While I was at work today, my Panera app sent me a notification. Perfect timing because I was starving. I told the husband we were getting Panera for dinner tonight. We when to the grocery store and I placed an order in the app for pick up. This location was packed tonight. Turns out there was a fund raiser going on. No big deal! My order was ready to go and I just needed to get it... but I couldn't find it. Turns out they were so busy inside that all the in app orders were packed behind the counter. Again, no big deal! I saw my name on a bag and waved for an employee's attention. She gave me a big bag and a drink and I was on my way through the crowded restaurant and lobby to have dinner at home. Once we got home, everything looked perfect - except I forgot to ask for my crunchy cinnamon bagel to be cut ahead of time. No worries! I have a bread knife and I cut it myself. I asked my kids how their food was and my son couldn't be bothered to say any words because he was eating his mac and cheese up! But he gave me a thumbs up! My daughter was quite happy with her order (half Mediterranean green with grains salad and a half chicken chipotle avo melt) except she wished she ordered a whole sandwich! My husband got a whole toasted Italiano. I got a half chicken Fuji chicken salad and a half grilled chicken & avo BLT. My husband is about 3 bites from finishing his Italiano when he stops eating and pulls out a long hair from his mouth! My daughter and I do have long hair, but we were not handling his food and the color and texture of the hair is not like either of our hair. He immediately threw the rest of his sandwich away and stated that maybe it was because the restaurant was so busy tonight that this happened. This is usually a busy Panera. The food is just about the same as other Paneras. Our favorites for breakfast are the soufflés and avocado toast. Try the avocado toast with the aioli on the side. I think it tastes much better if you control the amount of aioli. Since it is pretty busy the service can seem slow after you order. Sometimes the pickup area has a bunch of folks waiting, but they have a pretty good order board. So you'll have a better idea when your order is ready for pickup. Order before you get there and then eat in. They have lots of tables, to include for groups. The outdoor tables are pretty good too. There's parking lot traffic but it's not noisy. read more

Location regularly runs out of ingredients in the middle of breakfast rush.... Sometimes at lunch.. Consistently neglects to make the Greek yogurt parfait correctly. They NEVER add the honey and the parfait either has too little yogurt (i once received a parfait by delivery that had a little over a tablespoon of yogurt but had lots of fruit) OR there is too little granola. Our salads were ready to be picked up and I grabbed it and get ready to eat with my wife and I see a hair in my salad just laying on my chicken and she couldn't believe it, like why would that be there honestly? Could that be purposely because they think people won't notice just ready to eat or is this a genuine mistake, I honestly don't know! I said wow, okay and what if that didn't happen when I spoke to your manager, Stu, and he didn't do any of those accommodations for me. The employee said honestly, I would recommend you call our corporate or HR and let them know. I said thanks for your honesty and left. So yeah, the manager there BY THE NAME OF STU doesn't seem fit for the job and if you look at how the kitchen floor is, you can get a good idea of how he takes care of his customers and cleanliness. It's bizarre that even with people who have ServSafe certifications they don't know the basics of up keeping a clean environment and having good customer service with paying customers. I honestly feel like this franchise owner does not care about cleanliness, training the staff, or anything you may expect from a Panera. I wish I hadn't paid in advance. I was grossed out by the level of visible dirt and mold on the drink machine. It is not hard to clean because I was able to wipe off the buildup on the handle with just the brown napkin they had. The food at this place is as good as any other Panera but the service is glacial even when the place is almost empty. Last time, I waited ten minutes for someone, anyone, to meet me at the register and then eventually ordered from my phone while someone in a "team lead" t-shirt wandered by and gave me a ninth degree side-eye. They never called my name but were nice enough to quietly put my bag on a shelf behind me, and then ask what my name was only to shrug and leave me to my eventual Panera order treasure hunt. A good place to eat in the Woodbridge area. As of late 2023, there are a total of 2173 Panera Bread locations in the United States of America across 50 states and 1369 cities. This is one of the 83 locations in Virginia and one of the 2 locations in Woodbridge. It is located down the hill from the intersection of Prince William Parkway and Touchstone Circle, next to a Safeway store and across the parking lot from a McDonald's. We walked into the location and found the counter is to the right as you enter with the seating a mixture of tables and large windows to the left-hand side. There are some tables in an enclosure outside the restaurant to the right of the door separated from the walkway by tasteful wooden walls. We were greeted upon entering and the nice man that took our order was very helpful and friendly. I have seen the other comments on Google about bad food, poor service, and unclean location but I did not see any of that. The location was clean. There was plenty of food. I ordered several souflees and a coffee. The prices for all Panera locations are higher but I have found it worth it for the consistent food quality, nice atmosphere, and good service. read more

Disappointing. I have been coming here for several years not so much for the food but the relaxed atmosphere after church most weeks. But the prices are just too high for food of mediocre quality. Today I spent $34 for two sandwiches (one tuna and one turkey), two drinks and a blueberry bagel. The sandwiches were slapped together with the ingredients piled in the center of the bread requiring you to take it apart and remake it. I ordered delivery through the app and received my order an hour ago, the delivery man for whatever reason broke the Panera tape seal and ripped open my bag. I don't feel safe eating it (especially during the pandemic), so I tried to call Panera over 10 times, and they have failed to answer each time. I tried to leave a review through my email order notification by clicking on the star rating at the bottom, and it only swiped away my order and gave me a notification that the app was down for maintenance....The app was working perfectly fine outside of the 1-star link. I tried to call the customer care # on the app, it notified me that the lines were closed every time I tried to report an issue, even though I called within the customer service hours. I was only able to get through to someone by connecting to an associate regarding the "Coffee subscription" -____- It seems like this company is avoiding issues/negative reviews. This sucks. Can't say that I trust eating here again. It's a shame, because the salads were actually made well this time....Now I have to drive over there, which defeats the whole purpose of delivery to begin with.... Edit: I'm upping it from 1 star to 3 stars, because the employees are nice here, and the nice cashier went out of her way to offer me a free pastry for the inconvenience, which was sweet of her. There is a female employee who refuses to pull her mask up to cover her nose; her nose is always exposed. This is against the public health mandate in Virginia. I have mentioned this several times to both in store management and corporate, and she's still allowed to work around food and people (less than 6 feet away) with her nose exposed. The bathroom is always disgusting here. Usually one of the two stalls is unusable, it smells awful, and there is never any soap or paper products. The cheese flatbread took over 20 minutes, and was the worst thing I have ever tasted. Even my kid wouldn't eat it. I have been ordering food from this place for several months. I have had no issues until I realized that when I was out of town, I had an unknown charge hit my account. I called the manager to resolve the issue so that it can be handled at her level. However, she was unprofessional, incompetent, rude and has poor listening skills. (You know who you are! DISCRIMINATION AT PANERA BREAD! Today, Sunday, January 2, 2022, I arrived at Panera Bread Cafe # 601186 located at 4300 Merchant Plaza, Woodbridge, Virginia 22192 at approximately 7:35 am. Upon my entry into the Cafe, I noted that no sale clerks were present at any of the checkout registers. I proceeded to the Cafe's kiosk and ordered three (3) cinnamon crunch bagels and a large coffee. My purchase totaled $7.33. I paid for my purchase via electronic payment in full. The kiosk screen instructed me to take a cup for me coffee and proceed to the food service pick-up area to wait for my order. I retrieved a large cup for my coffee which were stacked directly behind the kiosk and proceeded to the self-serve coffee station and prepared my coffee. Coffee in hand I walked to the food service pick-up area and sat on the bench and waited for the rest of my order. The food prep clerk called out order for 3 cinnamon crunch bagels. I stood and proceeded to the counter and verified that it was my order. I asked for extra butter and the food prep clerk said butter was already in the bag. I reached for extra butter out of the butter container atop the counter. A second clerk (later identified as May according to her name tag) asked me a question. I could not hear what she was asking so, I asked her to repeat the question. Given she was wearing a mask, I could not quite understand May so, I asked her to repeat the question again. May's question was, "are you a member of the coffee subscription program?" My response, "O, no, thank you." I proceeded to take my order but May said, well you didn't pay for the coffee." Stunned and confused I said, "What? What are you talking about?" May pointed to the printout taped to my order and said, "the coffee purchase is not on there." I paused for a moment to do the calculations in my head and responded, "yes I did look at the total on the printout." May said, yes, and you didn't pay for the coffee." I asked May, how much are the bagels and how much is the coffee." May said the bagels are around $1.40 something. I said okay now add a large coffee and that is my total. May flicked her hand at me and said, "just go!" May walked off. I was shocked at what had just transpired. I could not believe that your employee, May, had just accused me of stealing coffee without taking any steps to verify such. I asked for a refund. May had walked off to the side and exited through a side door. The other employees just stood and looked at me. I asked to speak to a manager once I realized May had dismissed the situation. The the other employees said, she is the manager. I said, tell her I would like a refund. One of the employees pointed her finger in the direction of the registers indicating that May was at the register assisting another customer. May clearly walked through the kitchen and reentered the Cafe front through another door. Still in shock, I decided to start recording the issue via LIVE streaming to Facebook as I walked to the checkout line, stood in line to wait my turn, after fully paying for my order only to be accused of STEALING COFFEE, to request a refund. When it was my turn to be serviced by May, she said refund? I said yes. May processed the refund for 3 bagels and a coffee and placed my receipt on the counter. May did not apologize. I exited the Cafe. Upon close review while still on the premises of the Cafe, I realized that May did not refund me the correct amount. She refunded me for 3 bagels and a medium coffee. I paid for a large. I returned to the Cafe to request that my receipt be corrected. The LIVE videos capture a glimpse of what transpired. Now, I am appalled to put it mildly at this outright show of DISCRIMINATION. There are several points throughout this whole ordeal in which your representative, May, failed me, a paying customer. She stereotyped me, she insulted me, she embarrassed me and she victimized me. I am left to ask, if I was a middle-aged white woman, would May have questioned my coffee purchase without verifying as such? I think it is safe to say that she would not have. May clearly believes that she can say and do whatever she chooses to do while working in your establishment. May never took responsibility for her actions. May never at any point verified my coffee purchase. May anchored down in her belief that I stole a cup of coffee and was glad to have me take a refund and get out of the Cafe! May had a second opportunity to take responsibility for her actions but May opted not too. Upon my return to get the refund corrected, May once again never took responsibility. May never apologized. May continued to walk away holding firm to her belief that I STOLE a cup of coffee! This is DISCRIMINATION. May should be terminated immediately. I hope that one one else has to be demoralized by May, an employee of your brand, Panera Bread. I expect someone from Panera Bread Corporate office to contact me immediately to discuss this matter. read more
