I was always interested in visiting the Paper Source, so I decided to go for the first time today and I was NOT impressed. Despite the BEAUTIFUL and WIDE ASSORTMENT of gifts and trinkets (which I loved), I walked in and was immediately profiled by an older white woman working at the store; I went straight to the wall of cards (that's all I wanted to pick up) and she came right up behind me to "fix a display" and stood there almost the entire time I was looking for a card. When I picked out my items, I went to the other side of the store to browse, where again she immediately came up and made a poor attempt at "loss prevention" by asking how many cards I was purchasing, and that if I were getting more I'd get a discount. I appreciated the offer but the WAY that she spoke to me, coupled with not keeping a respectable distance the entire fifteen minutes I spent in the store really rubbed me the wrong way. I wish I had gotten her name but I felt extremely disrespected and so shocked that I just quickly purchased my items and left. I hope that future customers do not share this experience, because it is ironic that a store filled with mugs of neoliberal politicians treats their customers of color so poorly. read more

This place is a hidden gem if I'd say the least, I had a pretty pricey gift to give way back around xmas time, I dropped it off here, an hour and $14.00 they had it wrapped up so incredibly well. Ah, Paper Source. You take my time and my money and I'm still in love. Seriously, I lose track of time when I'm in this store. They have a wall dedicated to stationary such as Thank You cards, etc. They have shelves & tables with nick-knacks (anything from any kind of Calendar you could ever want to cute party tricks and toys). As is customary of Paper Source stores they have a great selection of cards, stamps, and stationary. The parking lot is easy access, most of the mess is people heading to TJ's or Mendocino Farms. Don't forget to have your ticket validated! The staff is very attentive, but not pushy. Overall, I'm very happy they opened in this location - although my wallet may beg to differ. read more

The service is personalized ... the selection is FANTASTIC. It is pretty pricey, but if you have a high-ticket item that you giving as a present to someone special, it is worth wrapping it so it shows its value ... It is all about presentation and at Paper Source, the SKY IS THE LIMIT. The only constructive criticism I can off them is that they need a much better selection of Birthday Cards. Not enough variety. I cannot even with how sweet this staff is. Of course the quality of their merchandise brought me in at first, but the service always brings us back. My husband and I frequent this location with our black lab, Morris, and each and every time we bring him in, we are always met with such kindness and even treats for our sweet puppo! I went here to see all the creative things they have.. and landed up making a card of own . Their creative counter was so cute where I could choose the color of my card.. the decorations.. different kind of stickers , hot stamps.. I felt like a 6 year old all over again ! This adorable stationery store is in my favorite mini mall on 3rd & Fairfax; right after I shop at Trader Joe's and get my iced green tea at Peet's, I'm drawn to the colorful window displays at Paper Source. Often I just window shop, but lately I'm tempted to drop in and shop, as was the case the other day. Especially tempting was to use a new customer coupon on any item in the store (and believe me, the options are endless!) They have a variety of products, from note pads and paper of every color imaginable, to a great selection currently of creative Mother's Day and Father's Day gifts. About a month ago, I bought peach note cards with matching envelopes; a floral pastel floor or table runner; and a most comfy pillow. The choices include much more than only paper stationery items! This last time, I indulged in a delightful abstract pouch you can use to store jewelry, office supplies, medication, whatever you wish. The design looked like a Jackson Polkack original! Not to mention, the sales staff are all extremely helpful, polite and considerate as well as knowledgeable of store inventory. The manager, Andrew, was a standout, in customer service. This is my go-to store for wrapping paper and cards for any special occasion. They are a bit pricier than your average store, but they do have really cool stuff. Like last time, I wrapped my bf's birthday gift with their superhero comic wrapping paper. He obviously loved the wrapping paper. His gift? Not so much that spoiled brat. I'm so glad that this paper source opened up because it is very convenient for me. On top of that, the staff is SO friendly. They are very knowledgeable about the products and one lady even offered to show me how to use some of the supplies I was purchasing and I didn't even ask her to. Ive probably encountered about 4 different employees now and all of them are so helpful. We had 7 gifts for members of our wedding party that needed to be wrapped ASAP since the wedding was less than 48 hours away. I brought them all into Paper Source at 1 pm. I love this location! I don't often have the need to buy craft materials, but when I do, I always come here. Their paper selection is fantastic, and the staff at this branch are so helpful and nice.
