    Happy hour !

When in Deerfield this is one of my favorite spots. From the service which is always so attentive , to the casual sea food shack ambience but the real star is always the food. We went on a Wednesday which is 1/2 off wines luckily and just wanted some good sushi and chowder. The clam chowder was excellent (first time I tried it). And we shared a few rolls. All the roll recommendations were excellent and we left before dessert. But I will be back for the Key lime Pie and deep fried snapper.

We had a wonderful dining experience from start to finish. The food arrived quickly, and our server provided excellent service throughout the meal. Everything we ordered was delicious--the smoked fish dip was especially flavorful, and the sushi roll did not disappoint. I chose the tilefish lemon pepper sandwich, which was also outstanding. I would definitely recommend this spot and look forward to returning!

sat at the bar unfortunately there was no bartender tonight on a very busy Wednesday night very poor service! Not to mention the door going into to right side of the restaurant slams every millisecond! fish and chips were good... wine down

Awesome place for fresh seafood. Had the red dragon roll which was absolutely delicious as well as the fish dip. My wife had a poke bowl, with brown rice which she really liked. Real casual vibe almost makes you feel like you're sitting in a little waterfront place in New England. Service was a really good stayed on top of things.

Loved this place! This is a fresh fish market in Lightpoint - I've never been here before but I'd certainly go back. We started our meal with drinks and fried wantons with queso - - -wow - - I've never had that combination but it's a winner! The queso was so good I literally licked the bowl (sort of). Next we ordered dinner - my friend had the snow crab legs - 40.00/pound - she loved them. I had the steamed clams - loved them - they were really quite flavorful and dunking the roll in the juice was a fabulous way to end the meal. There is valet parking, music in the evening, outdoor seating (as well as indoor) and a great bar. If you live near Lightpoint and haven't been here - you should go right now!

Ok I LOVED Papa's Raw Bar I went on a Friday night and there was great live music playing - even though this spot is on Federal and we sat outside, I felt like I was at a beach bar! The sushi was fresh tasting, and the different types of rolls were very unique and flavorful. Servers were very friendly and attentive, I can't wait to come back to the spot. It may be a new favorite of mine!

5/10/25 Great sushi, so many choices. Everything is very fresh. Very casual atmosphere. Terrific service. The queen bee roll, spicy tuna, zack attack are all favorite sushi rolls. Highly recommend the fresh fish tacos, and white clam chowder.

Papa's has great cocktails and sushi! We started with the Whiskey Smash and the Ship Wrecked, which is their take on an Old Fashioned. Both were balanced well & paired with proper ice--chewblet for the Smash and a large cube for the Ship. For food we ordered the Cracked Conch and the Wet Dream Roll. The conch was fresh with the perfect amount batter. The Wet Dream Roll had tempura Wahoo with seared scallops on top. We loved both of them. Overall a great experience, but one critique was the happy hour that ended at 6, before our arrival.

The server Sam was very helpful and knowledgeable, the food was amazing, and the place has a good atmosphere Ample portion sizes. Dived into main course and didn't get pictures after sushi, lol Worth the visit!!

This place is incredible! Truly blown away for a restaurant in a shopping plaza. First off, the ambience has such a fun and beachy, local feel. We went on a Friday night and the live music was enjoyable. Not too loud! I mostly got sushi. Everything was delicious. I love places that have good chunks of fish and no fillers like cream cheese. You can tell that the ingredients were fresh and they had a bunch of wahoo on the menu, which is such a plus for me. And to add, there's a cute fish shop attached and owned by the restaurant. Safe to say, this is my new favorite spot!

I discovered this fish market and restaurant on Instagram while craving fried snapper for several months. I jokingly think my phone eavesdrops on me because it started showing me fish restaurants. Papa Raw Bar appeared on my feed multiple times, and it also showed up on my partner's feed, who then sent it to me. We decided to check it out the next time we visited Fort Lauderdale, and we weren't disappointed. The fish was fresh and plentiful. For starters, we ordered blackened swordfish bites served with seaweed salad and spicy mayo. My only complaint was that they were a bit stingy with the seaweed salad--I guess I'm just greedy, lol. The bites were delicious, and the fish was fresh and tasty. We also shared a fried snapper, which was cooked to perfection and served with several dipping sauces. Additionally, we ordered French fries and mac and cheese, and everything was delicious. The staff was friendly, and we will definitely go back to try more items from the menu.

I hear this place is wonderful, parking is difficult, and the place is always packed. My question is what time should we get there for dinner on a Sat night if we want to eat inside in a booth or at a table and we want the least wait time? TIA.

If you go before 5:30 pm you will have no problem parking or getting a table right away After November 1, I would go at 5

It was a Saturday night around 8 and it wasn't crowded at all, which was nice. I ordered a scallop sushi, Mexican roll and salmon basil roll. The scallop sushi was so fresh, and melted in your mouth. The party I was with ended up ordering one each for themselves as well! The mexican roll was simple and enhanced with a little wasabi and ginger. Perfectly bite sized pieces. The salmon basil roll was unlike anything I've ever had before. Pretty much tasted like a caprese in sushi form! Salmon was incredibly fresh, again super tender and melted in your mouth, no fishy taste. The party I was with also ordered three pieces of uni. Was $14.50 a piece, so pretty steep! However the uni was incredibly tender, very similar to butter, however the tail end did have a slightly fishy taste, but it is sea urchin so that's not uncommon. Someone ordered the tempura udon, they said the broth was a little bland, the udon were cooked perfectly, but of course the tempura gets soggy as it's sitting on top of the udon. They also ordered the fried JB roll, the hot mama roll, and an eel and salmon hand roll. While I can't comment on those things, everybody was incredibly satisfied with their meal and everything was reasonably priced. I didn't pay for this meal, so unfortunately I can't comment on the bill, but I can say this is not a cheap sushi restaurant. The prices are a little higher than average, but you're also getting what you pay for. The quality is spot-on and is exactly what you hope for when you have a sushi craving. The service was fast and they made great recommendations. Their sushi roll selection is not huge by any means, but their menu has a lot of diverse options on it. The only thing that I can't stand, but is of course very common with Sushi and Asian restaurants, is having canned soft drinks. This is a personal preference and didn't impact my rating at all. Overall, I would definitely come back to try other things!

Small, intimate space (in the old AlleyCat location), but done right... cozy without feeling cramped. The chefs were fantastic and the fish was top tier. The uni was unforgettable. This is good value for what you pay. The place is really small and when you first walk in there is a general seating, waiting area while you wait for others to finish and then to turn over the tables. After they are ready for you they will seat you at the bar and they will serve you the food. I will agree with a lot of the other reviews. I wish it was a little more roomy. You are elbow to elbow like on a spirit flight. I think removing one seat from the bar would give a lot of room for the others. Which is kind of poor design because the waiting area is quite large compared to the bar too where everyone is served. Sushi by bou has a pre set menu so it's technically not true omakase since it means "I leave it to you," the chef. But everyone gets the same thing so it's not really different if you go again. With all of that said, the food is still great. The quality of sushi is high and the cuts are solid. Service is great because they are right in front of you so you can just ask if you need something. Seems like there are more workers than customers really. Would definitely go again if I wanted some good sushi.

Reservations are required well in advance, and there are 2 seatings daily, 6pm and 9pm, each hosting roughly 7 couples, which keeps the atmosphere serene and intentional. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the entire staff and seated immediately. We were the first to arrive, so I took the opportunity to admire and take pictures of the space before others arrived. The interior is stunning, breathtaking, and transports you straight to Japan! There's a beautiful private room the back which holds up to 8 guests and the personal chef and low to the group Japanese style seating. On the night we dined, we enjoyed an 18 course omakase tasting, paired with 4 sake tastings. The four sake selections were all exceptional, smooth and refined and unforgettable, even though I regret not capturing each of their names. The meal began with one of the most delicious bites I've ever had, king crab served over a warm and decedent custard. From there each course built on the last. We tasted a variety of salmons, tunas; some completely raw, and some aged to perfection for 14 days. Along with snapper, beautifully grilled Chilean sea bass, and many other crafted dishes. I tried Uni for the first time, and I finally understand why it is referred too as 'ice cream of the sea'. The taste, texture and aroma were all exquisite, creamy, delicate and truly memorable. The experience ended with a warm miso soup, followed by a refreshing melon wedge, and a red bean ice cream sandwiched between two very flaky wafers. Every single bite left me in awe. The chefs knife skills, the precision, the presentation, the simplicity of certain dishes which still packed powerful flavors, it all showcased the artistry of true Japanese fine dining. This was more than dinner, it was an experience. My absolute favorite dish? The A5 Wagu. It was heave on earth, melt in your mouth perfection. If you appreciate fine dining, exquisite flavors, culinarily history, and the craft behind aged, cured and meticulously prepared food, Taki Omakase is an unforgettable experience that you will love from start to finish.
