I visited Panera today 2/24/18, I ordered the pick two chicken salad sandwich and broccoli cheddar soup. To my surprise when I got home and opened the sandwich the only thing that was on it was lettuce and tomato and one slither of chicken. I will never visit this Panera location again. I always find it ridiculous that there are two Paneras within a mile of each other, not to mention two full size malls with many of the same stores. Guess it's a Jersey thing. (cue South Park joke). Overall, this Panera has disappointed me less than the one near Menlo Mall (Route 1, Edison). The lot, while usually busy, is still accessible and if you don't mind walking for 30 seconds, it's fine. Last time I was at the Edison location, I waited over ten minutes for food, which is a long time for a Panera. They were also out of a bunch of stuff--soup, bread, etc. Poor guy behind the line seemed panic-stricken in Edison, which doesn't seem to be the case here. Good food (as normal), relatively friendly staff. Sometimes they seem burnt out, especially when you go at night. If you have to choose one Panera, I prefer the one here. read more

The food at this location is OK. The people that work here aren't friendly, especially the workers at the register. After eating my soup, I noticed a soda lid at the bottom of the bowl. You can tell the food is frozen and just warmed up - mediocre at best. read more

They used to call you to pick up your order. Now they're trying this new thing where somebody brings it to your table. I waited 15 minutes for my sandwich I walked up to the counter and 4 people working there literally would not acknowledge I was even there and then I think I saw my sandwich sitting there for about 10 more minutes until they brought it over and of course by then it was pretty much cold. I mean 25 minutes to get a bagel egg and cheese sandwich come on. I love Panera food but this location leaves a lot to be desired. The service was not good. I got a take out order and they forgot to put 2 soups in. It took me about 4 phone calls and 20 min later to reach a manager who could not be bothered but seemed to think "giving" me two soups on my next visit should make me ecstatic. Panera bread definitely receives 5 stars considering Panera is only casual dining, keep in mind, as opposed to other fine dining restaurants. Management A+, the manager was laughing as he told me he arrived at 5AM to work Servers, Front Desk Cashiers B+ , could use a smile although are very polite Restaurant cleanliness B+ - Very clean and the team is very attentive Meals, Dishes A+ , the sandwiches, mac and cheese and the preparation and execution of the dishes are wonderful. The food is wonderful and worth the prices which are less than 10 per dish. Environment B+, Great for casual dining Great restaurant for breakfast, lunch, brunch, and an understanding to use quality ingredients. Very healthy. I am impressed. read more

Recently came in at 9:35 pm and the girl at the register proceeded to loudly tell her co-worker "oh, I guess we are not closing now..." Before she took my order she says something to one of the food preparers and they reply back "ohh, i get it. Then after taking the order, she tells me that the oven isn't working and that I will have to have cold food. While I was waiting for my food, I see that one of the ovens is on and working. The food preparer verifies with me that I want a cold sandwhich and I said that the girl told me the oven wasn't working. Through all of this, I realized that the girl at the register told the people in the back to just make my sandwhich cold and not to bother turning it on bc they were starting to close. Not happy about the service. The one by menlo park mall is better. read more

I honestly think the service at this Panera is exceptional. They're super busy which tends to be the cause of most of the complaints they receive. But I LOVE everything about the location, even the employees. There is a manager/supervisor that is almost always there & he's awesome! He even got in the back and prepped my complicated order for me! I love the rapid pick up. They do leave the bag on a shelf but that's why it's RAPID PICK UP. I ordered at 9:45 once & got a bowl of soup instead of a cup! Today, I ordered a roasted turkey & avocado BLT with chips and a lemonade. Yum! Not to mention the rewards I get for frequenting. I thoroughly enjoy Panera Bread because they combine a bakery style with some very good options. This location is nice because they have a lot of seating and the wait to get your food is usually pretty low even when there is a decent sized line. The staff that works here is very friendly and they are very helpful, always willing to take the time to answer any questions that you may have. In addition to taking the time to answer the questions, they are also very good at taking orders quickly, so people don't have to wait in line. If you don't want to have to wait in like you have the option to use the kiosks to order. If you are going to dine in, they give you a tracker that you place on the table so the kitchen can bring your food right to the table and you don't have to wait to pick it up. In addition to that, the time that you have to wait for the food to come out is very low so you can usually order and eat almost right away. Even when there is a wait it usually isn't that long so you can get in and out quickly. The restaurant is also very clean and the tables are wiped down quickly after a guest leaves so that there is always ample seating. Overall I would highly recommend this location of Panera Bread because they truly care about their customers and they know that your time is valuable, so they don't take their time. read more

My parents and I stopped at Panera last night for a quick meal after shopping. The 3 of us ordered but my mom's sandwich was a bit delayed which seemed peculiar in a relatively uncrowded restaurant. My dad and I received our orders while my mom was still waiting about 5 more minutes. A staff member walked over to let her know it was delayed and it would be right out which we were content with. My mom finally received her meal with an extra sandwich which was unexpected! On top of that, the employee handed my dad our money back for my mom's sandwich and sincerely apologized for the wait. The manager stopped over the explain what happen and even threw in a cookie! The customer service at this Panera was outstanding and I would certainly venture there again. Yummy pick any two - love the medditeranean veggie and tomato mozzorella panini sandwiches and the cream of tomato soup ( yes i am a veggie!). And you also get a side of chips. Another great thing is that with their pick any two combo you can also get a slice of cake for 1$ ( love their cinnamon crumb cake). Also tried their low fat mango smoothie and iced chai latte both of which we good. To top it all it has a warm and cozy ambience and quick service. Its always been a good experience at Panera's. Wish they had more options for vegetarians though! read more

I just had lunch at Panera in Edison (store 1483). Super service but those folks who love the tomato soup, stay away! 5 croutons, 1/3 piece of cheddar for $0.75, and baguette was about 1/3 smaller than most Panera's. Disappointed!!!!!! read more

This is the BEST Panera! Everyone is incredibly friendly and goes out of their way to give great service. The food is always delicious and fresh. I often work from here and order breakfast and lunch. Kyle is great. He has a wonderfully upbeat attitude and is always checking on me and the other customers. His attitude is contagious. I'll keep coming back just for him. It's so nice to have such friendly staff, especially in NJ when customer service can be a bit lacking. read more

I have been to this store many times & today will be the last time. I placed a take out order for a large caesar salad with chicken, small mac & cheese, and a small New England Clam Chowder soup. What I got with the salad was small pieces of chicken, TWO (2) croutons and the salad was smothered in crouton CRUMBS along with Chinese noodles that's not even supposed to be in the salad. Couldn't eat it because it looked gross. The soup cup was less than 3/4 full. I called the store to complain as I just spent close to $20 and tossed the salad in the garbage. I spoke to the manager named RACHEL who sounded very young for a Manager. Her solution was to bring it back. REALLY?? I don't live around the corner! It seems when you take out food, they give you smaller portions and the quality of food is poor. This is not the 1st time I've had a problem there, but until today I never reported it to them. I will not go back to this store, I suggest checking the food before if you take it home. read more
