People plus a ten month old! ( we did call for reservations ) Definitely will be back !! My dad sooo enjoyed everything! Thank you all for great beer and dinner !!! Definitely will be back !
Incredible! This place has such a good environment as well as delicious food. We came here twice on our week on our week long work trip and we might be back a third soon!
Visited Schnitz Ale Brewery with the wife recently. We had some drinks at the bar. I didn't think they offered a full menu, but they do. So we decided to visit again to try the menu items. On this visit, we requested two beer flights. The beers were very good and we'll definitely visit for some more. I was expecting the German beers that they serve on draft in the restaurant across the street to also be served at this brewery, but they indeed were not. I very much enjoy the German beers served at the restaurant. Thus, I will continue to frequent the restaurant for the beer and wienerschnitzel.
With brews and scenery this good, you'll forget you're in Parma (lol sorry Parma). Upscale brew spot with impeccable ambiance and vibe. Fantastic food from apps to dinner. Service was friendly but a bit of a wait-way worth it!
Wanted something "different" while visiting Cleveland. Was recommended this from my hotel staff and so glad I was. Beer selection is varied nicely. Their pretzel is outstanding and the Nashville Hot Schnitzel is definitely worth trying. Good stuff!
Service was amazing, ambiance was perfect and not too loud or rough to watch the game. Good: I had the chicken schnitzel which I can honestly say wasn't the greatest. My chicken was overcook and tasted like a piece of fish to the point I asked the server what fish they cooked in the same grease. The mashed potato and vegetables were absolutely Amazing! I also enjoyed the gravy and would have probably give my meal 110 out of 100 if my chicken didn't taste like fish We also had the smoke house platter which was AMAZING!! 100% recommend. Ok, I had to change my review because the Schwartz beer is amazing and thes leche cupcake
Had a lovely dining experience tonight . I had a salmon burger with pickled onions . My cousin in law had a crash out in the parking lot because of flat tire . After he ate dinner , he perked up and was less cranky .. he had the Rueben . He said it was good , then said it was bad 5 hours later after another crash out . We just took his blood pressure . 143/90 .
We just had lunch across the street at Das Schnitzel Haus and wanted to get another Pierogi Week place off our list. We just got some drinks and I got the order of fries. My brother got the cranberry fizz drink. He liked it; Wasn't crazy about it. My mom's espresso martini felt like just that. Not as much pumpkin as she was anticipating. I had a mocktail that was just soda water with mint; a lot of mint. Decent, not crazy about it. I feel for the two girls there. The place was packed and it was just them two. Who I'm assuming was the manager was at the hostess stand/upstairs was not in the greatest mood. Mind you, there was nobody upstairs. I could see myself going back and enjoying the TVs with a good game on. The menu was extensive with plenty of options. Fun environment. Overall good not great.
I attended a paint night here, and it's a good venue. There is lots of space, on two levels, for both regular sized and large parties. They have friendly staff and a large menu. Parking is mediocre - they do have a private lot, but it's not very big. Walked right in past a dessert case that was full of tasty looking options, and upstairs to additional seating. The drinks menu either wasn't clear or I only got part of it. They showed me the beer menu, but not cocktails, so I chose a canned hop water. There were no varieties shown on the menu, so I had to guess. I ordered the salmon sliders with fries and they were OK. I'm pretty sure the salmon was canned, they were kind of fishy and dry. Not bad, but not great either. I enjoyed the fries, portion sizes were good, and I really liked the side of red cabbage "slaw". I'm pretty sure it had cinnamon in it for an interesting savory twist.
Aside from waiting 1.5 hours for our food with a reservation, it was fabulous! The food reviews from all 9 of us has 5 stars. Our waitress was outstanding! Always a smile and spot on with who got what. I would strongly recommend but maybe without children. The ambience was really nice but don't plan on doing much cross table talking - it's loud.
I've been wanting to try this place for two or three years and I'm so obsessed! So first I don't think this place gets the love deserves ratings wise on untapped or yelp what the heck! I had a flight with four delicious beers, and our sweet waitress even brought us tasters of two of the other beers. We did not get in our flights. I used to work at a restaurant in Pittsburgh that did Oktoberfest and a lot of their menu reminds me so much of that. I literally ordered a side of mushroom gravy, just to eat after we tried the poutine which by the way during the week they have happy hour! The brisket poutine was so hearty, flavorful, a really equal distribution of portion between fries and toppings, I could go on and on. I ate the beet salad. All their salads seem so good and I wanted something a little lighter after the poutine to go with the beers but when I go back, I definitely wanna try the schnitzel and if they have the Reuben pierogies again the Reuben pierogies. We got the bread pudding for dessert and with my Eastern European blood I loved it, it was so rich and filling. The tile in the interior is very pretty, we sat outside on the gorgeous patio. Nice and secluded with a good breeze. LOVE LOVE LOVE
Went with a group of friends for lunch, had the special, cheese panini and it very good - amazing cheese pull!

I have been here several times, lunches, dinners, and holiday party. It never disappoints. The food is amazing. The portions are generous. I'm not a beer person but my husband always seems to find a new favorite. Personal favorites include schnitzel, spatzle, brisket poutine, brussel sprout Caesar salad, and shrimp and grits. Their menu has such variety, I can't think I one thing I wouldn't get again! If you haven't tried it, GO NOW! if you haven't been in a while GO NOW! The only drawback (which proves their success) is a possible wait in the evenings. The staff is so efficient and seem to try their best to accommodate every person/party that walks in the door. My partner and I love Das Schnitzel Haus so we wanted to check out their brewery. We were so happy with the experience. Starting off, I got myself sausage and kraut soup. They were so good. The krauts had this crunchiness and you could tell they made them fresh there. For entrees, I got myself schweinshaxe and my partner got pork schnitzel. The schweinshaxe was a huge pork shank with krauts. The pork shank was so slow cooked so it was super tender and flavorful. It was so good. I wished they added a bit more krauts to it. I couldn't finish it at all cause it was just so much. There was bread pudding to the dish. I guessed because of the savory and sourness of the krauts and pork shank. They needed to add some sweetness by introducing bread pudding. The bread pudding was very yummy. My partner enjoyed his pork schnitzel. He said Das Schnitzel Haus made it better but this came in a very close second. Overall, we love their menu since they offer something different. The menu would be perfect if they have potato pancakes. read more
What a find! We loved this brewery. We don't live in the area and visited as part of the Cleveland Brewery passport. It was such a cute brewery. The beer was great. We even purchased cans to take home. The staff were so friendly! They food was very good. They have a mug club and by the looks of it there are lots of members. If we lived closer I would definitely join. Looking around the room there appeared to be many regulars. If we venture that way again we will go in the summer to sit on the patio. read more

Incredible. This is about my 4th or 5th visit to the brewery. Today was Firkin Friday and they just launched a small batch of Peace Summer Ale. Not what I expected. Extremely light, almost a cider. Smells great. Taste is very refreshing. The other beers I have ( Blueberry, Peanut Butter Porter) were very delicious. I have not had a bad beer in all the times I've been there. The summer menu dropped recently and also a Lenten menu. I ordered the Bavarian pretzel and the Fish Fry. The Pretzel is enormous and comes with great beer cheese. The fish fry was unreal. 3 nice pieces of fish, crispy French fries and coleslaw. The coleslaw was a horseradish base and that's not my cup of tea however my wife said she enjoyed it. For $17 it was good. It filled me up. Will definitely be back again. Highly recommend to brewery to anyone. German based menu and huge serving size. 9 out of 10. read more
I came in for Pierogi week. Was completely satisfied. Sat at the bar. Jim was great very helpful, helped me with ordering, like you can get your pierogi "Drunken", In which they pour gravy with bacon over your pierogis, I order both sets, cheddar/potatoes & Sauerkraut/ potatoes. Go drunken every time. I also ordered a side of Schnitzel with the gravy and Cole slaw as a side as well. It was all very good. I even bought a gift card so I could go back. The place is very spacious and clean. I bet in the summer months it's a great spot, with the outside seating. It is a brew Haus, but I was there to eat. There were a couple things I really wanted to order, but I just ordered 2 sets of pierogi and I didn't even eat all of those. All and all I was really impressed, lots of Bavarian plates, they have a Pretzel on the Appetizer menus that I will definitely get when I go back. read more
A stop for us on our Pierogi Week quest. First time here. Upbeat venue. Upstairs was very inviting and great for a group event. Service was a bit slow. We waited quite a bit for our drinks then 30 minutes later we were told they were out of the pierogis we ordered and needed to substitute. We did sub but disappointed. My family met here for dinner this Sunday. We got a large table near the host stand and brewery area. Tried a flight of their beers...everything was really good and I decided to get a glass of Peanut Butter Dark Ale afterwards as I enjoyed it so much. We got two giant pretzels to share as a table as well. For dinner, I ordered the Smoked Rueben, other dinners around the table were the Hot Honey Schnitzel sandwich, Schnitzel with mushroom sauce, Shrimp and Grits, Sweet Potato Pierogis, and Smash Burger. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. We ended with two different desserts, the peanut butter cake and cookie dough cake. Both very good. Our server was friendly and attentive. We will be back! Now it will be a toss up between here and their location across the street, Das Schnitzel Haus as they are both recommended! read more

We love Schnitz Ale Brewery! Our only complaint is that it isn't closer to our house! Creative beers, with something for everyone on the draft list. Food is always delicious-- great appetizers, burgers, and sandwiches. Love that we can take home a few cans of our favorite beers with us. read more
This is a very cute, modern brewery with a nice patio area. The patio was dog friendly The food is very good. I had the meatloaf dinner, that was not on the menu. It was one of their specials. Our server was awesome and checked on us often. I recommend checking it out. read more

Already planned our return trip while sitting at the table! What a great experience at Schnitz Ale Brewery! The ambience is very reminiscent of a traditional brewery; it was comforting and clean, much appreciated! Lunch service was great! There appeared to only be one waiter but he ensured every table had attention, it never felt lacking. The food was GREAT! The menu is perfect for people who are already fans of German food and those who may be more hesitant to the flavors. I got the Buffalo Schnitz Salad, it was fresh and flavorful. The other people I was with got the more classic offerings as pork schnitzel and meatballs. Portion size was huge, everything was good! We will definitely be back read more

This locally owned pub has ethnic food with a bougie twist to it. I've eaten here twice now and both times were exceptional. The in-house brewed beer is delicious. I recommend the oatmeal stout. This place is always hopping. read more
05/31/2023 The beer brewed here leaves a lot to be desired. The first time I had a lager and it was not good, the second time I asked for a Dunkel like Hofbrau House, and it had a coffee taste. The food was good, although the brisket sandwich was tough, but the Shrimp and Grits were the best I've ever had. The server was gracious and accommodating. The main attraction here is the decor and food. read more

I have reviewed Schnitzel Ale previously. And as much as I loved it before, I believe they have upped their game! My hubby and I stopped by for lunch. They are always welcoming. My husband loves their beer. He tried a new one, Hop This Way and loved it enough to take a 6 pack home. Food wise, I ordered the Smoked Rueben and my guy got the Salmon Sliders. Service was super quick. Both dishes were delicious!!!! The fries were particularly yummy....very hot and crispy. If you haven't gotten to Schnitzel Ale, definitely take the trip. They are more than worth it!!! read more

Packed house, menu full of flavor with great service. It had been a few years since we were had dinner here and I must say it was a good choice. We had a party of 6 during the height of lent. It was packed, but service was prompt and the kitchen never skipped a beat. Appetizers, soups and salad with a mix of lent specials for our table. I started with the garlic soup and it was full of flavor and delicious. I would order it every time. Great local restaurant. read more
