Not bad, first time eating there in side for lunch. This one in Vacaville is very small n gets crowded. The way the seating is not the best & very tight & hard to move around, wasnt very good with having all of my kids & an infant car seat.The one in Fairfield one is much bigger & seen more like a restaurant. I did like their food & the bagels & pastry is really good. I had the salad with salmon it was pretty good. My kids had the chili & soup they loved it. I am not a giant fan of the food here, but the bread is excellent. I like their bagels a lot. The prices are a little more than I'd like so I don't really eat there. What IS awesome is the staff. Except for one guy, everyone there was nice and very friendly. My friend and I went to use their free WiFi, and we ended up being there for almost 3 hours. In fact, we were there past closing, but the staff didn't kick us out. They weren't even rushing us, instead they told us to take our time. That was pretty awesome. It's pretty chilly there, though, so bring a jacket. The manager said their AC isn't really programmable so it's always cold there. Weird. But I will definitely be back! Went on a Thursday at 2 pm. Should be fast service but no. Took 26 minutes to receive a half sandwich half salad and Mac and cheese. I ordered on the tablet which seemed quick and easy but does the order get lost along the way? No because I watched people order on there after me walk in and walk out. The food was ok and fresh tasting so I give it 2 stars but service lost 3 stars and I don't plan to be back. Panera is a chain. Like all chains its about striking at the right time and getting the right thing. This place can be crowded and busy, so if you can, come on off hours. Also the line to order could use some help. Me and the bf were waiting for a hostess to be available and someone walked right around us and went to someone that was busy! Oh well. I would skip the paninis and go for the 1/2 and 1/2. Favs are bacon turkey bravo and the chicken salad or the "harvest" salad ( don't eat the mushy pears). My bf favors their breakfast sandwiches and french onion soup. Also the bagels are good and the "cobblestone" which is like a huge sticky cinnabun with frosting and raisins is good if you like that kind of thing (I do). Fast food masquerading as local, fresh and home made. Why did we eat lunch here? Because it was 11 am, we needed to be in Sacramento for a business mtg at 12:30, and Panera Bread was open. The restaurant is large, clean and nicely designed. There are plenty of choices from sandwiches and salads to soups and desserts. We arrived long before the lunch rush which made ordering fast and easy. People behind the counter were friendly. The food arrived at our table within 2 minutes of ordering. THAT was the first hint that everything was pre-made. I ordered the Thai salad. It had a little spice to it - that was nice! But otherwise, unimpressive. PB in Vacaville is busy every time we come here. That said it is pretty reliable quality wise. They have great soups, salads, bakery items and sandwiches. Tons of variety. Make sure to grab a mini menu at the back of the line and know what you want because you don't want to have to get back in line. Also,get your to go utensils before leaving if it is a to go order as they often forget what you need i.e knife, fork Employees move you through pretty quickly, almost too quickly, but it is good considering the crowds. The cafe atmosphere is nice. The dining area is rather large and pretty clean for being in the city of outlets with large amounts of people going through. Patio area too. The bagels & flavored cream cheese spreads are delicious. I love the french toast bagel with hazelnut cream cheese or cinnamon crunch bagel or...well you get the point. I like their bagels. But, we stopped for breakfast last weekend & were very disappointed with the size of their breakfast sandwiches. They were a joke! Seriously so disappointed. I've eaten at Paneras all over the country, but my experience today at this location was terrible. I ordered a you pick two, with broccoli cheddar soup and a frontega chicken panini, hold the onions & tomatoes. My total? $15! The drink I purchased which was no bigger than a toothpaste tube was $6! I guess I should have asked before I was rung up. Anyway, after about 15 minutes of waiting for my to go order I finally get it & head home. The broccoli cheddar soup tastes like they added onions to the recipe -- gross. And the sandwich -- burnt cheese on the ends, soggy bread, & there was a piece of chicken in the middle that wasn't even cooked!! And there was cheddar cheese on the sandwich, something that definitely hasn't been on there in past orders. And there was no Rosemary on it. Overall it just all tasted very cheap & fast food like. Currently in a love/hate relationship with Panera. The food is usually wonderful, but over the last year the service and food quality of this location has been abysmal. It's always a fight to the death for a table. The worst problem is having a million tables available, but all of them are dirty. After standing around looking like a lost child I found a clean table top, but apparently the staff here doesn't care about checking their floors and the one table available is on a garbage heap. I waited about 5-10 minutes for my food to come to the table. Sadly the soup was luke-warm like it has sat on the counter too long. (I got the broccoli cheddar, and the soup had large-ish chunks of partially unmelted cheese in it, Needless to say it was only mildly appetizing). In summary, unless management or staff are drastically recast I may wait a LONG while before I return to Panera. read more

Ended up just walking out and not ordering. They have their computers to order and let me tell you that in itself was frustrating. Finally get to where I need to pay, and the card reader wasn't even working. I'm pretty frustrated by this point. Not one employee even bothered to ask if I needed help. For some reason I thought it would be quiet on a Sunday afternoon it was raining however it was super busy but I was craving their mac and cheese so that's what brought me in I went in with my granddaughter and she got a kids grilled cheese I just wanted to say despite how super busy it was the guys really handled getting the orders I sat by where they did the pickup orders and the guys handled the stress very professionally and great customer service I got my order in a timely manner and one of the managers was super nice with getting my pastry. Meh.... I've eaten at a few Paneras and this one is probably one that I won't be going to again. Got there at about 6pm and half of the tables were dirty and not bussed yet. I can't say that it's the best deal for soup and a sandwich, but it's not exactly a dump either. The turkey artichoke with the french onion is a pretty good combination, and I like the all-you-can-drink tea machine too. I'm a frequent to this location and most of the time I order something from the breakfast selection. My favorite thing to do is to order a sandwich and customize it so that I can get my money's worth (because let's be real an egg sandwich should not cost $4.99). I have never been so disappointed in a sandwich. First, it didn't come on the bread on the menu (cranberry walnut wheat). I ordered the turkey bacon avocado. There was one measly slice of avocado, there was just one slice of bacon which was cold and had coagulation bacon grease Lal over it and the turkey was wadded up in a ball and slapped between soggy white(it may have been sourdough) bread.
