21. Beef Pho

Absolutely delicious! Wonderful and kind staff. Helped make a recommendation for me when I couldn't decide. The beef pho was super yummy and spicy. Huge portion but I ate it all up! Took it to go and it was nicely packaged with no spills. Will return!

Spicy Nigiri Combo

Small place hidden in large shopping area. Server was friendly. Place was clean very little decorations little on the sterile side almost like a waiting room in a hospital. Tried the Tonkotsu Ramen (asked for extra spicy) and the Spicy Nigiri Combo. The ramen was ok, broth had good flavor wasn't very spicy though. The noodles were on the thin side for ramen more like vermicelli. Overall average. The sushi nigiri was good, the roll fell apart easily while eating. Mainly only tasted the sauces they put on it. Overall it was all okay. 3/5.

So I was in St. Joe on business and wanted to try a local specialty. Imagine my surprise to find a Burmese restaurant! This place is fantastic. Great food and friendly service. Very clean and family run. I highly recommend.

Service was slow, not very friendly. The food tasted as if it came from a can and was cold.

I was greeted by 2 people and was kindly seated immediately. I went on a Monday lunch hour…read more Restaurant was super clean and bathroom was also clean, which is always a plus in my books! I ordered the spicy kani salad and the daikon maki. The daikon maki was incredibly refreshing in this summer heat and I absolutely enjoyed all the fresh flavors. The fresh fish paired so well with that radish paper and yuzu sauce, I could have 2 orders of this minimum! The kani salad wasn't spicy at all, so I added on some soy sauce mixed with wasabi and it really added some extra kick and flavor. My favorite part was the pineapple bits in the salad for that delicious sweet and savory flavor. I will absolutely be back for the same order and more!

Let me give this review in chronological order. We walked in through the door l, and they showed us…read morewhere to sit l, which was nice. However, the chairs I was sitting in were not the most comfortable; the padding on the bottom served no purpose. We sat down and got waters, and calamari for the appetizer. After a couple of minutes, we were served our appetizer, and we found out the calamari was made with octopus, and not squid (there is a difference). It is sad to see this business using octopus as their food, because octopus are very smart and it is not worth it to eat a creature that can remember who you are if you see it more than once. They should at least put a warning on the menu that it is made from octopus. However, that is the curling of the finger on the monkeys paw, because the calamari was very good. I would order it again if it weren't for the fact that it was made from octopus. Anyways, we ordered our sushi, and after waiting about 10 minutes, we received our sushi. All of the rolls that we got were phenomenal. The Philadelphia rolls we got were nice, and the tempura rolls were nice and warm. The worst roll (and yet somehow most pricey) was the Yakuza roll, but that was really just preference. The biggest gripes I had were the uncomfortable chairs, and octopus calamari. If it weren't for those two things this would be a five star restaurant in my books. We will keep coming back however it was really good. I hope the owners of this business will read this review and consider changing the calamari from octopus to squid, but alas, that is unlikely to happen. Will come again

Very little customer service interaction compare to the previous ownership. But the biggest thing here is the food is never refill at a timely manner. There are more empty food tray than there is food for customer. And when they do refill it up, it's very little portion. And they are selective with what they are refilling instead of refill all the empty tray. They are making us paid full dinner price but no food for us to enjoy. I hope management see this and resolve this because this place has so much potential.

The variety is impressive, ranging from traditional Chinese dishes and soups to sushi and hibachi. By far the best value is the choose-your-own hibachi-style buffet. You select your veggies, noodles, meats, and more, then choose the seasonings and sauces to go with it. At the hibachi window, they cook your selections right in front of you. Everything comes out fresh, flavorful, and made exactly the way you like it--very tasty! The restaurant itself is clean, well organized, and run by attentive, friendly staff who make the experience even better. This is definitely a place I would happily return to.

Coming out of the wood works for this one....A passionate review for a WELL DESERVING spot: if…read moreyou've been considering popping in here, do it. The ambience: vibrant, artful murals sprawling the walls with homage paid to Kansas City. The space is clean and modern. Intimate seating. If you are wanting a spacious and slow experience, come in during the lunch hour. A special nod at whoever controls the playlist - there's some good music in here too! The drinks: there's such a good selection of sake, cocktails, AND beer. I've eaten at several Asian/Japanese restaurants: Kata Nori boasts a CURATED drink menu. The food: the hand rolls are the show stopper here, crudos come in close second. The hand rolls are FRESH and the fish here is so clean. Specialty fish flown in from Japan. My favorite thing about the food (which flows into my service bit) - is that you can really get some personalization done on your food. Special shout outs to Jacob, John, and Zach. But Zach, overall, was really incredible with his knowledge of the menu. He was the one making my hand rolls today and he gave very polite recommendations for plates and rolls. He was extremely knowledgeable about what was on the menu and ended up showing me something new (and probably my new favorite roll!) you can tell he's very passionate about his job and really takes pride in his work. Overall, the experience was 12/10. There's a few new "stand out" Japanese restaurants around, but it should be notably mentioned that Kata Nori was truly the first of its kind here. Come see what they're rollin' up over here!

Jazz club / Sushi bar combo - interesting concept!…read more We didn't fit the target demographic, but we're made to feel quite welcome by both staff and other guests - very nice! We chose hand rolls from the unique menus, and complied with our server's suggestion to munch while the nori was nice and crisp - a great suggestion. Texture was spot on, and taste, while a little out of the ordinary in our experience, was quite interesting. Music was a little loud, probably suited a little better for later in the evening when packed with more people. Prices were a little high, even by our Los Angeles-area standards, but probably appropriate for an "in" spot.
