Today I decided to check this place out since I had some extra time. Iris Gifts is very much a boutique store. I was immediately greeted with a smile. I told the store associate I was just looking and we left it at that. I love not being bothered, so I am completely fine after the initial greeting/offer of help until I ask for help later. They have all the cute and festive items for the seasons, adorable clothes for children, fun jewelry, amazing candles and more! I enjoy browsing stores like this when I have some free time to get ideas for later when birthdays and/or special occasions arise. In this area of town, you will find several boutique shops, but this one is very convenient and there is plenty of parking available. Some of my favorite items are the El Arroyo collection, the fun cocktail napkins and the decorative styrofoam cups. On the higher end, they sell beautiful, lovely smelling candles (one brand in particular is $115.00 - I don't know anything about the brand, so I can't give feedback on the price - maybe it lights itself - Lol), pretty costume jewelry, home decor pieces and alluring bath items that function as both decorative and useful. I was surprised to see the reviews are not higher for this shop. It's cute, it's friendly and it is full! What's not to love?!

I can't say enough wonderful things about Executive Baskets! Their service is absolutely amazing,…read moreand they went above and beyond my expectations from start to finish. I first discovered their seasonal shop in the Downtown Houston Tunnel System a few weeks ago and couldn't wait for an opportunity to try them out. When a colleague needed a Get-Well gift, Executive Baskets immediately came to mind. I did my due diligence and compared options, but since the delivery was local, I wanted to support a local business--and I'm so glad I did. Not only was the delivery fee minimal compared to other places I looked into, but the overall value of what I received was far beyond what I expected. Their website had plenty of beautiful choices, but I wanted something a bit more personalized. A quick call to the store made the entire process incredibly simple. I picked the basket I liked, shared a few notes about what I wanted added and adjusted, and then emailed to ask if they could send me a photo of the final product before delivery. Not only did they deliver on the customization flawlessly, but they also sent the photo promptly. This allowed me to share it with my team so everyone could see exactly what we were sending to our colleague. The basket turned out perfect, and the whole experience was smooth, friendly, and thoughtful. Overall, I'll definitely be using Executive Baskets again. If you want to save money, share happiness, and get exceptional value and service, they're the place to go. I'm already looking forward to the next opportunity to send another one of their beautiful creations. Their work truly spreads joy. Thank you, Executive Baskets, for coming through for me!

Threadfare is an adorable kids boutique that's currently located in an awkward, temporary building but will soon be moving to the new shopping center on 34th near Oak Forest. Don't let the outside fool you, though- there's TONS of cute and affordable clothing, accessories, and toys for your kids packed inside. I came by looking for stocking stuffers for my kiddos, 2 years old and 7 months old. I had NO clue what I wanted, so I was just browsing hoping to spot something small and cute. The store had so many perfect gifts that I had a hard time narrowing down what I was going to buy! They carry some great kid brands you're probably familiar with, like MudPie and Magnetic Me, and some others that I haven't heard of before but are ah-DOR-able! I loved that when I came they had a big sale going on, with most clothing items 20-40% off. Score! I ended up getting my 7month old some magnetic-close jammies, and my 2-year old the cutest hair clips and kid-safe nail polish, both of which were a huge hit and she hasn't gone a day without one (or all) of her hair clips yet. Threadfare made it easy for me to find the perfect gifts for my kids at a great price!

If there isn't anyone proximal, they'll find the expert for that area, lickety split. This place covers the whole gambit of items your needing be it hardware, outdoor living, kitchen, party and paper, baby & kid's items. The list goes on. I particularly shop in the lighting and cleaning section, but I enjoy the coffee and chocolates. They have a few roast choices of what they put out for their daily coffee and allows me some time to chit chat with either the people there or the service attendant. Prices are a bit higher, but you get quick and quality service. I've read some of the other lower rated reviews and it seem many folks have a high sense of fragility over stupid sh..t! She keeps the store stocked with great products, and has awesome recommendations for gift ideas. She has hired some of the nicest girls I've ever experienced in customer service to help her out. She has an employee, Abbey, who is almost always working in store. She is very helpful - she'll help find clothes to match your style, recommend gift ideas, and even model the clothes if you keep uncomfortable trying things on. There are individual sections for kids and adults, whether you're looking for baby gifts, toddler toys, plushies, or fancy home decor, greeting cards and stationary, or 3D puzzles. The variety is definitely not lacking, however it is more expensive than the typical gift boutique, but in my opinion worth the price tag. The store is an entire experience with complimentary gift wrap if you please at the end, plus margaritas to sip on while you browse. I was happy with all the purchases I made and will continue to shop at Kuhl-Linscomb for upscale and luxurious goods.
