Always nice to find a Panera Bread for lunch. The salads were freshly prepared and the ingredients were tasty. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hot coffee is always good and we really enjoy it but the first cup is nearly always lukewarm warm. This was the case at this location and a staff member had to bring a newly brewed one from the back. I would expect during lunchtime that the coffee area would be better monitored but that is not typically the case. The dining area was clean and we enjoyed eating our lunch. It is annoying that employees on break are allowed to take a booth, leaving paying customers to hunt for a clean table. All in all, a good lunch and we will return, always hopeful for those continuous improvements that management can make to make dining in more pleasant experience. read more

I love this place. My husband took myself and my parents here on a Sunday after church. A yummy healthy and filling meal. I absolutely love the tomatoes soup and grilled toast. I have the benefit of the doubt but I was let down. I used to get the tortellini Alfredo but it got removed from the menu. So I opt for a half sandwich and soup. Today I ordered the turkey avocado BLT (bacon well done) and a broccoli shreds soup. The soup was good as always but of course it's just out the bag and in to the microwave. The bread was surprisingly good and edible. Most of the times is hard as a rock! But the sandwich was oh so disappointing. The bacon was not well done at all I took most of it out as it was chewy (yuck). The turkey looked like unseasoned chicken. It looked disgusting honestly. It did not looked cooked at all. I received just a small amount of soup (12 oz or less) called a "bowl"...chicken noodle is 95 % salt water broth ( I'd say 12 oz approx, generiously), teaspoon of noodles... a teaspoon of chopped up chicken.. they have put some sort bullion in salty water broth. I understand the need to thin the menu out with supply issues. No ham and Swiss o rye or.... But.... I wanted pastries. I usually go through the drive through, but I went inside for the first time in 2 years. I waited almost five minutes for some pastries and bagels. We have been coming here for a few months now and it has been on and off. By that, I mean that the food they serve can be decent for the price and then it isn't. I keep coming back because the first time I came here we got loaded sandwiches - and even though they are crazy expensive ($9.49 for a sandwich??), I thought it was okay given that breakfast is tough to find around here outside of donut shops and McD. The last three or dour times has been terrible. The sandwiches barely include anything but the price is still the same jacked up rip-off. So the food is always really great but this review is for customer service. Me, my wife, and my infant son came into eat and had a gift card. In the gift card envelope she put her money, her DL, and credit card. As we were leaving I accidentally threw it away. When we called asking them if they had found it, the manager answered and went to look on the table and then dig through the trash and found it. Anywhere else they would have not done that. Picking up a to go order and was watching cashier take a senior couple's order. They asked if coffee was fresh since last time in, it was old and terrible. The cashier just kind of muttered "I think so" and offered no apologies for last coffees. Rather that make an effort to check on freshness, just blew them off. Which seems to be the norm in most restaurants today. Is the market for help this poor with so many people without jobs ? At least accosting our politicians ! But shame on management for doing such a poor job of training this individual ! And we think these people really sanitize like is required. This place was great when I checked them out a few weeks ago! I know I have been to some Panera Bread locations in various other cities or maybe even airports, but this was my first time to try it in Tyler. The eating area is nice & roomy, it even has outdoor seating in a covered patio. And the restrooms have multiple stalls. Parking may be an issue, though. And the 9:00pm closing time may not be convenient for everyone. They have great menu variety, as well as plenty of vegetarian-friendly options. I also like their smoothies and desserts. I think I had some kind of veggie (& cheese) sandwich, a cookie, & a smoothie. They give you a little coaster-type pager for letting you know when your food is ready, but they also can take it to your table. There is also free wifi at this restaurant, & they even have a Panera app, where you can also order online. I hope to come back here sometime in the future! read more

It's okay for a pretend healthy fast food. It's your typical re-thermalized food that was prepared somewhere else. I asked what was in a particular salad, first person had no idea, the next person described the ingredients very poorly. I ended up trying one of their salads but had them hold some of the unknown toppings such as the dressing due to food allergies (if you don't know what's in it, then I'm not taking chances). I also mentioned no chips, I don't eat bread products. They got the salad mostly right, except that it came with a loaf of bread. What a waste, I didn't eat the bread, so it got thrown away. The chicken had no flavor, and overall, the salad just okay. I don't think the ingredients are quality at all. The coffee tasted awful. read more

I usually love Panera's bagels, but their Everything bagels this week were way too salty. Very disappointed. Also asked for a blueberry bagel and got a raisin instead. Cannot get sandwich orders right -- either they get it wrong at the register or get it wrong in the back. Sugar containers by coffee have packets with spilled coffee. My chips we're literally two huge chunks of chips stuck together.There was huge greasy handprint on the glass door upon entering. The restaurant itself was clean and quit which was wonderful. Until a young blonde girl working there started making dolphin sounds loud as hell, which then turned into some other animal sound. I have been coming to this place for years it's consistently good. I have been through the drive through and ate inside. The breakfast pastries are awesome. Coffee is great. Bagels are just like you like them and the lunch sandwiches are always my favorite and full of flavor. The only problem I have with it is that it usually takes a very long time to get the food out and it seems like they have a ton of workers and half the time most of them are not doing anything.
