I was in town after losing a family member and we stopped in for a late lunch. We just happened to be looking for a venue to have a memorial lunch with friends and family, and after having some of the food (great Reuben... the beer helped as well) we saw the space upstairs and realized it would be perfect to host about 100 loved ones. Carly and her team were amazing to coordinate with, very professional and conscientious to what the family was going through. The food was great (schnitzel, pierogies, etc), the staff and service was impeccable throughout, and the venue was perfect to have a gathering. Next time I'm back in town I will happily be back!

The krauts had this crunchiness and you could tell they made them fresh there. For entrees, I got myself schweinshaxe and my partner got pork schnitzel. The schweinshaxe was a huge pork shank with krauts. The pork shank was so slow cooked so it was super tender and flavorful. It was so good. I wished they added a bit more krauts to it. I couldn't finish it at all cause it was just so much. There was bread pudding to the dish. I guessed because of the savory and sourness of the krauts and pork shank. They needed to add some sweetness by introducing bread pudding. The bread pudding was very yummy. My partner enjoyed his pork schnitzel. He said Das Schnitzel Haus made it better but this came in a very close second. Overall, we love their menu since they offer something different. The menu would be perfect if they have potato pancakes.

For my 900th Yelp review, the honour goes to Two Friends Brewing!…read more I first visited for a private Yelp event on Thursday, November 13th 2025 then I came again for my friend's (Leslie) husband's 40th birthday party on Saturday, January 10th 2026. The private birthday party was in their back room. This bar appears to be a favourite amongst locals. Service has always been attentive and friendly the both times that I've been here. FOOD/DRINKS -- I don't drink alcohol but they have a lot of options to offer such as beer (obviously) and I think wine too. The food appears to be standard/average from what I've seen. For my friend's husband birthday party in January 2026, we had pizza which I believe was from another business so it's nice that this establishment allows you to order your own food for a private party. I ordered a sparkling water during my first visit which came in a can. I actually don't like sparking water that much but I had limited options for drinks since I don't drink alcohol and I didn't want a sugary drink. GAMES -- The back room has games to play which is fun. They have pool, football (called "foosball" I think), etc. For both times that I visited, I tried a game called Skee ball game where you throw a ball and try to land it on different levels and each level has points that you can earn. If you like beer and a good atmosphere, then give Two Friends Brewing a visit. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 59/250 total reviews in 2026 - 900 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 30 April 2026

In a thoughtful way, this ended up being a favorite brewery of the whole trip because of their immediately apparent focus on African grains, traditions, and adjuncts. The names also reflected these traditions, and I wanted to know more. Born in "Frog Town" (Toledo), it started as a passion project that immediately gained attention. As proudly stated, they're a Black-owned brewery and has also gotten recognized for diversity in the beer industry. I'd love to visit their main location someday soon! The bartender was friendly, and very patient with us as we were the first customers of the day. I saw words and ingredients I've only occasionally seen at other breweries so I immediately ordered those for my flight. It was fun to see how they used the ingredients, all the beers were delicious and we loved the bright open seating space. Prices were reasonable, parking was easy right outside. If you're a fan of breweries with a unique signature and great story, this is one not to miss.
