I love Paper Source. It's a wonderful store filled with cards for every occasion, beautiful stationary, gorgeous gift bags and paper, and zany gifts. When I want to impress someone with a card or a thank you note, I come here. The staff at Paper Source is equally amazing. Always cheerful and always helpful, the ladies of Paper Source are a delight to talk to when looking for the perfect gift/card for a friend. I don't know if I can add anything else, fellow Yelper. If you are looking for pretty wrapping paper, gift bags, bows, cards, stationary, etc. you've come to the right place! You may pay a little more than other craft stores...but the things you find here are more unique looking, and higher quality than you may find elsewhere. The staff is very friendly and willing to help you piece together your personal crafty creation. Also a great place for stocking stuffers/small gifts! I came in here many times as I was planning my wedding to get inspiration, paper, ribbon, and other products to create my own programs and gift bags for wedding party gifts. I am a writer by nature. Anything to do with pen & paper and I'm signed up, with shined shoes and bells. Sometimes whistles if I'm feeling dandy... I was pleased to see a location in Houston. Who cares if its a chain? Use their paper for stationary, crafts, wrapping paper, drawer liners or frame it, hang it up on a wall and call it art. Its that versatile and pretty to do all of it. The staff was open and willing to help when they weren't helping others. They also keep a good supply of quirky gifts, all relating to writing or paper, of course. Check out their creativity classes. I love this store! So much prettyness in one place! Their wrapping paper is so beautiful, that you could just frame it and use it as artwork in your house. I am not even kidding. I have contemplated doing that myself. I love all the types of stationary they carry and the ridiculous amount of stamps and embossers and glitter the store has!! Also, the store gets bonus points for location. RIGHT NEXT TO SPRINKLES!!!! aaaand right in front of ANTHROPOLOGIE! What more can a girl wish for? Their staff is sweet and knows their products. If I weren't so mad for pretty paper goods, Paper Source would get a four. Oh, what the hell. I don't need to justify myself. Paper Source fills that black hole in my heart that can't stand romance movies. What better way to say, "Hey, I may be a smartass that likes to make filthy jokes, but I am a classy broad at heart. Look at the heft behind this note I'm sending you. And the pretty whatever-you-call-it--let's not get technical--that lines the envelopes! Feel it and weep, because it makes me want to weep!" Yes, fine stationery makes my heart go pitter patter. Any man who understands that has the letter opener to my heart (okay, scratch that analogy--no murderers, gracias). I had driven by Paper Source a few times, but never given it much thought, thinking it was derivative of Papyrus, that cutesy store with some variety of flimsy stationery. I've been lusting for a stationery store with those solid envelopes, and, in my hunt for Sprinkles, I wound up walking through Paper Source. There's a wall of all manner of cards (no grocery store variety cards, phew), a section devoted to stamps (for your stationery), another with all manner of gift wrap paper, a display for gift books (e.g. Porn for Mothers, with images of guys saying things like, "Every time I see a cute co-ed, I think, 'Potential babysitter!' "), and another area with different colors and sizes of envelopes and cards. I had two realizations: one, that I had visited Paper Source in Bellevue, WA, hence the familiarity; two, that I could make all these pretty cards I grab like the opposite of a hot potato whenever I see them on sale. Crane & Co. and Bell'Invito--prepare to see my creative side! Er, when I have the time. If you're working on invites for a wedding or other special occasion, you can work on them with one of the salespeople. The cool thing is that they have workshops, some to make holiday cards, or French...um, wall organizer things. You could make it a girls' night or date. hahaha. Totally kidding about the date thing. When I use up my stock of correspondence cards, Christmas cards, thank you cards, and birthday cards (manners never hurt anyone, and, yes, I do stock up on birthday cards--the secretly organized side of me likes knowing I have the right card for each person months in advance), I am so back, like Britney Spears. Except without the crotch shots, hair weaves, and pole dance routine. read more

Crafters beware: this is one of the most dangerous stores in the entire city! It's unassuming and almost hidden in Highland Village, standing in stark contrast to the Apple store nearby. Get your wallet ready, because I challenge to come out of this store without buying something, if not for yourself then for a friend. Yes, they sell pretty much everything that's made of paper: cards, wrapping paper, custom invitations, stationery, labels, etc. etc. But they also lots of super fun and unique gifts, nick knacks, office supplies, and rubber stamps. And AND they have classes and demos! It's just one of those stores that makes you happy to actually spend money there, seriously. Never encountered a rude sales associate at this location. Selection is always great. Easily could drop $100 on pens alone. It's a little hard to reason paying upwards of six bucks for a single birthday card, but most of them are created by much smaller businesses (many of which put profits toward charitable donations!) I was looking for Thanksgiving cards online and didn't realize how hard they are to find! There are Christmas and New Year's cards everywhere you look but for a good Thanksgiving card you basically have turkeys and fall leaves. Then I found Paper Source. I fell in love with their "I'm grateful for" cards. The sales associate was really helpful and by the time I left, I had Christmas cards, New Year's cards, and a lone birthday card. I love the quirkiness and the class of the cards offered here. There is literally something for everyone. I think my first trip into the store has made me into a card person. Aaaah, then ooooooh, then ahhhh. If you like paper & stationery this is that little bit o heaven right in the heart of Highland Village, the shop has a huge variety of colors of papers for all stationery and printing needs, they have an area to pick customized stationery as well and a great section for scrapbookers/card makers as well. The store has demonstrations and workshops so you can find new and great ways to play with your paper, they have beautiful papers to line your envelopes with as well, not to mention a nice selection of gifts for anyone you think is worthy of just more than a passing thought, (ahem-me?!). Because of construction in the area, this is not easily accessible for anyone who has any trouble walking, plus -because it's Highland Village, the parking is challenging, but the reward is a great shop with friendly staff and a cupcake shop right next door! read more

Been wanting to come to Paper Source as I heard they do workshops. Well, it was love at first sight when I came in. *FYI- they are right across Lululemon/Lucky Jeans and right beside Sprinkles* They have all sorts of stuff--such cute tongue-in-cheek cards, but thoughtful ones, too. They also have cute gift items like nesting doll measuring cups, luchador "thumb wrestlers," calendars, and more. I came in on a lark and left with knowledge, items, and a vow to come back. And come back I did. I have since embossed (and learned from them--ask them, it's so easy!), bought stamps to use for embossing and fun, and various accessories. Their stuff is pricey, so I really need to watch myself! I see it as knowledge, though, so it's not so bad :) The staff are extremely nice and helpful, too, which helps me spend money a bit easier, oops! They offer workshops like bookbinding (and they have the materials, of course), rubber stamping, and so on. My schedule just won't jive with theirs, but hopefully I will do a workshop someday. Love it. You wouldn't know it, but there are city people who want to be crafty. This is a real gem for us to not have to take our business outside of the beltway! Love that they have so much cool stuff to make your own cards, take classes, etc or make other cute things. This is also my new stop for all little gifts...birthdays, teachers, etc. So many funny, unique gifts that you could easily just browse the tiny store for hours. There's so much more than just paper! Well, first, the stationary is awesome! I went in to get Thank You cards as I am doing some job interviewing right now. Awesome quality, totally awesome designs. We happened upon this store when we were visiting Sprinkles next door for a sugar fix. What a glorious find! This store has some truly unique cards, stationary, and gifts to choose from. Unfortunately, like many higher end stationary stores, the price tag is a little more than I choose to drop. It takes serious self control to leave the store with only one or two items but on a teacher's salary it is a necessity. If you are looking for unique stationary or beautiful paper for a decorating/art project, I do recommend this store. Great quality, helpful staff, and a unique collection. read more

They were totally different that what I expected but I still dropped $40 on paper alone on my first visit. They have a lot of kitschy items, and materials to make almost anything out of paper you want. I ended up buying stickers, macaron stationery, a giant madlibs book, and a few cards that were interesting. This seems like a very cool store. I always forget about it (as I don't shop the Highland Village area much due to traffic congestion), but I am putting it on my radar screen. We had gone to the Apple store to have some iPhone repair and it was going to be two hours until they could help us, so we went shopping. Stopped in this store to see if they sold fun cocktail napkins. They did not have much selection, but we did buy two packs that were cute. I want to come back and just cruise the store to see all of the things they have, because they do have a lot of stuff. Seems like a nice store to find a gift for someone. read more

Recently I bought a Martha Stuart tissue paper fringe tool from here to make paper fringe garland. This tool only worked on very thick paper which limited the design of my garland - I ended up using scissors for the project and didn't even need the tool. When I tried returning it I explained the situation and they seemed annoyed and inconvenienced that I was trying to make a return. They refused to give me a cash refund because the product had been opened, but instead gave me a store credit (I had all of the packaging and the receipt). Their negative attitude combined with the inconvenience of not getting a cash refund after selling a product that does not work is what leads me to give 1 star. Hopefully other Paper Source locations have better customer service. read more
