Ever since they went to a frozen model, where everything is trucked in frozen, it's gone significantly downhill. It's now just another fast food joint. But in that, it's not even fast. Or correct. I've gotten so many wrong orders I've taken to actually going in to order as opposed to pre ordering now. Cashier - great. Person making my order, a statue. I could only tell if she was moving if I looked away for ten minutes and then looked back to see what changed. On top of that, she got my order wrong not once but twice on the same order. And not just wrong, entirely incorrect item every time. Bacon doesn't look like turkey and avocado. A manager had to come make my order for her. What's more is when I even tried to tell the lady "making" my food it was wrong, she completely ignored me as if I wasn't there. I do believe this will be my final visit to this once great restaurant. Disappointing for sure. Quality and service have been sacrificed for profits. It's really a shame. read more

the customer service at this location was so so bad. i had some questions with the meal i was wanting to buy and a helpful worker got the manager for me. the manager came off very condescending and impatient while saying that i couldn't add any sides on my sandwich deal or add anything on the side even separate or if i paid. no problem at all. i end up ordering my sandwich that the manager said i could get without onion and it came with a baguette but they allowed me to order chips instead. i go to get my order after its done and the sandwich has the onions and they still gave me the baguette instead of chips despite my receipt saying exactly how my order should've been. none of this would be that big of a deal if not for the manager using us as an example and berating the worker who took our order in front of us for her mistakes. we then have to hear her for the next 10 mins still talking about it as we're standing right there. she really should've waited for us to be gone or something. Food is still good and it's a nice place for eating when chatting with friends. However, the service used to be much, much better. Sometimes the cashiers don't give you eye contact and they don't pay attention to what you are asking for. Once a cashier handed us cups for the fountain drink with her hand on top of them. Gross. I just had the worst experience at Panera Bread. I had to ask for my food, which said it was ready to find it was setting in back in a sack. When I opened the bag the salad was a disgusting mess and the sandwich looked like someone sat on it. When I tried to get help no one would help me and just ignored me. When I tried to contact someone via the website or app on my phone neither would let me talk to anyone. I took the food back up to them, and the person whom I suspect was the manager told me I had to leave. I didn't get to eat and paid $25 for nothing. I am a fairly regular customer at Panera Bread across the country, but today was unlike any other day in the fact that I went into the St Joseph, MO, location and stood at the counter for a good 3-4 minutes and not a single person behind the counter acknowledged my existence (and there were three employees behind there). At first I was just smiling and giving them the benefit of the doubt as they were doing tasks, but they kept looking up at me as if I were there for my health. After standing there, unacknowledged, the phone rang and the girl that was staring at me the whole time, not speaking to me, had the audacity to answer the $&@! Phone!! Then after that, two of the three employees grabbed drink cups and went to fill up cup for them personally!! Who does that?!?! After that, I was done and I promptly left. I am canceling my sip club membership and I will never go back to Panera again. Thanks for ruining one of my favorite places to eat. I've never experienced such rudeness in all my life! Sent a nasty tasting (and wrong) drink, blamed the DoorDash employee. DoorDash had it there in a few minutes, wife's employer is right down the road and she messaged me immediately after thanking me. It was a watered down sloppy drink that looked like the glass was dirty. Phoned to complain, was told that's just the way the drink is and to have a great day--in a passive aggressive manner. This particular location doesn't bring you your food, you pick it up at the counter when they call your name. I waited less than 5 minutes to pick up my entree, which is quick compared to other experiences at other locations. However, the taste is a bit different. The creamy-ness is the same, but overall the mac and cheese was saltier than other branches. About a one hour drive north of Kansas City and two hours south of Omaha, this is a good stopping point for a healthy meal. This location is only 1/4 mile off of I-29 and an excellent alternative to the mostly fast food joints along the interstate. I'm a big fan of the "You Pick 2"; a half sandwich and bowl of soup hits the spot. The chicken noodle soup and turkey sandwich along with an iced green tea is my favorite. However, the Fuji apple salad and black bean soup are good selections as well. I've been here a few times now and it's never overly crowded; a bonus when you want a quick bite and then get on the road again. This Panera Bread has ample parking. Don't look up and bring a snack. I like the set up in the register area for menu ease of access. Disliked paying an extra $3.99 for a sandwich add-on only to be given a half portion of the vegan quinoa bowl. When questioned on it, I was told that it was a full portion. It was like a shot glass portion. Sad. The quinoa bowl has like $0.38 of ingredients, so I only got abt $0.19 of ingredients... a $8.99 dish by the way. Another tip for mgmt: some of ceiling tiles are just disgusting--spend the money to change those around the vents. Every time I come in the people here are friendly, helpful, always in a good mood. And they work! I went to "Panera" in Saint Joseph last Sunday. There were a lot of different kinds of food. For exmple,salad,soup and sandwiches. So,I had hard time choosing one. I chose the Thai Chicken salad and Black bean soup. Black bean soup looked like sweet red-bean soup,so I was surprised. I ate the soup fearfully but,I was relived that it was not sweet. The soup had only black beans in it. I want to order for Chili soup next time. Thai Chicken salad was very good. Dressing was creamy and was a little spicy. I got full from just the half size salad. So,I could not eat the side dishes. So,I thought it was good I chose chips as my side dish. I was happy that coffee was very good. I could choose coffee from several kinds. They have a very specific selection mostly grains. As a picky eater this makes finding something to eat difficult. Everything involves grains weather it be soup or a sandwich. Food sometimes is cold or not cooked fully. it's a bit pricey. But when made correctly it's amazing like their creamy mac and cheese or their soothing chicken noodle soup. Healthy options.
