While we waited for our pizza, we were delightfully surprised with how flavorful the bread sticks and marinara sauce were! IT IS SO GOOD!! We ordered online (plus). We got the house favorite and the emperors bread (goat cheese and pepedew peppers). The emperors bread was alright. I'm not sure I would get it again just for the price. The pizza, however, was so good! Thin crust that isn't cracker-like so you could fold it, really fresh tomatoes that weren't mealy, hint of garlic and lots of fresh basil. The 14" was perfect for 2 people. The staff were super friendly. It looks like there are a couple tables to sit at and eat but it's definitely a takeout joint. Yummm, I'm always so leery about trying new pizza places but I am so glad I did. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, lasagna, garlic bread, and a brownie. It was a bit pricy but pizza anywhere is ridiculously overpriced these days, at least this one was good. Large portion, loaded with meat and Italian sausage. The sauce was the star. Light and fresh with big tomato flavor. There was fennel and fresh basil. Blew my usual Villa Nova away and at 9.99, it was half the price. The amount of cheese was perfect for me. It was not loaded down with cheese, so if you're in it for the cheese, you may want to order extra. On to the garlic bread. Another wow! Not your standard split mass produced sub bun. I'm pretty sure it was ciabatta. Great fresh bread soaked with olive oil infused with fresh garlic. Again, best garlic bread I've ever had. Amazing fresh garlic flavor and excellent bread. My husband ordered a pizza sub and again, you guessed it, best pizza sub we have ever had. Excellent bread and huge. Great sauce and cheese and loaded with Ezzo pepperoni. This bread was soooo good! I have been a patron since they opened and really like their pizza and being an old fat guy that loves all pizza, eating 'za roughly twice a week, that's saying a lot. NY style. After receiving a few ads in my door, I decided to give this local business a try. The place is super tiny and gives you a small town pizza shop vibe, especially since the employees are so friendly. My boyfriend ordered the cheesy garlic bread and pizza sub while I ordered the spaghetti with meatballs and the Dutch apple calzone. Papa Giorgio's Pizza is the best! From their excellent New York style crust, to their creamy-melty (NOT rubbery!) cheese, to sauce that tastes so fresh! They make a bangin' stromboli too --golden and crispy outside with the perfect cheese to meat balance inside. The homemade buns and Ezzo meats make for subs that are just superb! (If meat isn't your thing, there are lots of great veggie toppings/fillings.) They offer excellent, fresh salads too! My self proclaimed pizza-snob friends from New York are big fans. I haven't had a ton of NY style pizza, but I had probably the best pizza I ever had in my life last week that was NY style (and actually in florida of all places). Papa didn't quite hit that mark and where it fell short was the sauce. It wasn't bad by any means, actually good, but the bar is high. My partner and I have picked up DoorDash orders from there before and the staff has always been nice. We decided to order yesterday evening since my son whom is a freshman at Centennial has been raving about the cheesy bread. He likes to add the Mike's hot honey to it and had told us that the High Schoolers may get an student discount for their orders (when they initiate and pay themselves). Nevertheless we had their food yesterday evening and felt that the overall taste was pretty good. Unfortunately I couldn't order the Family Special online which was disappointing. They offer it as an carry out only deal but since the deal was online I would've had to call it in. I happened to see another deal (Wednesday's only) for $3 off their large 16 inch pizzas so we decided to order that. Unfortunately I was only able to snap a picture of one of the two pizzas we ordered since the kids dived into there's no sooner than we got home I will say upon opening the box for one of our orders (custom build your own pizza) I was surprised by the generous amount of toppings for what we spent which was around $22 ish in price. We spent $45.60 between two 16 inches (1- half cheese-half pep, the other customized toppings) and the cheesy bread with the addition of the Mike's hot honey drizzle (which cost $2 to add). My partner and I also discovered that you can add up to 3 toppings to your cheese bread if you want! Nice!! They had a plethora of toppings to choose from. I wish we would've made our pizza the pan crust because the pizza crust was too flimsy for the amount of toppings we had on it but the cheese pizza was *chefs kiss! I look forward to seeing what else they have to offer and it's safe to say they have a loyal customer because my 14 year old son loves their cheesy bread!!! read more

Listen. If you want a cheap, gigantic slice of cheap pizza, this is a great option. One slice is 1/4 of a large pie. It's BIG. I got cheese. It was swimming in oil on top. After blotting all the oil off the top and adding parm and red chili flakes, I liked it. My hood needed this; an artisan pie made from primo ingredients for a workmen's price. Papa Giorgio is a relatively new joint that took over the bistro space of the vanished Buckeye Pizza, and Flying Pizza before that, next to Texas Roadhouse in Bethel plaza. The place is a true mom and pop as it's owned and operated by a family naming the place after their father's nickname. It is his dough recipe they use, taught to him by Mario the Baker, a master baker from Italy their webpage informs. They also use Grande cheese and ezzo pepperoni and sausages both are said to be 'the best.' I order their supreme via their newish on-line portal, which was a breeze to use and worked perfectly. The supreme features that ezzo pepperoni and sausage, green pepper, shrooms, olive, banana peppers, and a combo shot of mozzarella and provolone Grande cheese. $17 for the small, this pie, sliced in the proper triangular slices (remember square slices is for squares!) was very good, gourmet like, with great sauce, amazing-amazing crust and the best topping in the correct generous amounts (but not overbearing.) It tasted very fresh, and beautifully made. I will say it might be the best Pizza in the Henderson Heights. But I need to try more. I also tagged on an order of cheese sticks which I judge as average but still good. They also sell Stromboli, calzones, lasagna, salads, and subs. Add on soda to wash down the Italian goodness. I'm struggling with how to review the pizza at Papa Giorgio's, because the people were really nice. The pizza was pretty good, but definitely not great, and 5 of us said we probably won't go back. Here's the issue - the dough is thin, and the cheese is thin, and there isn't a lot of sauce, so their pizza tastes nice but isn't very filling. It's tasty enough, but we'd each need to eat 1/2 of a large pizza to fill up. Their website talks about the 2 things that make them different - the high quality toppings, and the house-made crust. The toppings were definitely high quality, but there weren't enough for me - especially the cheese was fairly thin. We got one pizza that was double-cheese, and that's how much cheese should be on their regular pizza. The pepperoni was very good. The crust was thin, but chewy and not crispy. Not really New York style, I'm not sure what style it is. It was fine, but wasn't my favorite. The "bread sticks" are merely pieces of excess pizza dough that's been baked. If this is your style of pizza, then you'll love Papa Giorgio's. But for their prices we want something a little more substantial for our money. read more

Amazing NY style pizza. I'm always in search of a good pie and this was not a let down. Very thin NY style crust making the slices easy to fold and shove big bites into your mouth. Old world pepperoni that held little cups of grease as it came out of the oven, cheese was ooey and gooey as slices were pulled apart, and the flavor was fantastic. I didn't even add parm and red pepper as I usually do. Ate half of it while it was still warm, right out the oven with no extra toppings. Usually in NY I would add garlic powder and oregano but I had neither with me I'm the car ;-) Bonus: if you want to check them out for the first time on Mondays they have a $5 cheese pizza and on Tuesday's they have a $6 1-topping. During the past six months, though, things have gone downhill. Inconsistent at best. Sometimes the pizza comes under-baked (almost raw) and wet. Sometimes the toppings are borderline gross.
