The decaf coffee was just okay, and the hot chocolate was extremely sweet--maybe too sweet for some tastes. Both whip cream and oat milk are extras, so expect an upcharge. Overall, Ciel Coffee is a decent study spot with good ambience, but the drinks are middle of the road. Highlights - Atmosphere is casual and ideal for studying or working. Most patrons seem to be students on laptops. - Drink choices are standard; decaf coffee was average, hot chocolate very sweet. - Whip cream and oat milk cost extra. - Friendly staff and clean café. - Good for relaxing or meeting friends, less so for gourmet coffee lovers. If your main priority is finding a good place for work or study, Ciel Coffee delivers. If you're after exceptional drinks, it comes up a bit short.

I just think that's probably a necessity any cafe or restaurant should have all the time. The cafe itself is nice, and there's a lot of seating in the cafe but a little bit of an odd visit because of the washroom situation. I think it would also be good if they had some stevia or honey available for sweetener.

I tried two sandwiches: the Haida Hot, rated 4/5 and priced at $17.99, and the Haida Royal, rated 3/5 at $21.99. I also ordered a small pizza, the Haida Pizza, which was rated 3/5 and costs $16.99. Both sandwiches were good; the bread was crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. They were a decent size and made neatly, the addition of hickory stick chips inside the sandwiches is a interesting touch. The pizza was okay, but for its small size, it would be best suited for a child to eat on their own. The size reminded me of the pizza that McDonald's used to offer, and at $17, I found it a bit steep. Overall, the service was good. The staff recommended the most popular items, which was helpful since it was my first visit to Haida. However, I do think the prices are a bit high for what you get.
