Called in 2 pizzas for pick up 20 minutes out, got there, told to wait 20 more minutes, 20 minutes later told to wait 20 more minutes, 3rd time , after 20 minutes, I was told it's just now going in, 20 more minutes it was ready! I told them to keep it and went to Domino's, 15 minutes it was ready! Papa John's, Poor service, poor communication, just not worth the wait or trouble! Avoid this place if you want pizza unless you have all day. I watched others order and come and go, door dash pick up orders, delivery drivers pick up orders and leave! I called ahead to order my pizzas. The woman that I spoke with repeated my order back to me correctly. When I arrived I found that I've been charged for three pizzas instead of four and they were all wrong. Nothing have the right stuff on it and when I asked for them to be remade I got a lot of attitude and no apology. I highly suggest going somewhere else. It is difficult to get a good pizza delivery from the various businesses in Front Royal. Unfortunately, this Papa John's contributes heavily to the problem. First off, if you live in Linden, they have stopped delivering to the mountains. They used to offer prompt service and excellent pizza. However, their delivery times slowly declined. I originally receive a delivery within an hour. Then it became 90 minutes. The last two times I ordered, it took FOUR HOURS to get my pizza. Every time I called to ask where my pizza was, they told me that the driver was in route and I would receive the pizza any minute. In spite of the fact that it is only a 20 minute drive from the Papa John's to my house, I am willing to accept that it will take longer to get pizza here. I am even willing to pay an extra delivery fee. However, four hours is shoddy and unacceptable under any circumstances. My complaints to this Papa John's were ignored until I went to corporate. Once I went to corporate, the local manager contacted me but made excuses about how their business was booming and they were short staffed. Even assuming that this were true (which I find hard to believe with so many people looking for work), it didn't address the issue that either (a) their drivers are terrible, or (b) they lie on the phone regarding delivery times. If they told the truth, i.e., that delivering a timely, hot pizza was no longer so important to them, and that you might receive a cold pizza in 3 or 4 hours, then they would lose a lot more customers. The unfortunate thing about this situation is that Papa John's used to have higher standards, and has obvious seen a decline. However, rather than fix the problem by hiring more drivers, or by requiring that their employees meet certain quality and customer service standards, they decided to just drop those of us in Linden like a hot potato. Way to go, Papa John's. Great customer service. The Melting Pot and Pizza Hut do not deliver to the mountains either. Brothers Pizzeria used to deliver (and had excellent quality and very fast delivery times, thereby proving that delivery to the mountain was not such a challenge) but has since gone out of business. So, alas, the pizza delivery market in Linden remains largely untapped. Even if you live somewhere within this Papa John's new, reduced, delivery zone, I would not recommend them. Your money is their first priority. Your satisfaction as a customer is a dismal last. read more

I ordered my food at 5:12 on a Sunday night, I got the email confirmation and it said delivery would be 18-28 minutes. Came at 5:30, and they brought the wrong drink. I let the driver know that and she said she would bring it back in about 15-20 minutes. No apology offered, just an attitude filled I'll bring it later. Fine, whatever, I paid for it, I'll wait. It is 6:30 now and I am JUST receiving the correct drink after I called to complain. Still no apology offered. Nothing to make it right, or anything. Too bad you can't rate less than 1 star or this Papa John's (in fact all of them) would be recurring that from me. My wife and I are both church employees and this past Sunday decided our two-year old's request for pizza was fulfillable. After waiting 45 minutes for a delivery from around the corner, we handed the drive a $100 bill. After being told he could not change it, we offered for him to take it and come back with change. Long story short, he took the pizza and left while a small child screamed and cried that she wanted her pizza. Papa John's corporate policy is not to make more than $20 in change. So if you order $28.00 worth of food and try to pay with a $50 bill, they will not do it, even in the store. I called, they were anything but apologetic, and this type of behavior is absurd. One of my favorite pizza places even for a chain. Beside "Melting Pot", Papa John's is just about the only other pizza in this area that I will eat. The pizzas are always consistent and delicious. For the most part the employees are great, you do get the occasional "I hate my job" attitude but it's delivery or carry-out so theres not so much interaction. read more

I must admit that I am a regular here even though they don't deliver to my house. They are not 10 minutes from my house, but as with all Papa John's they offer some great deals from time to time. Depending on my mood I will order delivery from Papa Johns, but they have to be having a good deal for me to order. Delivery times are kind of ridiclous and I live in the town of Front Royal. There have been plenty of times I'll order something ONLINE (So I know it was put in correctly) and I'll get the wrong pizza all together or wrong toppings, or the wrong cut. Just moved to the area and chose to pick up pizza at the local Papa John's because generally it's good pizza. To be honest, I haven't even tried it yet, but the experience in the actual store made me sick to my stomach and I don't think I will ever go back. The girl at the counter had nothing but attitude. They couldn't find my order at first because my last name on the account was my maiden name. Fair enough. She was so salty and talking under her breath the entire time and just rude. As if that wasn't enough, the man that I can only assume was the manager, started yelling at his employees in front of everyone, belittling them and screaming about how they need to hurry up and make the pizzas in front of them. I too am a retail/restaurant manager and I get it. I understand restaurant business and the stress that comes with it, but there is no reason EVER to talk to people that way especially in front of your customers.
