I love Panini Sandwiches--so decided to stop in at this particular chain--to my dismay--no Panini Sandwiches. I settled on a BLT Roast Turkey Avocado. The bread was good, but not sauced enough on both sides for my taste. I asked and got additional mayo which helped. I also added a cup of Thai Chicken Soup which arrived lukewarm. Despite all, the taste and ingredients were fresh. The pricing is above average with plenty of parking during the 1-2 PM hour. I went in for lunch and waited for 25-30 minutes for 2 soups and a grilled cheese sandwiches, they were busy but I think thats insane for premade soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. Then I went to order a salad to go and they were "out of strawberries" and almost immediately after I saw a employee holding 3 containers of strawberries so I politely asked how long it would take for them to prep them so that I could have strawberries on the salad. The workers were not being respectful at all and looked at me and said "Ill go cut you 2 strawberries" with a rude smirk. One of my fav coffee stops. I prefer their Hazlenut, with half & half and 2 or 3 sugars, depending which size I get. And yeah, I go inside and mix it myself. (hey, I'm like that.) Not sure why no one has come back to review Panera Bread after so many years. This location was good. Service was nice and timely. This location was clean and seating was nicely spaced out. Spring 2022: the menu changed and there was not a food dish other than a salad for vegan/plant base. I was not hungry for a plain salad or just bread alone and opted for a smoothie. My friend had the bear claw dessert. My smoothie came to $6.99 after gratuity. It tasted delicious. Not sure if I would come back to Panera to eat because there are not options I'm wanting anymore now that they took out the 10 bean soup. Overall it was ok. read more

But you can almost guarantee with this location that your order will be wrong. One order was two bread bowls with soup. Get home and both bread bowls are missing. It was just sitting at the store when I called an hour later, with no driver assigned to pick it up. This has happened to us 2x now... very frustrating. When I returned later for a refund, the manager or supervisor in charge came over, didn't even look at me, and walked away before the transaction was done. Maybe ask your customers what happened in order to avoid future mistakes? Maybe acknowledge your customers at all? The food I did receive was awful: mac was cold, salad container half full and wilted, little to no grains in a grain salad option. I waited 45 minutes in the drive through. 45 minutes! There were only 6 cars in front of me. I understand this is ridiculous in my part for not leaving the line but my daughter was sick and all she wanted was Panera Mac. This isn't an isolated incident at this location either. I've waited 10-15 minutes behind 1-2 cars on multiple occasions. If they can't hire enough staff to support the restaurant and drive through then they just need to close one or the other. Came here at 10 AM on Friday. Bakery items were still available along with a couple of breakfast soufflés. What I ordered: Spinach, bacon and cheese souffle. My favorite breakfast item to order. Flaky pastry crust and toppings inside. Asiago bagel with cream cheese - love the baked cheese on top. Sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. Sandwich is grilled and delicious. I have gone to this Panera a lot -- it's close to where I work, so it's convenient. Perhaps it's the post Covid worker shortage, but there is a significant percentage of employees here that simply aren't confident (trained to listen!) with their jobs. The newest, greenest, SLOWEST team members seem to be assigned to the register. Ringing up an order - no problem. If, however, the order includes a pastry item (apparently within the domain of the register area) thing go off the rails. It literally turns in to a slow motion movie. They must leave the register and wonder (aimlessly, with confusion) into the "world of food". It took me 15 mins to get a cinnamon roll! And I was second in line. OMG! Or, another time, I said I was ordering to dine in -- with a dumbfounded, slow, and confused look, she proceeded to nope around figuring how to box up the item -- which she did. Well my son and I ditched on our taxes meeting for a muffin top and a major large lemonade! The staff was super nice and the prices were right! I have always liked Panera, I dig the vegan black bean soup with bread bowl, but I had already ate lunch so I was just feeding my child, naturally I picked a pumpkin muffin topping with powdered sugar on top! Nice Panera with a great location! My new drink of choice here is the iced coffee ! They have the iced coffee available next to the hot coffee in the dining area! They literally give you a cup and you fill it with ice. Then you become the barista and make your iced coffee how you want it! Refills are free!! I also of course love the food here! My favs are the Asian sesame chicken salad, Napa chicken salad on foccasia or croissant, and the turkey bravo. read more

I got home a couple of weeks ago to discover that all the egg and cheese sandwiches I just bought were missing a key ingredient - the eggs. I picked up the phone and asked for the manager. After waiting about 13 minutes, Adam, the manager on duty, came on the line and I explained the situation. Adam never apologized or even acknowledged that they made a mistake, inconvenienced us or ruined breakfast. In fact, Adam made it pretty clear that they were busy and he didn't have a lot of time for this conversation. Adam said they'd be happy to make new sandwiches if I wanted to come back to the store. When I explained the distance, he said that was his only option. If you don't know -- Panera delivers. But Waukee was too far away. Not too far away for me to drive back, but too far away for him to send someone out. After I said I did not want to drive all the way back, there was silence. I was expecting him to offer up some alternatives, but he didn't. Finally, I started problem-solving for him and came up with options. Me: Can you just put a refund on my credit card? Adam: No. Our machines aren't set up to do that. Me: Can you mail me a gift card for the amount? Adam: No. I can't do that. Me: Well Adam, what can you do? I went with a friend to dine in and after waiting over half an hour, finally had to go to the counter and ask them to make it to go as I was out of time and had to be back to work. I've been to Panera Breads all over the country and this is the same as everywhere else. Good food, friendly staff, great environment for studying, talking, and just relaxing. This place is usually busy when I go, nothing too crazy though. This is one of the first times I came for breakfast, it was around 8am and they only had a couple of bagels available. I was surprised they were out of a majority of bagels that early in the morning, and also they don't serve much of their menu until 10:30am. read more
