Wow! This place is great. The breads and pizza dough are as good as you'll find. Meatballs...simple yet so revealing about a restaurant...out of this world. As a small business going through the recent pandemic we wanted to give them our business, well, with part of my family having food allergies and digestion issues we have to take in food from another restaurant for a couple members of our family. Well, we get dressed up, and are seated with our family of 6, then the waiter tells us that because 2 of our members have meals from outside we are not allowed to dine there and must leave. This is the best family-owned casual Italian restaurant in the south Florida area. The atmosphere is comfortable and servers are super excellent. Be sure to ask for TJ - he is super awesome. My favorites are the following: Stuffed Shells ($10.95 Complete Dinner), Shrimp Parmesean (you get 6 large shrimp for 14 bucks complete dinner). I also love the Gnocchi and the Tortellini. The meatballs and sausage are great. They will make pretty much anything you can think of - everyone is very accommodating. The pizza is close to NY -- very good (my recommendation is to ask for it to be made extra crispy). I go there once a week and I'm always very pleased. I highly recommend. I know good food. My family and I went there for dinner because we liked their take out pizza, we ordered a basil mozzarella tomato appetizer, I must tell you it was terrible, we were then dreading our main meals, we ordered spaghetti and meatballs, mussels marinara, and lasagna. Service was fast and friendly (maybe a little too fast, our papa Giuseppe pizza was a little undercooked in the middle). Flavor was good but the crust is more of a cracker crust than the thinner NY style I was expecting which is the main reason for my 3 star review but my girlfriend enjoyed the crust so it's more of a personal preference. I think a single topping pizza would have been better because all the toppings just made it too soggy, which was also dissapointing. Pasta fagioli was very tasty even though it was very different than what I'm used to! Arrived 20 minutes later, was in and out the door in less than 1.5 minutes. Same person from phone, super pleasant. The pizza: Has the potential to be the best pizza in Delray. The cheese is excellent, did not have hardly any sauce, only a few spots on the pie had smidgeon of sauce, thus, pizza was not flavorful in most places. After a hard day of work at our new home in Delray we decided to come here for a well deserve dinner in our new neighborhood. We decided on this restaurant because we love Italian food. The place was pretty full for a Wednesday night but we got seated with no wait. Too bad we never got to try the food because our waitress kept disappearing and taking care of other tables. I got my water and bread but my wife never even got a drink. She came to the table next to us and pickup there dishes and ask us if we were ready to order, we said yes and she responded "I'll be back " we could not believe it. Few minutes later she was on the way to our table and stop at another table that just got seated,after a few minutes of conversation she turn around and went back to the bar, that's went we got up and try to pay for our water and bread so we could get out of there. We express our frustration and explains what happened to the hostess and the bartender, they were very apologetic and said not to worry about paying for my water and bread. My two daughters & I were in the area. I'm from Boynton Beach & they're from Coral Springs. We came upon Papa Giuseppe & from the moment we entered, we were warmly greeted by all. It's a family restaurant in the true sense. i had eggplant rolatine, 1 daughter had eggplant parm & the other had sausage & peppers. Everything was FABULOUS!. Chunks of tomatoes in the freshly made sauce & the al dente peppers were a happy surprise. We ended this delicious luncheon with coffee & a homemade cannoli. This was hands down the best pizza I've found down in Florida. They really brought the New York authenticity to each pie. Not only was it great pizza, but they opened moments after the Hurricane Irma curfew was lifted. An absolute joke !!!!! I went in for a few pizzas, small plates , and wine with family . First off the waitress with pink washed out hair an absolute idiot , in the bathroom out of the bathroom , She didn't know the menu , brought plastic soda cups for our San Pellegrino (and on top of it was actually irritated we wanted glass ware , she brought champagne flutes lol ). It's gets worse ! When she brought garlic knots , ice cold (yuuuuuum) and the dishes she brought were all wet ( with bleach composite cleanser ) low and behold water drips all over a shirt I've been waiting 2 weeks ( a hard to come by Lacoste made in France ) Nothing like a blue shirt turning pink from bleach . I was so irritated when I got home I ripped my shirt in 3 pieces and tossed it in the trash . We had to ask for spatulas for our pizza ( when I ask , we were met with why ??? Lmao) . Our eggplant pizza was on point but our casa Nostra which advertised prosciutto had Canadian bacon . Papa G's was always on point and a pleasure. Never again ! We had not been back since they moved into their new building. We walked in with a party of 10 after church on Sunday to find out they no longer have large pies but rather just individual pies on Sundays. The waitress was cold and acted like we were putting her out. Needless to say we told the waitress we would go else where for a family pie style pizza establishment. The food was good, but they ran out of garlic rolls before we got there. That was disappointing. The pizza was good but it wasn't made that well. Horrible food, but I have to say at least one nice thing, this restaurant has lots of menu items and great prices. BUT it is honestly the worst food I've ever eaten. There were 9 people in my party and we each had different items, no one liked their food. The one thing that really bothered me occurred in the bathroom a cook walked in from the kitchen, used the bathroom then walked back into the kitchen without washing his hands. There was also a waitress who had a soiled bandaid that touched each of our plates. The atmosphere is very depressing and the food was equally as depressing. When the waitress asked if we needed anything boxed we said no (most of the food was barely touched) she didn't ask any further questions about why we didn't want our food to go or why it was barely touched. I can be somewhat of a pizza snob. While I've never personally lived in NY, my family is from NYC, and the pizza I ate growing up was hand picked by my somewhat discerning family. That being said, this is one of the best pizza places I've tried around here so far. Excellent sauce, perfect thinness of crust, good cheese. What more can you ask for? I used to live 5 minutes from here...I now live 15-20 minutes from here, and still choose to pick up my pizza from here over my closer options. I have brought my aforementioned NY family to dine here when they come to visit, and they all left happy. Vodka sauce is tasty and cannolis are out of this world! The brother-team that runs this place is always courteous, and always makes you feel like you're part of the family, just stopping in to grab some dinner. Eat here, go home happy. read more
