Disappointing... That's the only clean word that comes to mind. Ate at Panera today and ordered the 1/2 sandwich (Chicken BBQ) and Wild Rice Soup. The sandwich was ALL bread, BBQ sauce and VERY VERY VERY little shred chicken. If there was an ounce on the sandwich, I'd be surprised. Since I was eating with people, I didn't want to mention it to management. The Wild Rice soup was also more broth than anything. For the price they charge... or any price at all for that matter... this was a total rip-off. I haven't been to Panera for months, and now I remember why. The only positive was that the restaurant was clean and the cashier personable. Service wise on food delivery... slow... but it was noon-ish. read more

So I came here to have a sweet treat and hot beverage today just to get out. I ordered a cinnamon roll and hot chocolate for DINE IN. I got a cold cinnamon roll in a paper to go box and a hot chocolate in a to go cup. Isn't it customary to get a pastry heated? Did I need to specify this? Why the paper crap for a dine in order?!? This is the second time I've been to this location, the first I ordered a bowl of soup and half sandwich and both were super small. You'd think for $17 if get a true bowl and half sandwich. It is truly amazing that they can charge $9 for a half order of plain Caesar salad, and it is about the size of a small fist. When I called to express my disbelief over that (was a delivery), all I got for an answer was "we have to pre-measure our salads" and "that small amount is the right measure". I hadn't been in a Panera in a few years...but this one is probably one of the cleanest, friendliest, and provided such great service. We were just driving through on a long road trip, and didn't want to get fast food...this establishment popped up on our GPS. I ordered the Chicken Frontega, and it tasted a lot different than when I remembered it. It wasn't bad, just different. It was a panini back when I use to order it, but tonight it was served on a super fresh toasted baguette. I recall the flavor being more savory, but there was still a lot of fresh pulled chicken and tomato and cheese. Served quick and hot. Got exactly what I needed without having to consume fatty fast food. And yes, the young lady that took my order was so sweet- very friendly and all smiles. The cafe was very clean- I actually saw another worker picking up some small pieces of trash on the floor while walking by on her way to do another part of her job. Good job Panera! read more

Visited this store this afternoon and was very disappointed. Ordered a half sandwich and bowl of mac and cheese and waited over 20 minutes only for my mac and cheese to be ice cold as if it was fresh out of a freezer. Was met with the option to heat it up myself in the store's microwave. You'd think after waiting over 20 minutes my food would've been served to me warmed up and I wouldn't have to do the job of the workers myself. We ordered curbside pick-up today at this location for a large workplace celebration. Everything was packed and labeled perfectly which made for a very easy distribution process. There were plenty of utensils and napkins included as well. The food was all very, very delicious and very fresh. We ordered bagel stacks (excellent!), salads with baguettes, hot and cold sandwiches with chips and a few of the value combos with soup. The employee who brought the food to the car was efficient and kind. Definitely will use this service and location again. Thank you Panera! read more

Although this location used to be awesome, the last few visits have just been weirdly disappointing (see the fork/soup pic to start). They were out of medium cups, mozzarella for the capresee salad, orange San Pellegrino ( which I only picked because it was on the menu), and I got a thick partial portion of rice soup that was the last of the batch. They also forgot to ask what side we wanted, and I forgot it is bread as a default, so I had to be irritating and ask for chips. I felt like "that person "at the counter trying to order. Nothing was working. If I wrote this review last year, it would've been a completely different story about well-trained, informative servers who are confident about their jobs. 2.5 stars due to salt but 3 because manager fixed problem very nicely. Staff and environment are efficient but I've been in general unhappy with my recent Panera experiences. I love that they have become more transparent with calorie counts, etc. However, sodium and prices keep seeming to rise lately at Panera's. I recently stopped in before class (trying to avoid fast food) and spent $14.76 for one of my saltiest meals ever. It was their Thai noodle combination. For some reason Panera seems to think Asian food means salty sauces. Some of their clean eating bowls are fantastic, but again.....so very high in sodium. Lately Panera's seems to want to leave customers panting for water. I hope they consider tweaking some of these 'healthier' options. read more

I stopped by Panera in Enfield, CT, Yesterday. I ordered a Caesar salad and a Diet Pepsi. After ordering at the kiosk, I went to a table to sanitize my hands. I am not a fan of kiosks for sanitary reasons. I picked up my drink glass and got my Pepsi with no problem, but then I had to walk to the other end of the good-sized franchise to pick up my salad. After walking back to the kiosk area and getting seated again, I realized that I was not provided butter for the bread that came with the salad. So I walked back to the food pick-up counter and asked for butter. I was given three very hard and small pieces of butter in plastic containers to take back to where I was sitting. Finally, I was prepared to eat! Eating my Caesar salad was uneventful. The salad was small but fine. Buttering the bread required some effort since the butter was so hard. The cost of my salad and drink was $16.40, including tax. My overall take on this lunch was that it took a lot of work to get a salad and drink. I found that the Caesar and Pepsi failed to provide $16.40 of value to me, especially given the effort I had to put into getting a quick lunch. Obviously I will not be returning to Panera. I picked up my order, returned to work, and when the bag was opened, the 2 bagels were found just thrown in the bag with sides of butter! They weren't in wrappers like usual, no butter added to the bagels, but I had seen my instructions clearly on the receipt. I ordered the Cinn. Chilly today so it's a soup and sandwich day and we gave the nod to this place. I purchased a bowl of corn chowder with a grilled cheese and for the missus she had a Ceasars salad and the broccoli and cheddar soup. We plopped down in front of the fire they had going in the fireplace and enjoyed our meals. The soups were great as was her salad, but the grilled cheese I wouldn't get again. I don't even think it was grilled and the bread was a little too thick. Nice atmosphere and close to spotless and the staff was great. Parking was kind of a bear as the plaza was very busy. This Panera was an extreme disappointment. The portions were offensive, with roughly a dozen grains of quinoa in a rice/quinoa bowl. There were truly only four spoonfuls worth of food for a $12 dish. I don't want to blame the establishment, but JAB Holdings, the owner of Panera along with hundreds of other chains, has clearly gutted this place. Needless to say, I won't be coming back. I've been in here a few times lately and the sandwiches are soggy, with the ends of the loaf and the part of the ingredients you generally don't eat (stem of a tomato, for example). Panera Bread annoys me, so I only stop by infrequently. It's not just this location. It's Panera in general. I find them to be somewhat over-priced for what they offer. The atmosphere isn't terribly warm and inviting. While I understand why they want to limit WiFi, it just rubs me the wrong way. And I'm aware of at least one Panera where they removed wall outlets. While I've never camped out for a day at a Panera nor do I have that desire, it just sends a negative message. All of these things together make me consider other options before Panera. read more
