Quite possibly the worst experience I've had at a Panera and I've been to many in South & Northern California. Technically I went out of my way to go to this one, as I'm currently stuck in the even shittier town south (Fairfield) and most stores in this town are a bit nicer. Not the case here. I spent a good 8 mos where I ate 2-3 meals a day at work and @ home (Huntington Beach CA & Costa Mesa CA) so I've been a good customer. And you guys are usually close to flawless in making sure the details are right. Everything about this experience was wrong. I placed an order online so I would have food after work and for the next cpl of intense days @work and cookie smiles for co-workers. Cookies boost morale. Placed this order w/the app as I had so many times before. Baby boomers may not understand but I do this for many reasons and no I don't want to take your call about this order to confirm what is already confirmed. Typically means I wouldn't have to call-in or worry if they heard me or received my order. Guess this manager doesn't understand this concept nor the fact that these internet orders are just as valid and important as walk-ins. Listen, ma'am. If my credit card is charged to your store the nearly $50 on this date and time, I bought those cookies. Walk in and not only is my order admittedly several hours past 1530 but didn't expect anything to be still warm. It was a good 30 before closing as well so they wouldn't be scrambling to make my drink, which typically they'll re-make it for me if I'm late but they actually completely forgot my drink now that I think of it. So no food ready, there is no one who seems like they've heard of me nor this larger order. Umm... manager comes out and says "We didn't know if it was valid bc we *called* you twice and couldn't get thru." Duude. I didn't have the time to deal w this when there are pilots and aircraft and crew and passengers relying on me. Yes, some ppl are actually too engaged and care about their work nor get breaks long and casual enough to tweet throughout the day. I barely have time to pee some days and that's okay because I love what I do. Was supposed to be able to send someone to pickup around 1530/1600 and figured, hey worst case scenario the drink is cold and Mac & cheese no longer warm. We have a microwave at our disposal. Not only did they not make any of the major items in the order, the manager says to me "I don't have any of these cookies left. I sold them all b/c I didnt know if you were coming in." Lady, as I said. I bought those cookies! If I had opted to let you assemble that order only to have it sit there til close and not have me show, I paid for you to let it go to waste. You can't sell something I already bought. I couldn't believe her either. The attitude was of arrogance and total disregard. "So I'm just going to throw in whatever I have left to sub for these pastries." I wasn't okay with this. Typically I am very accommodating. I don't like to complain and I will always endorse wherein deserved. I can't believe this attitude she has and will never go to her store again. I don't blame her employees, it was her. I am hesitant to go back to any Panera after this experience and you guys have kept this picky vegetarian sustained throughout some very long days and nights, all over California and for years. read more

The staff at vallejo Panera is so rude all these young people they have working at this place are very unprofessional what happened to old crew We where with my husband at drive through a lady got on the intercom and stated I'll be with soon the head set was left on we can hear their bad language talking mess about customers, my husband waited like 3 min and he says hello can I order the same lady comes back on the intercom and says , I said I will be with you soon fast forward 5min waiting at the intercom to order she finally gets to taking our order I love the baguette I always order one fast forward again we pull up to get the food my baguette is sliced in pieces in a plastic bag I said excuse me I did not want my bread in tiny rounds the lady said well it's sliced already I said I don't want it well we can't take it back she says. I go to Panera twice a week for the coffee. Currently, they have a bargain for coffee that can't be beat. The coffee isn't amazing, but its good. The food is decent. However, they are frequently out of items. Their app, or at least their management of the app, is horrible. One day I found myself with no cash or credit card. I did, however, have a credit card attached to their app. I saw 20+ soufflés ready for purchase in the display. I tried to order one thru the app, but the app said they were out of them. I showed that to the clerk. She said that they were "concerned" that someone might order food on the app and it not be available in the store. What?! What about someone inside your store who cannot order the food right in front of him?! Unfortunately, I had to leave the store hungry. read more

Listen. Lemme tell you something. I have been coming to this establishment for about seven years. When I tell you I wish, I wish I could take this Panera location and bring it with me everywhere. I am one of those customers who is extremely, extremely, ridiculously, annoyingly, picky. However, I will send in my special instructions for my order and they execute it to perfection. They even ask me, if it tastes good/tight. I think they put magic in those sandwiches because they are always consistently done well. And as we all know associates come and go so the Regional Director, Manager, and the ENTIRE staff are doing one helluva job! Do they have problems at times of course, do they make mistakes on orders of course. But ain't nobody gonna die if they forgot to put mustard on your sandwich (one type of the annoying complaints that I had to unlearn‍)! I usually go into Panera in the morning at least once a week, and there is always a beautiful young cashier who is very helpful and sweet.

ive eaten here before, and it was delicious. everything is usually really good. however, i guess there has been some slack a$$ employees. i paid 10$ for half a sandwich, and it looks disgusting. i have had this sandwich before and it was delicious, looked really good too. this is NOT doordash fault, its paneras. like do people not have integrity in their work anymore? i got the caprese sandwich. look at this picture and tell me you would want to digest that in your body. it just looks so slack. i think this panera is good at making good food, but today it was off. the sandwich had these weak ahh lettuce, nasty tomatoes, it did have the mozzarella, definitely had no balsamic, and looked disgusting and dry. i have had this sandwich before so i know how its supposed to look and taste. the sandwich was disgusting. if they are out of the ingredients to make the sandwich okay understandable, you could contact the doordasher to let me know if i could do a substitute or something. i attached the picture. im just disappointed. i hate to be a karen but i took a bite to see if it just looked horrible but tasted good, and now i wanna throw up. i would expect this from subway not panera. read more

I ordered online last week for my husband to pick up. Order consisted of: Chicken noodle soup -for sick kid. Cesar salad. Macaroni and cheese with bacon 2 cinnamon crunch bagels. So we didn't get the bagels, so the accuracy rate is a solid 60%. Then I call, no answer. Then I use their online customer service. They graciously offered me a $10 gift card. Not so gracious when you figure I paid 5.58 (not including tax), for the bagels I didn't get, and had to send husband back out to the supermarket to get bagels. That was about $4.00. First time ever at Panera. I ordered a a roasted turkey and avocado BLT, waited about 20 mins. When I got the sandwich it was on the smaller side, overflowing with mayonnaise and very little turkey... it looked like somebody put not much effort into making this sandwich. After I wiped off some of the mayonnaise I took a bite and the bread immediately fell apart and had no flavor. for the $13, I felt ripped off and probably won't be back for that price. read more

Friendly and fast. We stopped on our way out of town to babysit our grandson in the Bay Area. I ordered a half Steak Sandwich with everything and my wife ordered s Chicken Salad. When I opened the sandwich box I was sorely disappointed. I found scraps of beef, a small pink slice of something and a tiny spot of horseradish. The flavor was good but I've had more meat on an hors d'oeuvre. It was just a waste of money and with all of the competition in Vacaville, I'd strongly suggest going somewhere else. One of the things with Panera Bread is that even for having the same menu, the stores are pretty hit-and-miss. One nice thing was that the order-taker was fast and friendly - my order didn't take too long and was accurate when it came out. The folks delivering food were okay - not too friendly, but they were busy at the time. The things that disappointed me about this location was the cleanliness and location. This store was pretty unclean - so much so that it was difficult to find a clean table. Also, there were flies all over - while I understand you're going to have them in some restaurants, it did not look like an effort was put in to trap them. Also, floors were sticky. The location itself is a pain to get in and out of - it's at the old Nut Tree, which is a pain in and of itself. I'll probably be coming back to this store, as I have family members that love Panera, however, it's not a personal favorite. read more

Great place to eat, relax and recharge. This is a stop for us when traveling from Northern California to and from the Bay Area. The food is as good as all the other Panera Bread but this visit, I want to highlight one of their workers. I wish I got his name but I wasn't able to. We ordered the Fuji apple salad and the persons preparing got our order wrong. The worker went out of his way to ensure we were taken cared of by ensuring the salads were changed to the appropriate order. I realize that as a worker or manager he did what he was supposed to do but there was just something very friendly about him that we really appreciated. The 4 stars above is for this worker who in my opinion represented Panera Bread with excellence. read more

Not a Panera fan because I find it to be pricey for what you get but went with some friends who chose this place. This location is super busy and super small. We had to wait for some people to get up to find a table. I ordered the Thai won ton soup and god it was AWFUL. You'd think for almost $10 that you would get more than 5 won-tons that had a lot of ginger in them. Ginger makes me seriously gag so I couldn't eat it. I asked for a swap with the tomato soup and they did. Was afraid it wouldn't be enough so I also ordered a half a sandwich and it was good. But overall for my $15 , I left feeling hungry and unsatisfied. I am sure their breads and pastries are good but I have changed to a low carb. eating that it can't be a destination. It's been almost 2 months since Panera's cream cheese recall due to listeria concerns, and they're still not serving ANY of their Panera-brand cream cheese. They have some generic stuff, but it's not as good and if you order via the app or the kiosks, no cream cheese is available at all. When bagels are one of your staples, this seems like something you'd want to remedy. So here I am, waiting for refrigerated butter to melt onto my cold "toasted" bagel. I went in for a breakfast sandwich on 2/28/2019 for the first time to try it. So for around seven dollars with water I received a 1/2 sandwich with a sunny side up egg. They did not ask me how I wanted the egg. As the egg yolk ran all down my fingers with my first bite I realized that I was not impressed with the overall flavor of the sandwich which I felt was "bland". The bread was chewy and seemed healthy. After eating I needed to visit the Men's room to wash the egg yolk off my hands. There was a tangled heap of paper towels on the floor as high as the counter being deposited from the malfunctioning dispenser. Will I go back? mmmmm not in a big hurry. There are bugs crawling all over the pastries and cookies. I went to buy a 2nd cookie and noticed them crawling and flying over many of them sugary treats. I went to Panera Bread in the Nut Tree Village for a business meeting. Customers order and pay at the counter, take a number and choose a seat. A server will bring your order promptly to your table. The service is extremely quick, and food was okay. I got the 2 item lunch combo with half a sandwich and a cup of Tomato soup. My soup was a little bit cold, and the half sandwich was kinda small compared to my other Panera Bread experiences.. I wasn't very impressed with the bread considering "Bread" is in the company name. The best thing about this place is the casual, comfortable seating, easy parking, quick service and free WiFi. This place makes an ideal place to have a casual business lunch or study spot for students. I don't think I would come here otherwise as the food is mediocre (typical chain soup, salad, and sandwich joint) and the prices are slightly more than I'd prefer to pay for the quality (lunches are around $10). read more

Well, that phase of over indulging at this place will leave you broke, as well as the impression that you care about eating healthy while you stab at your half sandwich/ half salad plat that cost $10. You know, they opened a Subway in that shopping center? Note-To-You: Five dollar foot long!! I have a quaint feeling that some of their customers go here for the experience rather then the food. This is strictly based on the people who pack up to go orders, and deal with catering. I have placed three orders in the last three weeks. They have gotten something wrong EVERY SINGLE TIME. The first no biggie, just left things on three of the sandwiches that we asked them not to (mayo, tomatoes, avocado for the person with allergies). The second, an entire sandwich (which they did deliver, and brought a pastry ring as an apology). Part of the issue this time is that I called literally for two hours trying to get someone on the line, and never actually did. I ended up finding out by calling a family member who works in Fairfield that I could order online if it was a certain amount, which I did. BTW, I still had to call three times before getting through to get the missing sandwich resolved. The third, today. picked up a large catering order, and paid separately for some addtional items. They got the catering order right, but completely left off one of the items paid for, which wasn't discovered until we got back. The person who ordered it just asked for the money back, and the store manager was happy to do so, but I just don't understand why they can't seem to get larger (anything other than two items) correct. For a store that advertises catering, they can't seem to get it right. I don't understand why it's so hard. I've complained to corporate already, and they have yet to get back to me, but they've lost my recommendation. You would think with the new Boudin across the street, they'd realize that they are not the only game in town, and that they should step up their game, but nope. Hasn't happened yet. I will now steer whatever meetings that involve catering towards Boudin, instead of the weekly call for Panera, simply because I'm tired of the incorrect orders.
