The selection is top notch, pricing is on par with anywhere else. Going here is like having a pen show available to you anytime. You can ask to see , hold and feel pretty much any pen. So far I have bought about 5 high end pens from them, but lots of inks, lots of paper, some low end pens etc. And here's what sparked this. They know how to take care of their local and loyal customers. They recently had a limited-edition watch that was exclusive to them. Highly sought after. I missed the purchase window, and then they set up a lottery to sell some additional pisses at DC pen show, didn't get to go... so my opportunity for this pen was all but gone! I asked Larry if I could buy a broken version of this pen, (they have one with the cap broken).. Well Larry went to the back and brought me a new pen! I now own one of the 200 pens ever made! I am extremely grateful and feel blessed to have this institution in town!

Here goes the detailed version! I was looking for some classy-looking thank you cards. I went to several stationary shops nearby : Anvil Cards, The Space Montrose, H.E.B (yes not a stationary shop but they sell cards), Whole Earth (somehow I was hoping this outdoors gear shop would sell cards), Trader Joes, and even B&N. Sadly they all failed me. Don't get me wrong, these are all fantastic shops for unique and hilarious cards (especially Anvil and The Space Montrose). They just don't sell what I was looking for. So I stumbled upon this shop and my oh my they swept me off my feet! For you drivers out there, they have PLENTY parking spaces for tiny cars and SUVs! First when I walked in, I was greeted by a lovely elder lady (sadly I didn't get her name) who asked me what I was looking for and immediately went to look for them. She obviously knew what she was doing, she zoomed from one corner to another and pulled out several cards for me. Then suddenly I heard little happy taps and low and behold they have a little lap dog with a red sweater named CeCe!!! CeCe will make sure to sniff your shoes and greet you as you walk in. The best greeter in town if you ask me. I proceeded to look around on my own because I like to explore. The ladies in store were very thoughtful and knew that so they let me roam. If you are looking for high quality cards, this is the place! They have 100% cotton cards, Downton Abbey stationary sets, embossed and debossed cards, quill cards, leather notebooks, etc. Also this would be a good place to get cards for your wedding or baby showers. I heard they also do personalized Christmas cards. Now if you are hoping to get a good bang for your bucks, this will not be the place. Before this store I got a pack of 50 average-quality cards for $10 on Amazon. Here, $10 would get you 3-5 cards. But you do get what you pay for since they are very nice paper and feel amazing when you write (especially with a fountain pen). I took photos of the 2 boxes that I bought. Both are very very pretty and I'm very happy with them. Also, they take Apple Pay!!!

Prices are a bit higher, but you get quick and quality service. I've read some of the other lower rated reviews and it seem many folks have a high sense of fragility over stupid sh..t! The colorful wall of cookbooks is such a delight. To be fair, I visited today in hopes of finding a spicy salsas & moles cookbook, which I found on their website. But it was nowhere to be found within the brick and mortar shoppe. Alas, we settled for the savory potato book. The autumnal kitchen aprons piqued my attention and I may revisit pretty soon. Everything is becoming gold and orange within the shoppe. The large green parrot at the shoppe is quite amusing and adorable. We love interacting with him. It's always fun to visit Bering's, they have something for everyone. They often have deals as well, talk about sweet! Oh and don't forget the coffee and chocolates. They have handmade chocolates, biscotti and local coffee. The culinary equipment here is quite nice, whether you're looking for a new teapot, knife set or mugs, bowls. They often have food sample displays during the weekend as well, in particular, Saturday morning. Come check it out!

CONSUMER BEWARE I…read moreused Postal Zone to occasionally forward packages to an out of state address. I signed up for Postal Zone's mail forwarding services via AnytimeMailbox.com. Apparently certain employees at the Postal Zone do not know how to use the mail forwarding software because they make mistakes and they put a CRAZY profit markup on simple mail forwarding services. On my end, I am asked if there are any special directions that I want Postal Zone to take note of. I notated my account to reflect that ALL packages are to be mailed via USPS Priority Mail. They did this correctly the first time, but then it was downhill from there. My most recent package was forwarded via USPS Ground...which takes a very long time for me to receive. I tried calling Postal Zone, after my 3rd call...someone finally answered. I pointed out their error, but they would not admit mistake and claimed that their software doesn't have my Priority Mail notes on they end. I pointed out that they had been following my notes and forwarding packages via Priority Mail, but the guy I spoke to would not even acknowledge this statement (despited there is a digital log on my previous shipment from them). Even the mail forwarding software company, AnytimeMailbox.com, got involved and called them to show them how to view my notes (they could see them too), but the Postal Zone employee told the software people that they were wrong and there are no notes. And.. Businesses like Postal Zone get discounted shipping rates, they don't pay retail. However, the Postal Zone more than doubles the retail cost of shipping for USPS Priority Mail (keep in mind that the USPS provides the envelopes for free). The literally put my package into a USPS flat rate envelope (less than 2 minutes to do). In summary, they may have good in-person customer service, but I would not use them for mail forwarding.

You're heavily encouraged to use the lounge area right next to where the line starts to fill out your forms ahead of time and you will be charged for extra tape. Be sure to note the lunch break and 4 PM closing time as the USPS website will give you a generic 10AM-5PM. For being a one-man team, this spot does a good job. I got there right at 11:30 and shortly thereafter a line of 5 people built up so try to come early or right after his lunch break is over.
