One of the better Panera Breads I've been to in awhile. The tables are a little cramped and there isn't a lot of dining area, but there is a lot of parking in the nearby shopping center. The food is your typical corporate-standard for Panera. The staff was very hit-or-miss, but overall, it wasn't a bad experience. It was clear watching the manager try to take control of the prep area as people waited for their food that he had no control of his staff at all as they bickered back and forth. read more

This is a great Panera. I just wish is wasn't in the wacky Riverdale road location. Its very difficult to get out of this location. It has a great fireplace! Since it is now cold outside, a lovely fireplace makes my day. I have been here a few times since moving back in the area. I am a creature of habit and usually only order broccoli and cheese soup with a baguette. Last week I had another flu. So I decided to try their chicken noodle soup. Wow it was amazing! Even being as sick as I was I could tell how awesome this soup was. I had them make it hotter, so I could take it home. It was a pleasant experience! read more

Placed a order for 85 people online late on a Friday night for pickup at 7:30 on a Sunday morning for a day after wedding brunch for all the out of town guests (it was a destination wedding to nowhere so everyone had to spend a ton of money to attend). Every thing was ready as requested on time, well organized and the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating helping to wheel the order out on a cart and load my car. Kudos Panera! read more

Great atmosphere made complete with a beautiful fireplace. Although it is the middle of summer, I can very well see myself here in the winter costing up next to the fireplace and my delicious cappuccino and feta-sundries -tomato egg soufflés. First of all, let me start by saying I love the Panera chain in general. I am a big fan of their great salads, awesome soups and tasty sandwiches. I was beyond excited when the Riverdale Panera opened. I live right in town so I go there a lot. But this place has the most inconsistent service I have ever experienced at an eating establishment. At first when it opened several years ago, the service was very poor but we were patient because the staff was new along with the location. It's been 2+ years now and the service is still hit n miss. ie. Last week my husband went to pick up a 'take out' order and bought home two bags, one with half of our order, and the other bag with someone else's order! Today I went to 'eat in' and half our party got their pastries straight away while my son and I waited 10 mts for our order before I went to check on it...seems it never made it to the kitchen. They apologized profusely but it was so frustrating! So I'm not warning people not to go this chain, just to be verrrrrry careful with your order, check it before you leave the store and be proactive about getting our eat in order. And if you have the time and inclination, try to go to the EL, Chicopee or Hadley Panera. read more

Great location in a shopping center filled with all you need. Good and efficient service, the line was being serviced quickly, and food came out quick. Turkey avocado sandwich was quite good, although I would skip the bacon next time, since it's not cooked crispy (personal preference). Hot tea was good and selection is behind the counter unlike most Panera locations. Not as much space to dine in as other locations, filled up during morning weekend rush. As always, wish there were more seats near outlets for us on the road workers! read more

I've been a Panera customer for over 10 years and frequent it at least weekly so I feel that I have a pretty good gauge on what their products are supposed to taste like. So here's my review of this location that I visited this morning while on vacation. Let me begin with what I didn't like. The service was slow. It took over ten minutes for us to get our breakfast sandwiches. The dark roast coffee tasted watered down. We requested fresh coffee but it didn't make any difference. The Assistant Manager did not seem friendly at all; she actually looked as if she did not enjoy working there. She would also benefit from dressing more like a manager: her clothes looked worn, old, and a little dirty. Now the positives... The breakfast sandwiches and the pecan roll that we ordered tasted fresh and met our expectations. read more

The food is really good and up to the usual Panera standards. Parking is plentiful because this location is in the Riverdale shopping area, which makes it a great choice if you're out shopping. My one problem with this location is that it doesn't seem to have enough seating to handle the crowds during the busiest parts of the day. This is a location where a lot of people, especially a lot of families and groups, choose to eat-in at the restaurant so it'd be very helpful to have additional seating. The servers here are truly lovely. Things go wrong and people make mistakes, but I have never had a bad experience at this particular Panera as the staff are extremely polite and willing to help. The food is exactly what you would expect from this franchise and no more, but certainly no less, either. The restaurant is very well maintained and staff as well maintain a clean, hygienic appearance whilst retaining individuality. Every time I come to this establishment, they have the most careless, unprofessional service. They mess up my drink, I calmly point it out to the worker who gave it to me. She looks annoyed with me as if it was my fault. Gets me a new one and that one is even worse than the first one. I try to tell her and she talks to me like I'm blind and stupid. I explain to her, my sticker says extra drizzle, there is absolutely no drizzle and she tells me, "oh it's in there, they mix it in the blender." Now I feel my intelligence being insulted because I KNOW that's not how the drink it done. How dare they mess up my order twice and then try to act like I'm the clueless one. Anyway, she proceeds to mutter things under her mask and turn around and completely ignore me. I said some choice words and left. I honestly don't think management even cares about their poor service because everyone complains about them but there is no change being done. read more

I love this Panera, the food is great. I usually order the cheddar broccoli soup with bread which tastes pretty good. Also their bear claw and cookies are tasty too. For drinks they have a delicious iced green tea that I like to mix with lemonade. Basically they have numerous yummy options to choose from. Staff seems to be doing a great job always busy either taking orders or cleaning tables although many times the tables have crumbs, it is understandable though due to so many customers. read more

We get to this panera bread "organization" a few minutes before breakfast officially ends (I understand that all good things in life, including breakfast must come to an end). There is however a long line, giving our small group ample time to make our selections from the menu. However, upon arrival to the cashier, we are informed that breakfast is no longer being served. It is now 11:02. 2 minutes after 11:00 and they completely lack the ability and wherewithal to produce oatmeal. The cashier is completely unsympathetic. At all other paneras I've ever been to have been willing to extend breakfast to an individual trapped in a long line at least five minutes or so. This place is absolutely inflexible and entirely unsympathetic apparently as a matter of policy. I doubt the cashier himself personally cared to destroy our breakfast plans, but whatever manager on duty was too concerned with enforcing their rigid rule system. I can only imagine what this place's response would be to a more serious costumer service issue but I also don't want to imagine as it would be assumably terrible. I suggest local patrons to drive a little further to other locations and avoid this place. read more

I went in and ordered the Greek Salad I had been dreaming about for about 2 hours only for the girl to tell me that they ran out of chicken. *gasp* I decide to continue and ask for cucumbers instead of onions and if she'd be willing to do so without charge because they had no chicken. I have to admit I was a little frustrated at first when I came in to pick up my orders. Young staff did not even acknowledge I was stand directly in front of them at the "pick-up" counter. Once I requested some attention I received limited information regarding where I would be able to pick-up my order. I stopped at the next cash register in the general direction the young lady pointed only to be told I needed to go to the bookcase by the front door. Nothing was on the bookcase so I approached a VERY helpful young lady who found my very large orders and helped me bring them to the car and load into my vehicle. The food was excellent, my staff very impressed having something different then pizza! Salad appealing, sandwiches fresh and huge. Yummy French bread came with the salad and oh the cookies! Great to have all the utensils needed supplied. I will definitely have Panera cater my next business and personal celebration! read more

Panera Bread, while a large chain, manages to do things right. I frequent the Riverdale location frequently, and the service is always friendly and fast, the place clean, and the food quite tasty. The cheddar broccholi soup is a huge highlight for me, as is the asiago roast beef sandwich. A simple, yet effective added touch is having the choice of chips, bread, or an apple as a side. I got a Greek salad from them today at this location and just ate it for dinner. I've got to say its one of the best Greek salads I've ever had. they really know how to put together a salad with just the right amount of the ingredients. they do not hold back on anything. best price too being under $7 for a Greek salad. only mistake is they added chicken when i hadn't asked for it but i didn't mind it considering it was extra for chicken and i got it free. but they may have me sold. because of this accident they've actually convinced me to get a Greek salad with chicken next time. read more
