Been meaning to come here for ages, but we always forget about it till we've already gotten supper. Today, storm coming, Sweetie wanted pizza, and this is one of the closest local joints. Called and ordered easily (aside from kitchen noise.) 25 minutes, not bad at 630 on a Friday. They were jumping when I got there. Super friendly and professional. Got our food, headed home, car smelled great. Pizzas looked great. And tasted pretty darn good. K got cheese, said the sauce was "too spicy." I didn't think so at all. Sweetie got pepperoni and liked it. I got pepp and sausage, and a 6" sub. The pizza was pretty good: medium-thick crust, perfectly cooked, good sauce, good cheese, plenty of good toppings. Some complain about the sausage "bits" but I liked them. The sub is small, but I did that on purpose since I was getting pizza too. If you want just a sub, get the 9" at least. Perfect Italian sub: good bread, good meat and veggies, held together well. Gone in a flash. Standard menu: pizza, subs, salads. But a few interesting specialty ones, like Lorraine, Florentine, Greek. Price was reasonable for as much food as we got, and the quality. I'd go back. read more

We had a delicious "car picnic" this week with personal size pizzas from Gahanna Pizza Plus. I hadn't had pizza in several months, so it was especially delicious - I felt like I had died and gone to heaven. The ingredients were fresh and the flavor was perfection. I got pineapple on mine and it was flawless. Kiddo had plain cheese and wolfed down the entire pie happily. We met the owner and he shared that he's originally from Pennsylvania, which explains the definite East coast flair to this 'za. He also shared that you can order "half-baked" pies to take home and finish baking in the oven at home. Now that's a great idea. The lunch special is $6 or so for an 8-inch, 1-item pizza and a can of brand name pop. It felt like a good deal to us and we left stuffed. Those were very satisfying pizzas! There's noplace to sit or eat here, so it's takeout only. However, you can browse for candy at Buckeye Candy Co. next door while you're waiting for your pizza to bake, which is also a definite plus! read more

Another unique pizza place in Gahanna. Their crust is white color, bready and unconventional for thick crust. Might be the low temperature oven. Italians from Italy would say it's not pizza but hey America is all about inventions and re-inventions so here we go. I'm glad I gave this place a try for office pizza party and most of the people liked it. I personally like high temp oven baked pizza with some charring just so it tastes more complex, I couldn't find any of that but toppings were great. They were generous and of high quality. Decided to try these guys, been meaning to forever. Ordered the large max pepperoni which is two kinds of pepperoni, the cup type and regular type. This thing was loaded with cheese. The pizza is good, not great. Definitely over priced compared to competitors like other reviews have mentioned. We did the no contact delivery and the food was delivered right on time and still hot. Each pizza was loaded with toppings which was nice and it is very filling. Would buy again from time to time but there is better tasting pizza and more affordable options out there. read more

My buddy and I decided to start trying the subs at all the pizza places around us, since we're starting to run low on new lunch options. Since Gahanna Pizza Plus is the closest, we thought we'd start with this one. It's right in downtown Gahanna and has a little shop for take out. They have some great lunch deals, so along with the Italian subs we ordered, I also picked up an 8" pepperoni pizza and soda for $5. They also had a $3 6" Italian sub and soda deal for lunch every day as well. You can't beat the pricing on those. We didn't call ahead, but it only took the guys about 10 minutes to bake them. The man working the counter was very nice and extra helpful. To start, the Italian sub is decent, especially the bread and the meat, but my co-worker and I both noticed something super sweet in there, and I'm assuming it was the Italian dressing. It didn't really go with the sandwich and a weird dressing can make or break the deal. We didn't like that part at all, so we covered it up with mayo, and I put some hot sauce on mine. If it weren't for that dressing, it'd be a really good sub. The pizza was awesome. Both of us really enjoyed it. The dough tasted great, and the pepperonis were very tasty along with the sauce. We'll definitely be back for the pizza, especially with that pricing, but if I do decide to get an Italian there again, I'll ask for it without the dressing. read more

This pizza was dry as hell and there was no shaved Parmesan as stated on the menu. It was the bs string cheese parm you get from a prefab bag at a store. I finally stopped by here today. I've been wanting to go for awhile. I order a pepperoni and a supreme pizza. The offer the "old fashioned" pepperoni but you have to request it. Unless it's listed on a specialty pizza. They also make subs, but I didn't try them this time. The location isn't the best when it's rush hour. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The pizza was okay. The crust was like a thick cracker crust. There wasn't enough cheese on it in my opinion. But I like for the cheese to string off when you pick up a slice. This is my favorite pizza place in Gahanna so far. I had a really hard time finding something that was worth mentioning back home about. My first pizza was the one with several types of mushrooms and an amazingly spicy pep. It's a little pricey but worth it. It's been a few weeks and I need to go back. The pizza was amazing. The experience, not so much and I don't think we'll be back. The big dude, 40's, dark hair, working the front counter on June 4th needs a lesson in customer service. He gave us no time to look at the menu, spoke to us as if we were inconveniencing him by being there, and was loudly berating a delivery driver when we came to pick the pizza up. It's hard to justify driving one town over and spending my money at an establishment that doesn't seem to care about the customers or the employees. When I moved to C-bus many moons ago, I searched, mostly in vain, for a favorite pizza place. GPP turned out to be my first "find" on the Columbus pizza scene. To this day, I still love ordering up an Ultimate. GPP serves a "bastard" pizza. It's not NY Style, it's not Chicago and it's really not Ohio style either. While square cut, the massive pile of toppings does not extend "edge to edge" and you actually get a nubbin of crust to hang onto around the rim (if you can find it under the toppings). The crust is thicker than most Ohio pies, but is also very crisp (not foldable like NY style). Given the thickness of the crust and the heap of toppings, you definitely should order up extra sauce. The "Ultimate" is right up my alley - two kinds of peps and two kinds of shrooms. What really sells it are the smaller peps on top. Those peps get so deliciously crispy and are spicier than any pepperoni I've had elsewhere - adding just a fantastic kick! Despite having to have a new pizza experience every Tuesday, I still make time to come back to GPP for one of my original faves. read more

Much to my husband's chagrin I insist that pizzas fall into three categories: Summer, Winter and year round. In my mind, Gahanna Pizza Plus is a winter only pizza. It's comfort food. The crust isn't a pan crust but it takes some chewing to get through. The cheese is ample. The sauce is spicier than most places around, and the toppings are plentiful. On a cold winter's night, with a movie on TV I honestly can't think of a better pizza to enjoy. In the summer, not so much. The pizza isn't any different but hot nights were made for a different kind of pie. Other than all that, I can honestly say I haven't tried a specialty pizza here I didn't like. The three kinds of mushroom pizza was excellent and the greek is beyond good. The place here isn't bad - my primavera plus pizza had a nice thick crust and fresh veggies. I wasn't blown away, but I did enjoy it. When I came in to pick up my pizza the place was a bit slammed. I wasn't really greeted or acknowledged for a good 2-3 minutes after walking in the door and there was someone standing at the counter all of a foot in front of me. That was fairly annoying & kind of awkward; I realize there is no dine in experience but having a smidge of customer service or a quick "we'll be right with you" seems like an easy thing to do. read more

Pizza on the go isn't usually what I would expect to be great, but Gahanna Pizza Plus (in conjunction with Bexley Pizza Plus) has won quite a few awards, which hang on their wall and are mentioned in their flyers. As recently as 2006 they won first place in the Midwest Pizza Pizzazz and were US Pizza Team Members in the Food Network's World Pizza Challenge in Salsamaggiori, Italy. That makes me chuckle because "salsa maggiori" in Italian means "great sauce". Anyway...they have more than just pizza, including subs and salads. Surprisingly, the salads aren't just bowls of lettuce; they have a few different options. I tried a lunch special Italian sub and it was pretty good. The bread was crunchy but nothing too special. It was more of the combination of everything. Oil and vinegar were used as the dressing and was soaked into the bread instead of poured on the insides, which I personally like better as it keeps the bread moist. There was a good ratio of meat to cheese to veggies and all the ingredients were fresh. Hot or cold, the subs are good either way. The lunch specials come with soda or chips. So, we were in Gahanna on an errand and wanted some supper. I don't know gahanna, but had an Entertainment book. Of course, they don't list which places are in gahanna, so I had to search. We were going to settle for a chain when I found the coupon for this place. I thought - let's see if the place is still there. The GPS led us to the place, which is very small - one chair inside if you are waiting, I don't think there was a table. We dropped in. I looked at the menu and was quite impressed by all the ingredients available to put on the pizza. However, the spouse is not to adventureous, so I asked for a large supreme, knowing the spouse would like that. Was told it would be 15 minutes, which was the next impressive thing. We walked around the neighborhood, and returned about 15-20 minutes later. When I walked in the door, there was a pizza box on the shelf, the guy who took my order handed it to me and off we went. We live about 30 minutes away so we drove towards home, a hot pie in a box on my lap. We made it about 1/3 of the way home before the smell was enough to convince us to cheat and get a slice. I grabbed a couple of small corners for my spouse and I and began munching. The second slice was when I realized that this was NOT the supreme - it was the Greek pizza - feta, artichoke hearts, black olives. I loved it, and she ate 4 or 5 slices, but grumbled the whole time. But it was too far to go back and we had eaten too much. I feel sorry for the person who had ordered the greek and got the supreme instead. The pizza was 16 inches, and the coupon was 1/2 off, so we got a good bargain. The crust had a nice crispy outside, with a bit of softness inside. There were a lot of ingredients on it. It is a good bargain. If we had gotten what we ordered, I would have rated it higher. read more

To me this is the Jeni's of pizza. It stands a cut above the rest in its tastiness. It's just...different, not greasy, not overplayed. I'd recommend avoiding the sausage, it's that little pellet sort of sausage which just doesn't appeal to me.
