The pizza is alright. The garlic parmesan breadsticks are probably my favorite thing here. The employees are usually frazzled or annoyed and most of the time the place seems in disarray. I gained a taste for Papa John's Pizza fairly recent. I've ordered 3-5 times. Takes about an hour to be delivered. Not really bothered by that. The pizza is good. The service however, is perplexing. The delivery guy knocked on the door and stood waiting for me with a huge smile and upright posture and handed me my order, saying 'Just for you!', my receipt, my pizza, and a brochure for Bellacinos Pizza. Was really looking forward to trying the Shaq a Ronie. Finally today was the day.... What a total disappointment! The crust was soft throughout, barely browned, whoever attempted to slice it did a terrible job, was sliced irregular and haphazard, not even cut through. One of the single worst pizza places you can order from, seriously. So let's see, to begin with, the concept of CHARGING TO DELIVER PIZZA THAT DOES NOT GO TO THE DRIVER is an absolute "to hell with you!" concept these days. I'm not saying I don't know that they all don't do it, but to do it with such brazen disregard for the concern for customer service and as a HUGE grab at extra money is just absurd that people capitulate to it! Papa John's has the audacity to ask for an extra fee ("tip") for your driver to deliver the pizza that you just over-paid for AND also paid a "DELIVERY FEE" on top of. Then, this location wants to offer "No Contact" devliery during the COVID epidemic as an extra way to justify their inflated delivery fees...but guess what!? They don't follow through with what you think you're paying for! We just paid $40 for 2 pizzas (worth maybe $6-8 in product) to be delivered to our home that is only about 5 miles away from their location. Besides that, we selected for our PRE-PAID order to be left on our porch, which is a policy of THEIRS! Well, guess what happened? Yep, you know it! The order arrived after almost an hour with a driver banging at our door for OVER FIVE MINUTES!!! So when I finally go to the door (that I requested not to) he was getting back in his car with our PRE-PAID pizza and leaving...are you serious!!??? To sum it all up nicely and realize exactly what you are dealing with, the driver had the audacity to claim, "Oh ya, we ignore those no contact delivery requests." You get what you get...! ***********UPDATE************ Spoke with the "General Manger" at this location (Cable Road, Lima, OH) about 30 minutes after I called in the complaint about their "No Contact" service...or lack of. He informed me that "No Contact" for Papa John does not mean what it does for other companies. In their terms, it means that we bang on your door and if you come to the door, we place the delivery bag on your porch and walk away as you take your boxes of pizza out of the bag. Then we get our empty bag and leave." What!? Are you seriously trying to shovel that load on me? With Door Dash and Uber having very easy and specific "NO CONTACT" delivery methods that involve photos of your delivery being left and true No Contact delivery, this is the national corporate policy of Papa John??? He also stated that I was expecting too much from the claim of "No Contact" delivery and that "it wasn't really that important!" I'm not buying it and they shouldn't be selling it! Either way, what it boils down to is a horribly inexperienced "General Manager" (who admitted to being a driver just last year) trying to make excuses and lies for horrible service. Pizza was delicious, stuffed crust was great! But every time I come into this location there's always a super long wait even when I'm the only body in the store. Order Papa John's pizza today had to wait over an hour for delivery which is fine I believe that's normal the pizza gets to the house and it's cold as usual I watch. Tracker thing that I had to track when my pizza was coming and it just seems like it was sitting there but that's what I get for ordering Papa John's Pizza never again there's too many pizza places here to choose from then to always be receiving cold pizza they say it's hot and fresh but that ain't even true at least from this place read more
