First time visiting Panera bread. Wanted to try the new salads seen on social media. First: I Was greeted by a lady holding a broom in the lobby area, with a happy Thursday, welcome to Panera. And asked if I wanted to place my order on the kiosk. Transaction was smooth and she stood nearby if I needed help. Second, dining area nearly clean. Same lady, saw her name tag, Anna asked if she may take my beeper/pager number and check on my order. Shortly after, my meal was brought to me with a big smile. Eye contact says it all. She asked, if I needed butter, pepper, ice water and so on. After a few minutes and making her rounds, we chatted. And the end my tabled was cleared. And my water refilled. I am a regular at Panera Bread and also a member of the sips club. The last few times I have been there I have been duly impressed with an employee who works the seating area. Her name is Anna and she is pleasantly cleaning and making certain the cafe looks appealing to the patrons. What she does that is extraordinary is she offers to clear your plates, she notices if you appear to be waiting for your order and checks on it for you. She then brings it to you. She even offered to refill my coffee. Hubby stood there for a while thinking that the food wasn't ready yet until a worker asked if he needed help. Our order was sitting in the back. I placed an order through the drive through on 11/08.. I specifically asked not to have onions added to my sandwich and the employee stated NO ONIONS!!! The line went so slow, I thought I was sitting outside of MC Donald's!!! After leaving I started to consume my sandwich and noticed that I was eating onions! I immediately contacted a manager there onsite and explained that I told the employee that I didn't want any onions on my sandwich. About an hour later I ended up in the emergency room due to an allergic reaction to the onions. An incident report was created by the manager at the store and I was told that someone else would contact me. I was contacted by another manager from corporate " Cody" and he was basically just reaching out to say that for the inconvenience he was offering a $75.00 gift card!! There was no way that I would accept a gift card for more food from a restaurant that got me sick in the first place! How pathetic! He didn't take accountability for the actions of his staff !! I have medical bills, prescriptions and missed time from work due to their lack of communication with the kitchen and staff. Loss of wages and suffering. TLDR: Mother is hard of hearing Very rude and unprofessional staff Went in today because we were in the area for lunch. Let my mother order first and the staff member helping us was already projecting her bad day onto us. My mother is hard of hearing due to being elderly so it takes her a couple times to comprehend a full sentence. I step in to help out once my mother decided what she wanted. Then we go to add a pastry to her order and and due to my mother's loss of hearing, the worker had to repeat herself a couple times. Each time the worker became more agitated and aggressive in tone. Once my mother picked what she wanted the worker mouthed her off while walking away and that was the last straw for us and we walked out.
